BB Bold :: "Service Not Enabled For This Handheld."
Jul 17, 2011
how can i use my BBM? when i'm trying to log in it displays "Service not enabled for this handheld." my service provider adviced me to register here, i've done so yet can't use my BBM, as well as the other applications here in my fone(Bold 9700)..
I just got a Curve 8520 today, everything seemed to be going alright until I tried to sign into Gmail, it didn't work. (This has happened before on another non-BB phone -- So I didn't think much of it) Then I tried to log in to the Yahoo Instant Messenger on the IM folder. Each one (MSN, YIM, AIM) gave me the error message of 'Service not Enabled for this Handheld device" I looked on Google, YES I do have a data plan, I went to my service provider about a different problem, (Close enough, it was about emails), and I DO have the Data plan.
When I try to use the Gtalk application it gives me the following error:"Service not enabled for this handheld" I installed gtalk via appworld. I have consequently tried to remove it and reinstall it from the device and again from the desktop managment software. I suspect this error is due to missing application permissions. When I go to:options > Security Options > Application Permissions there is no entry for gtalk. A colleage at work (with a bold) has an entry specific to gtalk. Any idea how I can do a clean install (so that the install does not sggest a reinstall) and/or force the creation of the permissions entry.here are some details:
i got a problem with my storm, when i try to log in with my windows messenger it says "Service not enabled for this handheld" i already called AT&T and they cant do nothing about it?
I usually do a battery pull every 3 or 4 days. I always send my service books by way of my laptop from the T-Mobile website. When I am not at my desk and want to send servicebooks what is the easiest way of doing this on the handheld? (9700)
Just got the new Bold 9650. Should I have the firewall enabled, and the encryption enabled? What else should I do to make sure that my phone is secure?
I purchased an iPhone 3GS with an Optus Pre-Paid deal (with 3G included) many years ago. My Optus contract finished and terminated. I started a new business contract with my fathers company Telstra Plan with a new non-3G enabled plan. I recieved a new simcard and everything worked (other than 3G ofcoarce).
The Telstra Business Plan has been completed and I have re-entered a new contract period with Telstra again. But this time I have organised 3G to be enabled. The plan has commenced but 3G doesn't actually work. I have unlocked my IMEI number through Telstra and I was told to Sync my iPhone. I completed the sync and I still don't have any 3G capability! Can anyone recommend a way of getting the service enabled properly? I have tried the Telstra website to send me the settings (it also didn't work).
Im not able to use gtalk on my phone. The error i get is "service not enabled".I have tried calling vodacom who have advised that i need to speak to google.... I have tried to research this error but there are so many different solutions there.
I try using one the Instant Messaging services, I keep getting the error shown in the title. Its not just one, it's all four of them(MSN, AIM, Yahoo!, and GTalk).
I have an issue with BB 9100, after transferring users data from a 8100 pearl, I cannot activate with Enterprise Activation. So far I have troubleshooted the following: Tested the SIM card in a known working 9700 Bold - Sim card is working fine - BES service is activated - I was able to configure the users account. After placing SIM card in the BB 9100 - No Blackberry symbol (logo) & registration msg Tried - Register Now - through Host Routing Table - no change Security wiped handheld - no change Upgaded to 9100_9105Asia_PBr6.0.0_rel2474_PL6.6.0.207_A6.0.0.546_Telstra (OS6) Downgraded to: 9100_9105EastAsia_PBr5.0.0_rel1083_PL6.2.0.46_A5.0.0.623_Telstra (OS5) Replaced the SIM card - No change Contacted my service provider - they sent another new handset This is also having the exact same problem, also after transferring the users data from 8100, and repeating all the troubleshooting previously.
I keep getting a message "service not enabled for this device" when I try to log in to my IMs. I have the data plan on my phone and when i went to talk to my service provider they said everything was connected on there side.
I have downloaded and installed windows live messenger to a curve 8520. When I try to log onto it I get a message saying 'Service not enabled for this handset'.
Just downloaded 5.0 software a few days ago. I now notice the "thinking clock" on the screen frequently when using some applications. I do not have a SD micro card at all. If I install one would current apps run better, or faster? I always thought that the SD cards were simply to store data,
I recently received a replacement Blackberry Bold device. On my old phone I had it set up to ask whether I wanted to delete email messages on just the handheld device or both. I like having the option. On this replacement device I can't find this optional setting. I'm even having a hard time accessing the various email options.

I keep receiving messages from RIM network on my handheld. They state that the message is used to carry data between the Blackberry handheld and an associated server and advise me not to delete, move or respond. Anyone have any idea as to how i can get these messages not to appear constantly?
I would like to install the East Asian language software on my Blackberry Bold handheld. Unfortunately my wireless service provider (Vodafone NL) only supports the multi language software and not the all language or East Asian language software.
So therefore my question, how could I download the Asian language support although my wireless service provides doesn't provides any?
In the old days, and in this age its only one year ago, it was possible to download all the necessary software on the Blackberry website, so on my 4.0 OS I could easily add the East Asian language software. Recently I ubdated my handheld with the 6.O OS and now I am confronted with this problem. Hence I now its possible to get the East Asian language support, and after enjoying its advantages for more than a year I can't do anything without.
Previously I was using a Bold 9700 handheld and was able to pair it with my Platronics 975 Discovery Bluetooth earpiece.Recently I changed to the Bold 9900 and was unable to pair the handheld with the same earpiece. I activated my Bluetooth in the 9900 in attempt to pair up the devices. But the 9900 was not able to detect the earpiece despite numerous attempts. I have checked and double checked to ensure both devices are switched on and the bluetooth is activated. Is the bluetooth in my 9900 malfunctioning?
I have a Bold 9780 and for some reason it pops up with a message saying "Battery drained. Shutting down handheld." even though my battery was 50% full. It has happened before. when it happens, I remove the battery and reboot the device. it gives me the same error except this time, the battery icon says that it is fully charged.
I just updated my Blackberry Bold 9700 and now I can't get past this screen with the proprietary acceptance text. I have tried the following unsuccessfully:
1. Taken the battery off and put back on and re-booted. 2. Tried to update the software again by connecting to my laptop. 3. Taken the battery off, then put battery back on, when red light turned off, I pressed the escape button to possible start in safe mode. didn't work. 4. Taken the battery off, then put battery back on, when red light turned off, when re-boot started, I pressed the escape button to possible start in safe mode. didn't work.
I am using the blackberry service using a GSM service provider, I would like to switch to a new GSM service provider. When I switch the SIM card the handset ask for blackberry ID and password, on entering the details it says invalid Blackberry ID. Can I just use another BB handset and use the new SIM to route all my emails and BB messenger to the new handset.
I have just had my email activated by using the Enterprise Activation function.Everytime I take the phone out of the pouch I have to put in my password. I am unable to disable the "Password Enabled" switch. How do I do this?
I've had the phone for about a week and I absolutely love it except that at seemingly random moments my phone will block the viewing of any and all of my SMS messages saying "Content protection is enabled". It will show up at the beginning of newly received messages and even in the middle of real-time conversations between someone else and I and then I have to wait for the message to "go away" so I can read what the response was and continue the conversation. Is it something I'm doing? A default phone feature? Is anyone else experiencing this issue or at least know how to solve it?
When I try to download an app on my BB Bold 9900 via "https://appworld.blackberry.com/webstore/product/1/?lang=en" do I get the errorApp World Web Plugin Error An error has occurred communication with the BlackBerry App World Client. If you have content protection enabled on device, disable and try again. The content protection is disabled. Also enabling follow by disabling does not work.
Been having general trouble with Blackberry 9780 lately, which upon re-booting I have now sorted. However, tonight have been sending and receiving texts and now a message has come up on all my texts saying this: Content Protection Is Enabled. How I might get rid of this message and get back to seeing my texts.
