Jan 18, 2010If it is set to 12MB does this mean I only have that much storage for audio files?

BB Curve 83xx :: Device Memory Low Warning
Mar 27, 2010Every morning, I get a warning that says, "Device Memory Low Warning". Warning: Free Device memory is less than 4MB. Emails and Calendar events may start to be deleted by the Blackberry OS, a reboot is recommended. Clear Cache and Cancel buttons.
after the Clear Cache is hit a new warning message is displayed. The new warning says: "Available Memory Low. Please ensure clean-up options are running, delete old emails, empty trash, eliminate any any non-required data or applications. Notifylink requires a minimum of 20000 bytes free in order to send or receive. Recommend 500,000 bytes free. 20000 bytes need to be cleaned up." There is only an OK button on the screen. Device free is 5256483. My total database size is 1200.0k. There are no emails, trash items, or sent items in my Notifylink application.

Jan 2, 2010I've got a few questions about my AT&T Curve 8310...I was looking through "Options > Applications" and saw that the app that took the most memory was "Content Store." Anyone know what this is, if I can delete it, & what would happen if I did? Is there any way to shrink this down some?
My address book takes up quite a bit of memory; so does my calendar -- both of which were synced from Outlook. Is there any way to have the addresses/calendar data stored onto my microSD instead of the device memory?
Lastly, I noticed that when I call people using my Curve, it shows up on their caller ID as "private name, private number." Where can I change this setting? Is it in my provider's settings (which I can access online) or on the BlackBerry's settings somewhere? Also, is it possible to at least NOT have it show private when calling those on my address book, such as friends & relatives?

Feb 3, 2010I have a BlackBerry 8330 and I am having problems with my SprintTV, NFL Mobile Live App, etc where I cannot watch any video or audio from those apps. I took it into a Sprint Tech Store, and they thought that maybe it was becuase I either had an after market App that was interfereing with the audio/video feeds, or that I was simply using too much memory and it was interfereing with the audio/video. Tehy couldn't tell me where to look for the Device Memory and had no idea how much it came with out of the box and how much I was using.
I need to know how much Device Memory comes on a BB 8330, where to look in my BB to find out how much I'm using, and need to know if there are any suggestions or tricks I can perform to free some up without deleting too many apps (if that's even possible). From the other forum answers I've read, I don't think there's a way to free space without deleting content. I see Device Memory in my Options, but it only says:
File Free: 27080648 Bytes
Is that a lot left, or is that close to being depleted? Is that actually the Device Memory, or is that something else? There's nowhere that tells me how much I started with.

Feb 22, 2010My BB has been running really slow lately so I installed a memory card to alleviate the issue. It helped for a while but now I'm back to a slow crawl at times which has really caused some problems when VZ Navigator just freezes on me.I know if I can just clean the emails and text messages off the media card, but I can't figure out how to access the cards memory bu itself. I certainly don't want to clear the pictures off of it (it's only a couple but I'd rather not delete them) so I'd rather not format the card if I don't have to.

May 15, 2010I just got a 8310 for free and she told me she went to use it one day and it stopped working. Like she couldnt hit any buttons or anything, she can scroll but thats it. So I was thinking about trying to wipe it and re-installing a newer OS. I have not done this for this type of phone.

Mar 11, 2010I am curious about BB Desktop Manager 5.0. My Curve 8310 came with BB Tools but it is version 4.3. I downloaded 5.0 from BB website and when I plugged in my 8310 with software version 4.5.0.153 it displayed about a dozen updates to my phone. I declined the updates for now because I didnt want to hack up my phone. Is it ok to update with the 5.0 version or should I stick to the 4.3?

Apr 1, 2010On initial bootup, after unintalling some apps, I now have 22 MB. Is this a reasonable amount to have a Curve 8330 running 5.0.0.438? I have been told OS 5.0 is really too much for the Curve to handle, so want to make it more manageable, as I don't want to go back to 4.5.According to BlackBerry.com, the 8330 has 96 MB RAM. If I'm coming up with 22 MB at initial bootup, that means 5.0 is using 74 MB. Is that normal?

Feb 10, 2010I've gone ahead and bought a 8GB Sandisk card because I don't want to be limited on the amount of music I can put on my player at any given time.For the most part the thing works(ed) like it was suppose to. Dragged over all my Media files from my 1gb and things have been cool ever since.Now while I take good care of my BB Curve 8320, it takes the odd fall here and there. Never enough to damage or mar the screen and these falls have happened WITH the new 8GB card inside.....up until today, when it took a bunny hop of a fall...and now the card is "Unreadable and needs formatting"
WTF? I'm all ready to format it, but whenever I try doing so using the Blackberry...it freezes. Whenever I try doing it on my computer...I get no response. I heard someone said to put it in the big SD adapter thing and try using it on a comp and formatting it there...I'll have to search for a comp with an SD drive to get that done in a bit...but incase that doesn't work...Do I have any other options?
This is absolute crap..when I opened the BB to see if the chip was dislodged, it wasn't...the BB won't read it now...it reads the other 1gb quite fine but not this one....and living in a third world country It's not like as is I can bomb over there and get another card for a decent price as opposed to purchasing a severly marked up one here. Has anyone ever had this sort of problem with any of the bigger model phones? I'm starting to think that this Curve thing is too 'delicate' for my liking.

Mar 31, 2010I just came from switching from an HTC Touch to a Curve 8310. Still figuring out most of it. The wider keyboard may take some getting used to. First thing I want to do is get all the apps from my old phone to the new one. I have installed Opera Mini 5 but I have to say I miss being able to toggle through the links. Sometimes the rollerball can be too slow.
I used to listen to music via Radiotime on my old phone. However, that was with Windows Mobile and it doesn't quite work with this phone's browser. I saw the post about blueapple.mobi and quickly got that bookmarked. Right now I am looking for free apps to get me started. Especially a podcast/newsreader and a radio option for my phone.

Sep 13, 2010My girls blackberry 8320 is having issues. The trackball scrolls perfectly, but does not click at all. We've tried taking it to t-mobile places around here every single time they say "sorry nothing we can do" even during their free trackball replacement promo way back. She refuses to get a new phone for some reason, so I turn to you all for help on this one. Any idea what the problem could be? Would a new trackball from the store fix it you think?
