Jul 7, 2011I just got a Curve 8520 today, everything seemed to be going alright until I tried to sign into Gmail, it didn't work. (This has happened before on another non-BB phone -- So I didn't think much of it) Then I tried to log in to the Yahoo Instant Messenger on the IM folder.Each one (MSN, YIM, AIM) gave me the error message of 'Service not Enabled for this Handheld device" I looked on Google, YES I do have a data plan, I went to my service provider about a different problem, (Close enough, it was about emails), and I DO have the Data plan.

Apr 13, 2010When I try to use the Gtalk application it gives me the following error:"Service not enabled for this handheld" I installed gtalk via appworld. I have consequently tried to remove it and reinstall it from the device and again from the desktop managment software. I suspect this error is due to missing application permissions. When I go to:options > Security Options > Application Permissions there is no entry for gtalk. A colleage at work (with a bold) has an entry specific to gtalk. Any idea how I can do a clean install (so that the install does not sggest a reinstall) and/or force the creation of the permissions entry.here are some details:

When going through setup, it requests I log in to my MS account, so I tried to log in to the account I'm using for SkyDrive and my Surface tablet, but no luck. Says Invalid account or password (I know it's correct).It's a hotmail account. Does that make any difference? I figured since I'm using this same account for my Surface Tablet login that it shouldn't be an issue?

Jun 3, 2012I purchased an iPhone 3GS with an Optus Pre-Paid deal (with 3G included) many years ago. My Optus contract finished and terminated. I started a new business contract with my fathers company Telstra Plan with a new non-3G enabled plan. I recieved a new simcard and everything worked (other than 3G ofcoarce).
The Telstra Business Plan has been completed and I have re-entered a new contract period with Telstra again. But this time I have organised 3G to be enabled. The plan has commenced but 3G doesn't actually work. I have unlocked my IMEI number through Telstra and I was told to Sync my iPhone. I completed the sync and I still don't have any 3G capability! Can anyone recommend a way of getting the service enabled properly? I have tried the Telstra website to send me the settings (it also didn't work).

BB Device Software :: Facebook Notifications In Email Just On Handheld
Aug 25, 2010Been searching here and cannot find the answer...I apologize if I missed something, but been going back and forth through the forums and online...Updated the Facebook app to latest version (1.8....) when I updated other apps/OS on my phone (8900, OS 4.6.1). Prior to that I think I had downgraded to 1.5 (or 1.6) to be able to upload photos consistently (didn't work with any "newer" version, so went backwards). With that version running...lacked features, but ran fine and photos were uploaded every time (FB started compressing them again, which is why I opted to try the update to 1.8)...my notifications were working properly gmail account on BB (only email associated with handheld) has FB emails set to skip inbox, mark as read etc. when you view on the web. Notifications came through FB app on BB (red star and alert) just fine, AND were "hidden" in BB messages folder. You could navigate to them, but didn't clutter the inbox.
I am VERY confused about the settings on this 1.8 version. Right now I get notifications on the app (red star, can read through app), BUT they also stay in my gmail inbox on the handheld which obviously takes up a LOT of space and don't want to have to constantly delete them. I do NOT get notified of a new email or anything, but want these hidden as they were in previous version.I WANT the emails to go to my gmail account they way they had been, I just do not want them to show up on my BB in the gmail inbox. Tried settings in options menu and doing via FB on the web, but can't find the right combination. Only see people with opposite problem of NOT getting notifications through FB app on BB, and I don't want to mess anything up.Can someone please help and explain what may fix this to go back to hiding the EMAIL version of the notification JUST on the handheld without disabling notifications through the app or with my web email?

Remember, E72 is Nokia's top email phone!I chose hotmail. I'm 100% sure that the entered username and password are correct (they work from Opera mini on the phone and other phones and PCs work fine and in the mail application, I can see that they have been entered correctly).
