View 2 RepliesWhy can't the BB OS use some of the removable memory card space to free up the internal memory. To me this is a no brainer, most of us have 16 or 32gig cards, I would be more than happy to set aside some space so the phone could run better. Most of the new flash cards these days are reasonably fast and could easily be used as a swap file place holder or reside some of the dormitory features.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have recently upgraded from a 8520 to 9300 and Im having problems with the application memory free space. I only have 55.1MB of free space and I cant download apps in app world cos it uses up all the free space. My space has been as low as 6.1MB. This is my 2nd phone from Virgin as I had the problem with the 1st 9300 and I had to send it back and they said that it was a problem that cant be fixed so they sent me a reconditioned phone but this phone seems to have the same problem too.
I have a 4gb media card installed to save all my pics and music onto.
I have a Telus Curve 8330 and only have about 2 mb left of space so the phone has been freezing. I have a 8 gb micro sd card in there and I wanted to save my apps and everything possible in there.

I have put a 4 GB memory card. How can I change the settings so that the applications install on memory card instead of device memory?
HOW CAN ICHECK THE MEMORY STATUS FOR BOTH THE PHONE MEMORY AND THE MEMORY CARD AND CAN I CHOOSE THE MEMORY CARD AS MY PRIMARY MEANS OF STORAGE ESPECIALLY FOR MUSIC AND PHOTOS.

View 14 Replies View RelatedMy phone memory has fallen down to 26.3 Mb. I know that I have a lot of applications installed. I've tried to install most of them in the card memory but many of them (especially from OVI Apps) used the phone memory ignoring my settings. I also want to move all my messages from phone to card memory but I don't find a way to do it.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an E75 for a few months now and I have a problem that totally confuses me: I constantly keep getting the System Message that my Internal Memory C: is full and that I need to either delete files or move them to the flash memory. Sometimes it also refuses to open emails, because of the lack of memory.
The sad part is that almost all of my data already is on the flash card, not on the internal drive. There's literally nothing left to delete from the internal memory. I also tried deleting my personal data from the web browser, but it didn't help much. I checked the data that is stored on the internal memory and it is about 18MB while the phone's file manager sais I have only about 2MB free memory left. 20 MB total memory size seems a little small to me, shouldn't it be 50MB?
So i was out earlier in the snow, and to my annoyance, it kept beeping saying 'memory full' and then i just click ok. And there obviously wasn't much memory since when people called me it played the default tune which is a sign that it is low on memory. However i look at the phone memory 35mb free.Look at the open applications, and apart from the contacts there was nothing else, but i closed the contacts never the less. However it still kept saying this. However it has seemed to stop now and be fine but never the less i would still like to know if there is any reason that i haven't thought of, of why it might have been saying this?
View 13 Replies View RelatedI am using a Nokia E6, Belle version. I have a simple problem. But the answer to this has not been satisfactory in any forum. My phone memory (C drive) is low, and a warning message keeps popping up. I have done all that I can to free up memory.
1) I have no image, video or any other multimedia stored in the phone memory
2) I am using only one mailbox (active sync - gmail)
3) Only WhatsApp has been installed in the phone memory by default (nobody can install WhatsApp in any other location than the phone memory)
4) Lastly, no other application is installed in my phone memory, other than system files
5)I use a data plan that is always "on"
I want to know what is taking up so much of the phone memory when I have nothing except system files in the C drive?Nokia support give the standard reply -- clean messages, move multimedia from phone memory, etc. But this is illogical since I have no multimedia in C drive. I can't see anything that needs to be moved or cleaned. Also, when I check the memory status, I get at least 300 MB used in the "Others" category of the phone memory. What is this "others" category? I want to access that damn folder and delete everything in it.When I check my phone memory in morning, I have 70 MB free. By noon it comes down to 50 MB. By 7 pm the free memory is less than 5 MB, and then the warnings come.Like I told you, I am using only WhatsApp and Active Sync, is it possible that these two are the culprits? Are they continously downloading something and storing it in my C drive?I request you not to give me the standard "clean your drive" reply since it is not working in my case. Can anybody just tell me what is this "others" folder in C drive that shows up when you long press the drive in the file manager application? How can I free up memory in my C drive? Please, no more standard replies that don't work.
Obviously there are not too many still using the Nokia E72 around here. But of those having updated to firmware version 91.003 how much free mem there is after startup, i.e. with PhoNetInfo or a similar application? With 73.001 I have about 40 to 41MB with unused apps deinstalled or turned off.
View 1 Replies View RelatedOn nokia E55 i get once a day this error:
Contacts: Memory Full! Close some applications and try again.
My firmware version is 022.009.c00.1
This is a new phone and i have not installed any additional apllications. Also if i got this error i checked i don't have any running applications.
I am getting this error on a daily basis since the f/w update to V21.When I get the error I check available memory via taskman and I usually have 40+MB in my RAM available.Even when I close all apps and have 55mb free I get the error. To add to this, it usually happens when I charge the phone overnight. In the morning the screen lock vibration feature dissapears and soon thereafter I start getting the memory full error.
View 22 Replies View RelatedI'm on a 5800 and I'm currently on firmware v40. Ever since I've upgraded, my mobile browsing experience has suffered. Sometimes when I'm surfing the net, a message will appear on the lines of "Memory Full: Please close some applications." This occurs even when the browser (usually Opera Mobile, but it happens on Symbian just as often) is the only app open and used to occur only on CNN but now it has started occurring elsewhere. Also, since I've updated to v40, I have been unable to open a second tab without crashing the browser. Has anyone else had this problem? What was your fix?

View 1 Replies View Relatedwhen ever i do hard format in my symbian belle, i cant see the apps installed in my memory card while when i check the files via 3rd party app like x-plore, i found they r present. The application manager ie- in ''already installed'' also don't show any apps. Thus i always have to re install those apps and due to this some missing apps that r already installed in the card simply uses some amount of free space that is for no use So tell me if there any way to prevent the apps from not showing in menu as well in app manager after hard reset.
View 1 Replies View RelatedBought a E72 form ebay few months back.Immediately updated it.Now the only software i ever have open on it (running always) is whatsapp.I am CONSTANTLY getting error messages saying 'Memory Full close some appliations'I was using whatsapp on my E63 which is supposed to be lower spec than an E72 and NEVER had these issues with my E63.Have read a few topics on here regarding this and have downloaded a software called NetQin which has told me that RAM: Memory is 112/199 literally within 20 seconds after starting up the phone. It says the only startup item is whatsapp. Which is all i have running currently.I do have the latest mapping ovi software on here which is only run when i choose to run it.
View 8 Replies View RelatedNow I know this is a simple question but I figure most people are pretty switched on in this forum so should be able to help me quite easily.I have a Nokia 5500 sport with symbian S60 I believe running on it. Now the OS is horribly slow at loading the alarm clock and contacts, takes 6 seconds for the alarm and maybe 2-3 for the contacts. If I open the alarms, then the main menu and click alarms again, it loads instantly. I imagine this is because I never pressed exit and it was still resident in memory. Now I do not run many apps, basically just the essential stuff like SMS, contacts, alarms and contacts, I imagine all of these apps would fit in memory at once quite easily, is there an option to force apps to stay resident? Or perhaps instead of having 'exit' change the button to be 'home' so that they stay running in the background?I'm sure what I want to do is possible, I am just not sure how to do.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have had a Nokia 6120 for some time now and it has never given me any trouble.Until about a month ago it just stopped sending messages,It would say "General: Memory full, close some applications and try again" I have tried everything I can ever think of for a whole month and nothing seemed to work so I thought I might have a look on here.
Here's an update to the problem:
I was able to track down the problem to the settings by backing up the entire phone, doing a factory reset (*#7370# with lock code 12345), then reloading the sections one at a time to see which one screwed it up. Whenever I loaded settings, the problem seemed to return. So there you have it.Make a backup and reload everything except settings if you want this problem to go away. Or write angry letters to Nokia to get them to put out higher quality software for an $800-$1000 smart. This is by far the most frustrating problem I've had with a cell phone, and there's no reason a stupid bug like this should exist on so many handsets (not just E90, it seems to be a problem on the E71 and several other phones) for so long.
C'mon Nokia!
The thing is, I'm not a real technology geek and I have no idea what this means I have restored all factory settings with the lock code 12345 but that didn't change any affect to my problem so what does this post mean I have to do?
