View 2 Replies View RelatedI got a message to update my phone software, when I connected my phone to my pc, and after I started the process i got the Sony Update Engine Failure (error 100) message. Now I CAN'T USE MY PHONE. Every time I start it i get the message:

Don't tell me to delete/restore my phone because I'm not gonna do that. I have important data on that phone and I'm not gonna delet it just because you can't make something work ok.
I tried switching the firewall **bleep** off but to no avail.

I installed last update 3. something, and now it tells me my SD card is not installed. I tried reinstalling the update, and reinstalling the SD card, and nothing helped. I even reformated the card to see if it helped. It was working perfectly fine with previous version of OS.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI've just purchase the X10 mini pro. Really impressed with it so far. However, when i try and open 'Office Suite' which was pre-installed on the phone it tells me there is an update availalbe and to continue i need to download this. When i select the 'update' button, the process begins but after a few seconds i get an error message saying 'installation failed'. I've had no problems opening any of the other pre-installed apps, and have downloaded some from Android Market with no problems.
View 7 Replies View RelatedFinally the ICS update has become available for my phone (SI 1253-7151) -PC Companion pops up a message about the new update. If I click "Update", PC Companion starts downloading the update, finishes the download and says "Preparing computer for program updates".
Then it proceeds to "Unable to install or start components for update of phone system" and my phone does not get updated.Then I have tried Sony Update Service, but now I can't even start it properly; the program crashes right after opening it. It just says "Synchronizing" and then "An unexpected error has occured. The application will shut down." so I never get any possibility to see why.Again, my phone does not get updated. Since both programs crash there must be a serious problem with the downloaded files (and they're probably shared between the programs?).Apparently I'm not the only one experiencing it; I can see in a Norwegian forum that other people have the same problem - and in the original thread that you have hidden (!).
PS. The original thread was not mine; I just replied to it since I had the exact same problem. Regarding the new "moderation strategy" I believe that the above question is not rude, it's not spam - and reposting the question is necessary when the issue has not been resolved and the original thread has disappeared..
why you are blocking update for Neo-V ?? Why there is no SI line of this phone with newest firmware ?? What is wrong with Neo-V ??? Maybe the SEUS servers are too busy to give update to all? but one or two SI numbers lines will generate small traffic . If there is no other reasons to start roll out for Neo-V then , then start just 2 or 3 SI numbers lines .
View 9 Replies View RelatedHaving a problem with my Yari and selecting internet settings - the phone simply won't select any internet settings! Everytime a connection is made to the internet, the phone asks for me to choose what internet settings to install.I have sent the settings to the phone from both Sony Ericsson (SE) Website and Optus (operator in Australia). I receive these ok, but settings don't install. No issue with streaming settings.
The phone will not connect to the operator to download settings for MMS/WAP/Internet.

Steps taken to attempt to resolve:
1. Manual internet settings
2. Operator provided internet settings
3. SE provided internet settings
4. Master reset
5. repeat steps 2 and 3 - same issue.
SE in Australia suggested Master Reset and then code update, which I will try tonight. Other than that, return to retailer.Any one have any suggestions? Hardware or software fault?
I installed in applications "water level" but I was unable to open or remove. How should I do?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI've just re-updated my X10 Mini to see if it would run any smoother. Since then I cannot access the Sony Ericsson sync. I've tried adding the account in settings > Accounts & sync > Add account > Sony Ericsson sync, it goes to the Sont Ericsson login screen and will not go past that after I have enterewd my details, or5 it redirects me to the login to the website dashboard. I'm getting no opportunity to authorise the account and now I cannnoot sync my contacts as I don't use the Google account for that.
View 1 Replies View Relatedi used my sony pc commpanion to try to upgrade my sony erricson mini pro (sk17i) to the new ics OS . halfway thru the download i get a screen which says softare update failure. thats like half an hour thru the downloading process. my si nummber is liisted on the sony website for the official upgrade. (1249-0761). A company of sony s repute really needs to offer better customer service.
View 9 Replies View RelatedMy k800i has been absolutely fine for the 4 or so years i've owned it but recently trying to start the golf game it came installed with has crashed the phone sending into an auto restart.Today instead of restarting, the phone crashed and had a few pixels on the screen in dark Grey but wouldn't change so i had to remove the battery. Now whenever i turn on the phone, the screen display is completely white and the phone vibrates once. I have tried removing the memory card, letting the phone sit for a few minutes before trying again etc all with no success. After googling this problem it seems fairly common but I didn't want to download different software that could damage it permanently. Does anyone know a good solution to this?

- Very laggy menu and homescreen slide animation
- Not smooth kinetic scrool
- Camera video recorder is too laggy
- All 2D games as Angry Birds as are not playing smoothly
- All 3D games have a big RAM problem.
I've tested ICS with factory settings and cleaned SD card. Also wiped all data. Same problems appeared.I've also Class 10 SD card.All of these problems fixing when i use Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread.
The update started in June, 2012 and its end October now. How long will it take me to get ICS on my phone or should i stop bothering coming to this forum for update !

View 9 Replies View RelatedI just purchased a new Sony Xperia Play & I love the phone minus a few things and one of them is the screen brightness, I just updated to the latest OS and It is very annoying when the screen is so dark until you hold it up to the light and then it is bright again, This was to be the replacement of my X10 and if I could get the screen brightness issue fixed I would be a happy camper. I searched and see there is only one fix for it right now and that is to root your phone and apply the fix but I do not want to attempt to do that quite yet. If anyone has heard if Sony plans on fixing this or if there is another way around it please let me know for I am still looking at the new Samsung Galaxy II Infuse 4G which was my other option other than the Play.

Having checked for updates via the BB website, and been told none available, I'm wondering if the auto-check only works within a main version i.e. OS 5 or 6.I have an unbranded UK handset presently running v5.0.0.884 (platform 6.2.0.94). I assume there is no update within OS 5.However, what about OS 6? Can OS 6 be installed as an update? Depending on where I read I get the impression OS 6 is available for my handset, but then other sources seem to indicate not.If it's not available, fine.
