I am having problems installing the latest Maps. It insists on loading into the C: I have tried Memory Reorganiser and I have set Ovi Store to load apps to E: but every time it loads to C: I have firmware firmware version 20.0.019. Does anybody have any suggestions please.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have been having problems with my N97 for the past 4 months but has got really bad the past few days. I've had the phone for 9 months and works reasonably well most of the time.I have been running out of space on the C drive now only 500kb. No matter what I do (clearing web cache, deleting apps, trying to remove anything I can see) it rapidily loses the space again. Mb's go in hrs and even after clearing web cache. Last night I upgraded the software version to v20.0.019 and also ran the tool (forgotten the name) that attempts to move things from C drive to other drives. My emails do not take much space, I can't move them to E drive as using UK Three's email client for work email and it says it has to use the C drive but don't hink that is the issue. As soon as I clear some space it goes again.
Also after installing this new version I can no longer use my Hotmail email account or any other email client on the phone even after deleting. Also the wireless Nokia keyboard I had has stopped working now with the new version.
It's about to become useless for email or anything very soon. I have a warranty and cover for it, just wondering if it sounds like I need to use that now as is about to become an expensive brick I think.
My N8 "phone memory C drive" is FULL. Applications are freezing, crashing, the phone is self restarting.
I see memory phone of 256 MB full with USB connected to PC. When I look inside the folders, nothing in some, no large file in others.
1. Why the phone memory is full? I did not install apps on the C drive aka phone memory, I did not put photos, videos or anything there, I don't use email.
2. Why I cannot find the files that occupy the memory? No large file can be seen.
3. Is this the cause of phone auto restarting and the cause some applications are crashing, closing in front of my eyes or in the background?
Why when I receive a simple call and I have only a game open after the call ends the game is already crashed / closed?
I have always been careful that whenever I have loaded a new app onto my Nokia 5800 that I have chosen to load it onto my 8GB memory card in the phone but now I am greeted in the phones file manger that c: only has 1.5mb memory left! and the other day I even got a message that drice c was full even though I was loading an app to the SD card in the phone - If I go through the file manger to C: there are folders but are empty, and if I used another app such as y browser or xplore - I find files on c but cannot delete them (presumably because nokia has locked them so they cannot be removed or because they are system files) so is there anything I can do? - I don't really want to go down the route of doing a full reset/format of the phone if I can avoid it.

C drive space issue. An install failed and now megs of space from my phone are gone. Can I delete anything from this dir without messing up my phone?
View 1 Replies View RelatedStarted to prepare for installation of the new Belle for my N8-00 but during step 2 of the installation (back up) a red expression mark appears telling me that "there is not enough space on the computer. Minimum requirement is 1,5GB on the e: drive. Please delete or move 0 MB from \e-enheten" (direct translation from Swedish version of Nokia suite, please see attached pic). I successfully made a back up using the common steps earlier today.The issue is that I don't even have an e-drive on my computer. C: is there (of course) then a whole bunch of network drives from my office network (F: ->X but no e: The only e-drive I have is the one on the phone and there I have enough space available.I have the latest version of Nokia suite btw (3.3.86).
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a BlackBerry 8330 and I am having problems with my SprintTV, NFL Mobile Live App, etc where I cannot watch any video or audio from those apps. I took it into a Sprint Tech Store, and they thought that maybe it was becuase I either had an after market App that was interfereing with the audio/video feeds, or that I was simply using too much memory and it was interfereing with the audio/video. Tehy couldn't tell me where to look for the Device Memory and had no idea how much it came with out of the box and how much I was using.
I need to know how much Device Memory comes on a BB 8330, where to look in my BB to find out how much I'm using, and need to know if there are any suggestions or tricks I can perform to free some up without deleting too many apps (if that's even possible). From the other forum answers I've read, I don't think there's a way to free space without deleting content. I see Device Memory in my Options, but it only says:
File Free: 27080648 Bytes
Is that a lot left, or is that close to being depleted? Is that actually the Device Memory, or is that something else? There's nowhere that tells me how much I started with.
Is it possible to switch what available memory is used for applications in my blackberry? Right now it shows my phone as having only about 20MB of space left for apps in it (all I've downloaded is Facebook mobile, 1 theme, and 2 games from app world). I have an 8GB card in my phone - can i set it where the memory for saving apps is the card instead of the on board memory? I can't find an option to switch it in the phone, but I'm not sure if I'm looking in the right places.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI moved to BlackBerry Bold 9700 about two weeks ago. Everything works great, except for one issue. Images in my HTML email messages don't download. I have tried all combinations of settings on automatically download images and confirm images download, in the Options > Email Settings menu. What happens is: When I hard reset the phone (take out the battery and reinsert it), and then do Get Images, images download. However, this continues only for some 3-4 hours, or say about 10-15 messages. After a point, Get Images doesn't download images. Even the arrows on the top right of the screen, that indicate an attempt to download, don't come. It almost seems like the phone has kept a limited space aside to download images in HTML messages, and this space is filled up and hence it stops downloading. The moment the battery is taken out and reinserted, Get Images works. But again for some time only.Tried taking Vodafone's help. They updated my Service Book, which according to them is the "standard solution" to Images downloading problem. But nothing happened. Which is expected, because they were possibly giving me a solution for images never downloading. In my case, they download for a bit, and then refuse to, till hard reset.Tried finding where any memory related settings could be there. Found a thing in Settings > Memory > Compression. Tried both Enabled and Disabled, it doesn't help.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a question on the "Memory" usage in BB Bold 9000 that i own.When I install APPS from BB App World, it shows me memory bar and now it has reached to 10 MB FREE (IN RED - which obviously means it is too low.)
Questions :
1) Does this mean that I wont be able to install more apps as those 10 MB will exhaust pretty soon?
2) Is there a way to install apps elsewhere if the above is true? I have a 8 GB MicroSD card installed. Would it work normally?

View 14 Replies View RelatedOk, I search the web and the forum, but did not find a definite answer on this. I installed X-plore in my N97 today. I had some issues this morning with the phone telling me there were memory issues and showing my 32 gb drive down to just 1.2 mb!!! My phone basically stopped working and I had to restarted about 4 times. I synced the phone and all of the sudden it was fine. (By the way, I installed X-plore after the issue).
Anyway, X-plore is showing the following:
C: 16.1mb free / 73 mb
D: 50.2mb free / 50.2 mb
E: 21.1 gb free / 29.8 gb
F: 7.3 gb free / 7.3 gb
Z: 0 kb / 0kb
Why is X-plore showing drives D and Z? What are those? Is D the ram? Does this mean my N97 is "Ok"?Now, the default file manager shows the following:
C: 16.2 free
E: 21.2 gb free
F: 7.4 gb free
It does not show the D drive? Can I improve my C drive? I've tried most of the suggestions on this site and others and I only get 16 mb free. I only have Nokia Maps installed and all the applications install on drive E. I don't know what else to do?
I've installed OVI Maps 3.03 over Maps 3.01. Poor me! Now I have 2.5 Mb left on my C drive. Vs. 16 Mb as of yesterday. Should I add that "application manager - installed apps" does not start anymore?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI noticed my phone going really slow, when I went into the c: folder on the included file manager of the phone it said I had only 3mb free space. After getting rid of bluetooth sis files in the messages folder and clearing the internet cahe I now have showing on drive c: free space of 23.2MB - good I suppose but I want to see if I can free up more space as the phone I believe does have around 80mb total (I know i should expect that system files of the phone will take up space but this much?) so anyway I suppose what I am is asking how I can free up more space as I cant see any more files I can delete on C: going through the inbuilt file manager and using windows file manager. I suppose I could use an app like y-browser or active file manager or whatever the app is called but its quite time consuming doing it through the phone, i would rather if anyone knows of an windows xp application where I can link up my Nokia 5800 by USB cable and run an XP app which will hunt out all files on C: including hidden/system and other files. i know I am going into dangerous terrotory of seeing system files and deleting them and bricking the phone but if I could see some hidden pictures and sound that I dont use and they are not tied to system files then I could delete them and get some more files back on C: - or has anyone know what else I could clear on the phone to give me back more than 23mb?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using a Nokia E6, Belle version. I have a simple problem. But the answer to this has not been satisfactory in any forum. My phone memory (C drive) is low, and a warning message keeps popping up. I have done all that I can to free up memory.
1) I have no image, video or any other multimedia stored in the phone memory
2) I am using only one mailbox (active sync - gmail)
3) Only WhatsApp has been installed in the phone memory by default (nobody can install WhatsApp in any other location than the phone memory)
4) Lastly, no other application is installed in my phone memory, other than system files
5)I use a data plan that is always "on"
I want to know what is taking up so much of the phone memory when I have nothing except system files in the C drive?Nokia support give the standard reply -- clean messages, move multimedia from phone memory, etc. But this is illogical since I have no multimedia in C drive. I can't see anything that needs to be moved or cleaned.Also, when I check the memory status, I get at least 300 MB used in the "Others" category of the phone memory. What is this "others" category? I want to access that damn folder and delete everything in it.When I check my phone memory in morning, I have 70 MB free. By noon it comes down to 50 MB. By 7 pm the free memory is less than 5 MB, and then the warnings come.Like I told you, I am using only WhatsApp and Active Sync, is it possible that these two are the culprits? Are they continously downloading something and storing it in my C drive?I request you not to give me the standard "clean your drive" reply since it is not working in my case. Can anybody just tell me what is this "others" folder in C drive that shows up when you long press the drive in the file manager application? How can I free up memory in my C drive? My C: memory is showing as full when I try to clear it through the phone file manager despite looking through all folders I cannot identify any large files on it and the same is the case when I try to look through my pc software.
When I hold on the C: memory and look at the memory details it shows 131mb of messages even though I have deleted all txt messages and emails, 46mb of SIS applications I can't see these in the file manager and 72mb of other files which I assume are the OS files.
When I open some applications on my Nokia X3, I get a message that there is not enough memory available, and to select an application to close.Is there a way I can see which applications are open? I'd like to close any application that was not required.
View 5 Replies View RelatedRecently i installed easy debian package to my N900.. & yesterday i tried uninstalling it..i removed easy debian & easy chroot from app mgr & then deleted the debian image from the home directory..
but for some reason since morning my memotyr that is reserved for installed applications is acting weird..it used to show 1.8GB free but now suddenly only shows 900mb free , in the mornign it shwed only 183mb free etc.. and when i copy some pictures using mass stroage mode my 2GB memory space gets reduced... my RSS folders stopped working since last night... dont know what is going on.. acting really weird.. did I not complete the uninstallation of easy debian?
I recently pirchased nokia X6 16 gb... its totally fresh i haven't put any songs, or files in it.. but when i see the memory status: for phone memory it shows 276 mb free(out of 512 mb) and used is 44 mb where as in internal memory 334 mb is used and 14.6 gb is free.. where are the remaining space

To me this is a no brainer, most of us have 16 or 32gig cards, I would be more than happy to set aside some space so the phone could run better. Most of the new flash cards these days are reasonably fast and could easily be used as a swap file place holder or reside some of the dormitory features.
