I don't use BES. When I'm at home or at work and have direct access to email, I'd like to turn off my bb email client. How can I do that?
In one post I saw the recommendation Messages > Options > Email Reconciliation > Wireless Reconcile -> set of Off. Is this enough? (I have my BB set up for wi-fi connection when I'm home, in case that makes a difference.)
Bought an E72 in preference to Blackberry. Want to use it to get work email but rest of Co. uses Blackberry. IT dept say I can't therefore access work email on my phone as the server is specifically set up for Blackberry. Is this just them being inflexible and is there a way I can get my work email on this phone given their feedback?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have used Blackberry for about 5 years now and upgraged 3-4 times. Each time my Blackberry email has transferred across into the automatice email set up. I upgraded last week again to the new Bold 9900 and this time the email has not come across. It is still there on the blackberry pc page to edit signatures etc., and when I select the option to 'update device' I get the error message 'unable to find device'. I've tried everything, and contacted "Orange" who say they are also unable to access the email as the password is not being recognised?? HELP

Similarily, when I try to open any of the three email folders...the text messages folder opens. I know I am receiving emails but I cannot access the email folders. This situation has existed for 8-10 days. Any time I try to access my email settings to determine if they need a 'reset' I get a message that states; 'Connecting to email setting....'which continues for some time until it tells me that I do not have access to the server. At first all seemed ok, the upgrade seems to have been successfully installed. However I cannot send or receive emails now. I have tried to reconcile and nothing at all happens. If I try to access my email via settings I just get a message saying "Your device has a problem connecting to the internet" and I'm offered RETRY or CANCEL I've retried loads of times without success. But when I tried to access Email Account Management, I got a message "Unable to open email setup application. Contact your wireless service provider". I did, and they told me that the only remedy would be to clean install the operating system. As I would like to avoid this, I searched the web a bit, and found the advice to setup my email account online. I tried this, but got an error message saying that my device was not registered, although I did register it a few minutes earlier (Houst Routing Table -> Register now). I re-registered, reboothed the device - same error.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just got my new Bold9700 and am trying to set it up and failing completely. Part of this may be because I am in Costa Rica. The primary problem is that it is connecting to a WiFi network, but not to a BlackBerry Internet Service. I have a data plan, I am linked to a network here (called I.C.E), and I am connected to a WiFi network, but it will not open due to the lack of Internet Service connection.
My phone is apparently locked, but I am using a USA SIM card, not a Costa Rican one. Do I need to unlock my phone in order to connect to the Internet Server here? As a result of this connection, I also cannot access email or set up BBM.
I'm not able to access email account setup since installing the latest OS. Is there a way to revert to the earlier version?

Interestingly though, if I delete or read an email on my BB, the action is reciprocated on the web.And finally, if I send myself an email (either from the web or my BB), it appears on the web but not on my BB.
