I have a Telus Curve 8330 and only have about 2 mb left of space so the phone has been freezing. I have a 8 gb micro sd card in there and I wanted to save my apps and everything possible in there.
View 6 RepliesWhy can't the BB OS use some of the removable memory card space to free up the internal memory. To me this is a no brainer, most of us have 16 or 32gig cards, I would be more than happy to set aside some space so the phone could run better. Most of the new flash cards these days are reasonably fast and could easily be used as a swap file place holder or reside some of the dormitory features.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI have a BlackBerry 8330 and I am having problems with my SprintTV, NFL Mobile Live App, etc where I cannot watch any video or audio from those apps. I took it into a Sprint Tech Store, and they thought that maybe it was becuase I either had an after market App that was interfereing with the audio/video feeds, or that I was simply using too much memory and it was interfereing with the audio/video. Tehy couldn't tell me where to look for the Device Memory and had no idea how much it came with out of the box and how much I was using.
I need to know how much Device Memory comes on a BB 8330, where to look in my BB to find out how much I'm using, and need to know if there are any suggestions or tricks I can perform to free some up without deleting too many apps (if that's even possible). From the other forum answers I've read, I don't think there's a way to free space without deleting content. I see Device Memory in my Options, but it only says:
File Free: 27080648 Bytes
Is that a lot left, or is that close to being depleted? Is that actually the Device Memory, or is that something else? There's nowhere that tells me how much I started with.
I have recently upgraded from a 8520 to 9300 and Im having problems with the application memory free space. I only have 55.1MB of free space and I cant download apps in app world cos it uses up all the free space. My space has been as low as 6.1MB. This is my 2nd phone from Virgin as I had the problem with the 1st 9300 and I had to send it back and they said that it was a problem that cant be fixed so they sent me a reconditioned phone but this phone seems to have the same problem too.
I have a 4gb media card installed to save all my pics and music onto.
My micro SD slot ( the silver piece holding it in place) snapped off and now it cant hold my card.

First thing I want to do is get all the apps from my old phone to the new one. I have installed Opera Mini 5 but I have to say I miss being able to toggle through the links. Sometimes the rollerball can be too slow.
I used to listen to music via Radiotime on my old phone. However, that was with Windows Mobile and it doesn't quite work with this phone's browser. I saw the post about blueapple.mobi and quickly got that bookmarked. Right now I am looking for free apps to get me started. Especially a podcast/newsreader and a radio option for my phone.

View 1 Replies View RelatedEvery morning, I get a warning that says, "Device Memory Low Warning". Warning: Free Device memory is less than 4MB. Emails and Calendar events may start to be deleted by the Blackberry OS, a reboot is recommended. Clear Cache and Cancel buttons.
after the Clear Cache is hit a new warning message is displayed. The new warning says: "Available Memory Low. Please ensure clean-up options are running, delete old emails, empty trash, eliminate any any non-required data or applications. Notifylink requires a minimum of 20000 bytes free in order to send or receive. Recommend 500,000 bytes free. 20000 bytes need to be cleaned up." There is only an OK button on the screen. Device free is 5256483. My total database size is 1200.0k. There are no emails, trash items, or sent items in my Notifylink application.
If it is set to 12MB does this mean I only have that much storage for audio files?

It helped for a while but now I'm back to a slow crawl at times which has really caused some problems when VZ Navigator just freezes on me.I know if I can just clean the emails and text messages off the media card, but I can't figure out how to access the cards memory bu itself. I certainly don't want to clear the pictures off of it (it's only a couple but I'd rather not delete them) so I'd rather not format the card if I don't have to.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI've gone ahead and bought a 8GB Sandisk card because I don't want to be limited on the amount of music I can put on my player at any given time.For the most part the thing works(ed) like it was suppose to. Dragged over all my Media files from my 1gb and things have been cool ever since.Now while I take good care of my BB Curve 8320, it takes the odd fall here and there. Never enough to damage or mar the screen and these falls have happened WITH the new 8GB card inside.....up until today, when it took a bunny hop of a fall...and now the card is "Unreadable and needs formatting"
WTF? I'm all ready to format it, but whenever I try doing so using the Blackberry...it freezes. Whenever I try doing it on my computer...I get no response. I heard someone said to put it in the big SD adapter thing and try using it on a comp and formatting it there...I'll have to search for a comp with an SD drive to get that done in a bit...but incase that doesn't work...Do I have any other options?
This is absolute crap..when I opened the BB to see if the chip was dislodged, it wasn't...the BB won't read it now...it reads the other 1gb quite fine but not this one....and living in a third world country It's not like as is I can bomb over there and get another card for a decent price as opposed to purchasing a severly marked up one here. Has anyone ever had this sort of problem with any of the bigger model phones? I'm starting to think that this Curve thing is too 'delicate' for my liking.
I've got a few questions about my AT&T Curve 8310...I was looking through "Options > Applications" and saw that the app that took the most memory was "Content Store." Anyone know what this is, if I can delete it, & what would happen if I did? Is there any way to shrink this down some?
My address book takes up quite a bit of memory; so does my calendar -- both of which were synced from Outlook. Is there any way to have the addresses/calendar data stored onto my microSD instead of the device memory?
Lastly, I noticed that when I call people using my Curve, it shows up on their caller ID as "private name, private number." Where can I change this setting? Is it in my provider's settings (which I can access online) or on the BlackBerry's settings somewhere? Also, is it possible to at least NOT have it show private when calling those on my address book, such as friends & relatives?
The IPhone 5 has a Camera Roll, Photo Library and Photo Stream. (What the difference is, and have yet to read an explanation which makes any sense whatsoever to my technologically challenged self.) I want to save photos on my PC but remove them from my IPhone to free up space. So, while I have only a few dozen photos on the Camera Roll, and fewer in the Photo Library, I have hundreds in the photo stream.

I have read previous forum posts and I don't have the options that it is asking for. It says to BB -> Options -> Store Pictures -> change to card, but I don't have the options to Store Pictures. I emailed scandisk and they said its a common problem with nokias they put a password on the memory cards if you take them out and put them back in or update your phone etc. Scandisk have assured me that they do not make the memory cards to have passwords and its nokias fault. Can anyone pls help i cannot access my kids photos now and cannot afford to lose them No matter which phone i use it comes up enter password. Currently i am using nokia 6300 and 6600. One person on a different forum suggested going to file manager, settings, system folders, getting a file called MMCSTORE bluetooth to your pc open in notepad and password is in there. BUT i dont have anyone of these options in my phone especially file manager!
