Nokia Nseries :: Getting Some C Drive Space Back?
Mar 14, 2012Some of the biggest apps taking up space on my C drive are:
Qt - 11 MB
Nokia Maps Engine - 7.8 MB
Qt Web Kit - 5.3 MB
Am I am able to move these to E - or remove them?

Nokia Nseries :: N8 Hard Drive Space Requirements During Installation
Feb 13, 2012Started to prepare for installation of the new Belle for my N8-00 but during step 2 of the installation (back up) a red expression mark appears telling me that "there is not enough space on the computer. Minimum requirement is 1,5GB on the e: drive. Please delete or move 0 MB from \e-enheten" (direct translation from Swedish version of Nokia suite, please see attached pic). I successfully made a back up using the common steps earlier today.The issue is that I don't even have an e-drive on my computer. C: is there (of course) then a whole bunch of network drives from my office network (F: ->X but no e: The only e-drive I have is the one on the phone and there I have enough space available.I have the latest version of Nokia suite btw (3.3.86).

Apr 8, 2010I have been having problems with my N97 for the past 4 months but has got really bad the past few days. I've had the phone for 9 months and works reasonably well most of the time.I have been running out of space on the C drive now only 500kb. No matter what I do (clearing web cache, deleting apps, trying to remove anything I can see) it rapidily loses the space again. Mb's go in hrs and even after clearing web cache. Last night I upgraded the software version to v20.0.019 and also ran the tool (forgotten the name) that attempts to move things from C drive to other drives. My emails do not take much space, I can't move them to E drive as using UK Three's email client for work email and it says it has to use the C drive but don't hink that is the issue. As soon as I clear some space it goes again.
Also after installing this new version I can no longer use my Hotmail email account or any other email client on the phone even after deleting. Also the wireless Nokia keyboard I had has stopped working now with the new version.
It's about to become useless for email or anything very soon. I have a warranty and cover for it, just wondering if it sounds like I need to use that now as is about to become an expensive brick I think.
Nokia :: 5800 Drive C Free Space Low
Jul 19, 2010I have always been careful that whenever I have loaded a new app onto my Nokia 5800 that I have chosen to load it onto my 8GB memory card in the phone but now I am greeted in the phones file manger that c: only has 1.5mb memory left! and the other day I even got a message that drice c was full even though I was loading an app to the SD card in the phone - If I go through the file manger to C: there are folders but are empty, and if I used another app such as y browser or xplore - I find files on c but cannot delete them (presumably because nokia has locked them so they cannot be removed or because they are system files) so is there anything I can do? - I don't really want to go down the route of doing a full reset/format of the phone if I can avoid it.

Jul 1, 2010I noticed my phone going really slow, when I went into the c: folder on the included file manager of the phone it said I had only 3mb free space. After getting rid of bluetooth sis files in the messages folder and clearing the internet cahe I now have showing on drive c: free space of 23.2MB - good I suppose but I want to see if I can free up more space as the phone I believe does have around 80mb total (I know i should expect that system files of the phone will take up space but this much?) so anyway I suppose what I am is asking how I can free up more space as I cant see any more files I can delete on C: going through the inbuilt file manager and using windows file manager. I suppose I could use an app like y-browser or active file manager or whatever the app is called but its quite time consuming doing it through the phone, i would rather if anyone knows of an windows xp application where I can link up my Nokia 5800 by USB cable and run an XP app which will hunt out all files on C: including hidden/system and other files. i know I am going into dangerous terrotory of seeing system files and deleting them and bricking the phone but if I could see some hidden pictures and sound that I dont use and they are not tied to system files then I could delete them and get some more files back on C: - or has anyone know what else I could clear on the phone to give me back more than 23mb?

All installs are on the mass memory, emails and messages have been cleared out (gives back a couple of Meg) i'm down to 52Meg at the moment. I reformatted once (back to about 120Meg) and since then it's shrunk and continiues to get smaller!

May 13, 2012Does anyone have a fix for the C drive filling up on N8 Belle?The suggestions in the FAQ and on various forums to delete emails, clear caches, delete photos etc are only temporary. Some people have said that re-installing Belle fixes the problem but it sounds like this too is only temporary.I am seeing MBs of space being eaten up by something, through normal use even when I perform these cleaning tasks regularly and don't install anything new. Anyway the amount of space taken up by a few emails is miniscule by at least an order of magnitude compared to the amount of space that's disappearing (kBs compared to MBs). It looks like something more fundamental is at play a resource leak somewhere, perhaps a process that's creating temporary files but not clearing them up afterwards.

Aug 23, 2011My C: memory is showing as full when I try to clear it through the phone file manager despite looking through all folders I cannot identify any large files on it and the same is the case when I try to look through my pc software.
When I hold on the C: memory and look at the memory details it shows 131mb of messages even though I have deleted all txt messages and emails, 46mb of SIS applications I can't see these in the file manager and 72mb of other files which I assume are the OS files.

Oct 3, 2012Since updating to Belle FP2 yesterday on my 808 Pureview, Maps and all map related apps won't open, they simply close straight away. Tried resetting the settingso n the phone and updating the maps on the Nokia Store. Now I'm stuck. Nokia drive was my second reason for buying the phone after the camera, so I'm a bit distraught lol. I've been making fun of my iOS6 friends the last couple of weeks about their maps and now I feel a bit foolish.

Dec 9, 2010My N8 "phone memory C drive" is FULL. Applications are freezing, crashing, the phone is self restarting.
I see memory phone of 256 MB full with USB connected to PC. When I look inside the folders, nothing in some, no large file in others.
1. Why the phone memory is full? I did not install apps on the C drive aka phone memory, I did not put photos, videos or anything there, I don't use email.
2. Why I cannot find the files that occupy the memory? No large file can be seen.
3. Is this the cause of phone auto restarting and the cause some applications are crashing, closing in front of my eyes or in the background?
Why when I receive a simple call and I have only a game open after the call ends the game is already crashed / closed?

Dec 5, 2014I updated my iphone 5S, which I regret because it made my music app unplayable. I backed it up before updating, while trying to restore my phone from that back up an error message pops up sayif there is not enough room to restore from back up. There's 16.6 GB used and 10.2GB available. I read online that I can go to settinga > general > erase all content and settings, and that would free up the space to restore from back up. However I had this same issue on my old phone and no matter how much I deleted from my phone there still wasn't enough room to restore from back up. So I'm concerned that if I do clear my phone by erasing all content and settings that I will still be unable to restore my phone from back up and then I'll just be screwed.
