BB Curve :: Error Message Of 'Service Not Enabled For This Handheld Device?

Jul 7, 2011

I just got a Curve 8520 today, everything seemed to be going alright until I tried to sign into Gmail, it didn't work. (This has happened before on another non-BB phone -- So I didn't think much of it) Then I tried to log in to the Yahoo Instant Messenger on the IM folder.Each one (MSN, YIM, AIM) gave me the error message of 'Service not Enabled for this Handheld device" I looked on Google, YES I do have a data plan, I went to my service provider about a different problem, (Close enough, it was about emails), and I DO have the Data plan.

BB Curve 83xx :: Device Not Supportive EV (EVDO) Service?

Feb 15, 2010

I bought the 8330 about six months ago and purchased the High-speed data package from Sprint. I have confirmed with my provider that I do have the high-speed data package. I noticed that the phone is very slow while connecting to the internet. I took the phone into the store where I bought it which is a Sprint dealer.

The person working there said the problem was that.I only had a 1X for radio signal and I needed a 1XEV. He messed with the phone for about an hour and even talked to support while I was in store. We tried re-provisioning several times and numerous other things. Eventually I was told by support that the particular Blackberry I owned did not support EV(EVDO) service and I would have to purchase a new phone.

BB Curve 83xx :: Cannot Get Any Service To Connect To BIS

Apr 3, 2010

My blackberry curve had been working fine up until last night. I tried a few things such as reconnecting to the verizon mobile network, I did a reboot and a few hard reboots, I finally wound up doing a wipe which didn't help either. Before I wiped the bb I ran a diagnostics test and my radio data activation would say no and everything else would be unknown. I have no service books and my host routing table is empty. Yhe blackberry internet server doesnt recognize that the phone is activated. I dont know what else to do, I took it to a local verizon store and he said my software is shot and I need a new phone.

BB Curve 8520/8530 :: Enabled Memory Cleaning / Device Won't Turn On

Aug 9, 2010

I have been trying to access a website that I normally visit daily and today it was telling me that about memory being full. Its only when i try to access my inbox, yet the the rest of the pages will load (including facebook).I deleted a bunch of pics off my phone and thought if i enabled memory cleaning, it would clear my cache, cookies, etc.
the prompt said it would save changes when the device was turned off and rebooted. I did a battery pull and now what is happening is my issue.

after i pulled the battery, I get a red blink of hte led, then a black screen with a clock in the middle (obviously the loading symbol) and then the screen showing "blackberry" with a loading bar.Once the loading bar is done loading...nothing! It goes back to turning off the device and reloading from the start. It has been doing this for 2 hours and the device will not go to the home screen, it just keeps rebooting itself. I have done 2 or 3 battery pulls now and it keeps doing it. Would it have anything to do with the "memory clean" enablement? or is the peice of cr@p toast now? And have i lost all my contacts??

BB Curve :: Error - "Service Not Enabled For This Handheld"

Apr 13, 2010

When I try to use the Gtalk application it gives me the following error:"Service not enabled for this handheld" I installed gtalk via appworld. I have consequently tried to remove it and reinstall it from the device and again from the desktop managment software. I suspect this error is due to missing application permissions. When I go to:options > Security Options > Application Permissions there is no entry for gtalk. A colleage at work (with a bold) has an entry specific to gtalk. Any idea how I can do a clean install (so that the install does not sggest a reinstall) and/or force the creation of the permissions are some details:

Device info:

* Carrier: Vodacom
* Curve 8900, v4.6.1.168, platform

Apps and free space"

* File free: 110 MB
* Did a battery pull fix your issue? No
* Apps installed and their version: Google Talk 2.5.32

IPhone :: Get 3G Service Enabled On 3GS?

Jun 3, 2012

I purchased an iPhone 3GS with an Optus Pre-Paid deal (with 3G included) many years ago. My Optus contract finished and terminated. I started a new business contract with my fathers company Telstra Plan with a new non-3G enabled plan. I recieved a new simcard and everything worked (other than 3G ofcoarce).

The Telstra Business Plan has been completed and I have re-entered a new contract period with Telstra again. But this time I have organised 3G to be enabled. The plan has commenced but 3G doesn't actually work. I have unlocked my IMEI number through Telstra and I was told to Sync my iPhone. I completed the sync and I still don't have any 3G capability! Can anyone recommend a way of getting the service enabled properly? I have tried the Telstra website to send me the settings (it also didn't work).

iPhone 3GS, iOS 5.1.1

BB Curve 83xx :: Free Applications For The Device

Mar 31, 2010

I just came from switching from an HTC Touch to a Curve 8310. Still figuring out most of it. The wider keyboard may take some getting used to. First thing I want to do is get all the apps from my old phone to the new one. I have installed Opera Mini 5 but I have to say I miss being able to toggle through the links. Sometimes the rollerball can be too slow.

I used to listen to music via Radiotime on my old phone. However, that was with Windows Mobile and it doesn't quite work with this phone's browser. I saw the post about and quickly got that bookmarked. Right now I am looking for free apps to get me started. Especially a podcast/newsreader and a radio option for my phone.
