Is it just me or are there other folks out there addicted to finding ways to clear more memory? I'm hovering around 31mb after deleting Facebook (think there was a memory leak).
View 5 RepliesI have a BBM notifaction that I cannot clear. I have been through EVERYTHING on my phone, and nope there is nothing pending or open. How do I clear it? I even did a battery pull.The only thing I can think of, was I had a request, accidently hit ignore and saw the person that sent me that request and i requested them back. Thought I cleared it when I added the person but it is still there.So does anyone have any ideas how to clear this?

how do i get more app memory back. my phone keeps sayign that the memory is too low after i download the OS 5.0 on my curve 8330 for verizon.
View 5 Replies View RelatedA friend gave me their old Blackberry but it was used for his work email and was set up with a password just to access the phone. He doesn't remember the password. I put a new sim card in, but is still asking for the password. We tried 4 different ones. On the 5th it warns you that your program will be deleted. We haven't tried the 5th password. It we do will it erase information in the sim card?
Is there a way to clear everything out of memory and reset the Blackberry to it original defalut settings.I tried pulling out the battery with the phone on, but that doesn't do any good.
Every morning, I get a warning that says, "Device Memory Low Warning". Warning: Free Device memory is less than 4MB. Emails and Calendar events may start to be deleted by the Blackberry OS, a reboot is recommended. Clear Cache and Cancel buttons.
after the Clear Cache is hit a new warning message is displayed. The new warning says: "Available Memory Low. Please ensure clean-up options are running, delete old emails, empty trash, eliminate any any non-required data or applications. Notifylink requires a minimum of 20000 bytes free in order to send or receive. Recommend 500,000 bytes free. 20000 bytes need to be cleaned up." There is only an OK button on the screen. Device free is 5256483. My total database size is 1200.0k. There are no emails, trash items, or sent items in my Notifylink application.
Will selecting repair when highlighting Application Memory Free space be the equivilant of defragmenting? Should found clusters be saved or deleted?
View 12 Replies View RelatedI have a BlackBerry 8330 and I am having problems with my SprintTV, NFL Mobile Live App, etc where I cannot watch any video or audio from those apps. I took it into a Sprint Tech Store, and they thought that maybe it was becuase I either had an after market App that was interfereing with the audio/video feeds, or that I was simply using too much memory and it was interfereing with the audio/video. Tehy couldn't tell me where to look for the Device Memory and had no idea how much it came with out of the box and how much I was using.
I need to know how much Device Memory comes on a BB 8330, where to look in my BB to find out how much I'm using, and need to know if there are any suggestions or tricks I can perform to free some up without deleting too many apps (if that's even possible). From the other forum answers I've read, I don't think there's a way to free space without deleting content. I see Device Memory in my Options, but it only says:
File Free: 27080648 Bytes
Is that a lot left, or is that close to being depleted? Is that actually the Device Memory, or is that something else? There's nowhere that tells me how much I started with.
If it is set to 12MB does this mean I only have that much storage for audio files?

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy BB has been running really slow lately so I installed a memory card to alleviate the issue. It helped for a while but now I'm back to a slow crawl at times which has really caused some problems when VZ Navigator just freezes on me.I know if I can just clean the emails and text messages off the media card, but I can't figure out how to access the cards memory bu itself. I certainly don't want to clear the pictures off of it (it's only a couple but I'd rather not delete them) so I'd rather not format the card if I don't have to.

I was looking at the SDSDQ-4096 MicroSDHC Memory Card My question is, BestBuys Compatibility Program/Chart doesn't show this card compatible with the 8330. But I'm sure you guys can answer this one! Thanks much! Also please tell me the "type or size" of the card I have look for if I go to the store, I know a lot of them are different sizes, and I want to get the right one the first time. Also how much should I expect to pay for this.
View 9 Replies View RelatedOn initial bootup, after unintalling some apps, I now have 22 MB. Is this a reasonable amount to have a Curve 8330 running 5.0.0.438? I have been told OS 5.0 is really too much for the Curve to handle, so want to make it more manageable, as I don't want to go back to 4.5.According to BlackBerry.com, the 8330 has 96 MB RAM. If I'm coming up with 22 MB at initial bootup, that means 5.0 is using 74 MB. Is that normal?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI've gone ahead and bought a 8GB Sandisk card because I don't want to be limited on the amount of music I can put on my player at any given time.For the most part the thing works(ed) like it was suppose to. Dragged over all my Media files from my 1gb and things have been cool ever since.Now while I take good care of my BB Curve 8320, it takes the odd fall here and there. Never enough to damage or mar the screen and these falls have happened WITH the new 8GB card inside.....up until today, when it took a bunny hop of a fall...and now the card is "Unreadable and needs formatting"
WTF? I'm all ready to format it, but whenever I try doing so using the Blackberry...it freezes. Whenever I try doing it on my computer...I get no response. I heard someone said to put it in the big SD adapter thing and try using it on a comp and formatting it there...I'll have to search for a comp with an SD drive to get that done in a bit...but incase that doesn't work...Do I have any other options?
This is absolute crap..when I opened the BB to see if the chip was dislodged, it wasn't...the BB won't read it now...it reads the other 1gb quite fine but not this one....and living in a third world country It's not like as is I can bomb over there and get another card for a decent price as opposed to purchasing a severly marked up one here. Has anyone ever had this sort of problem with any of the bigger model phones? I'm starting to think that this Curve thing is too 'delicate' for my liking.
I have a Telus Curve 8330 and only have about 2 mb left of space so the phone has been freezing. I have a 8 gb micro sd card in there and I wanted to save my apps and everything possible in there.

I have read previous forum posts and I don't have the options that it is asking for. It says to BB -> Options -> Store Pictures -> change to card, but I don't have the options to Store Pictures. I have very little apps on my phone, and I regularly delete emails/sms/mms messages. Now when I go to take pictures it says I only have "7 Photos Remaining" when before it never said that. How do I check my memory? Or how do I clear my memory or delete unnecessary things? I have already tried restoring my phone and it didn't really work.

View 1 Replies View Relatedso I was going to buy gta for my s5 I started to download it but I did not know that it would take up 2.4 GB wile I had like 1 GB so I did not have enough space and I would just get an error so I deleted tons of apps till I got 1.2 something GB when I tryed to download the app again it said it was downloading and would take 2.4 GB but I had 1.2 so once it reached 1.2GB/2.4GB it gave the not enough space error so, I checked to see how much space I had, well... i had 109 MB... yep. GG google playstore. GG. so I refunded gta (gives my money back AND uninstalls it) and checked back at my storage... still 109 MB. How do I delete this 1.2 GB unfinished file off my phone?? I looked all over my phone and can't figure it out. I am rooted on s5 Verizon by the way.

In the task manager, if I click "Clear Memory" under RAM tab, it said more than 10 apps closed. But when I click the same button after few mins, it said the same number of application closed again.Actually which applications got closed when I clicked the Clear button first time, and how those apps occupied the memory once again, how do I ensure, my RAM is not used by unused/unwanted apps, where can I see the which applications are using how much memory?
