my N8 with Nokia Belle tells me there is a software update -- Upload to SkyDrive -- and I have the notification icon in the notification bar. But I do not want or need to install this update. How do I hide the notification and delete the update from my phone. You used to be able to ignore updates, now I can't seem to find out how. Is this another enhancement from Nokia Belle?

All installs are on the mass memory, emails and messages have been cleared out (gives back a couple of Meg) i'm down to 52Meg at the moment. I reformatted once (back to about 120Meg) and since then it's shrunk and continiues to get smaller!

The C: drive on my N97 contains quite some debris. And I want to clean it up. So I did a hard reset: LeftShift+Space+BkSpace+On . Yet this seems to leave the C drive untouched. For instance, MfE log files are still there and I did not install MfE yet. How do I format the C: drive?
View 6 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone have a fix for the C drive filling up on N8 Belle?The suggestions in the FAQ and on various forums to delete emails, clear caches, delete photos etc are only temporary. Some people have said that re-installing Belle fixes the problem but it sounds like this too is only temporary.I am seeing MBs of space being eaten up by something, through normal use even when I perform these cleaning tasks regularly and don't install anything new. Anyway the amount of space taken up by a few emails is miniscule by at least an order of magnitude compared to the amount of space that's disappearing (kBs compared to MBs). It looks like something more fundamental is at play a resource leak somewhere, perhaps a process that's creating temporary files but not clearing them up afterwards.

But today, having refreshed the Music Library after installing Pipemania from OVI Store, I found out that its sound files are all there, among songs. I most certainly don't want to hear some splashing water in my shuffle, so I need to find a way to hide them from the library.

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy C: memory is showing as full when I try to clear it through the phone file manager despite looking through all folders I cannot identify any large files on it and the same is the case when I try to look through my pc software.
When I hold on the C: memory and look at the memory details it shows 131mb of messages even though I have deleted all txt messages and emails, 46mb of SIS applications I can't see these in the file manager and 72mb of other files which I assume are the OS files.
I have n8 with Anna . When I record video it records it on E drive . How can I assign my Micro SD ( the F drive) for video recording

Tried resetting the settingso n the phone and updating the maps on the Nokia Store. Now I'm stuck. Nokia drive was my second reason for buying the phone after the camera, so I'm a bit distraught lol. I've been making fun of my iOS6 friends the last couple of weeks about their maps and now I feel a bit foolish.

View 4 Replies View RelatedStarted to prepare for installation of the new Belle for my N8-00 but during step 2 of the installation (back up) a red expression mark appears telling me that "there is not enough space on the computer. Minimum requirement is 1,5GB on the e: drive. Please delete or move 0 MB from \e-enheten" (direct translation from Swedish version of Nokia suite, please see attached pic). I successfully made a back up using the common steps earlier today.The issue is that I don't even have an e-drive on my computer. C: is there (of course) then a whole bunch of network drives from my office network (F: ->X but no e: The only e-drive I have is the one on the phone and there I have enough space available.I have the latest version of Nokia suite btw (3.3.86).

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am doing a favour for my in-laws to take some photos inside some house that they are thinking of purchasing (they live at the other side of the country and can't travel to view it).
My photos are automatically uploaded to my sky drive over mobile so sharing an album with them and they can view the photos in real time as I am taking photos (in theory!). Trouble is.... any photos I take goes to the camera roll folder/album. Is there anyway I can make any photos I snap to go to a certain album instead of camera roll?
Or does it sound like I need to get a specific app (though will it auto upload I wonder?)

View 19 Replies View RelatedMy N8 "phone memory C drive" is FULL. Applications are freezing, crashing, the phone is self restarting.
I see memory phone of 256 MB full with USB connected to PC. When I look inside the folders, nothing in some, no large file in others.
1. Why the phone memory is full? I did not install apps on the C drive aka phone memory, I did not put photos, videos or anything there, I don't use email.
2. Why I cannot find the files that occupy the memory? No large file can be seen.
3. Is this the cause of phone auto restarting and the cause some applications are crashing, closing in front of my eyes or in the background?
Why when I receive a simple call and I have only a game open after the call ends the game is already crashed / closed?
I have tried everything to try and resolve my issues but have not been able to do so.
First, I accidently hid a picture by checking the 'hide' field. Now how do you get it back?! I've had a couple of my friends with the same phone try and figure it out and they havent been able to.Secondly, when I choose a picture to be my wallpaper, it shows in a zoomed in version of the top left corner of the picture. I do recall when I was choosing the picture to set as my wallpaper, that I zoomed in on it before setting it, but used the 'back' key to remove the zoom feature. It appeared ok on the screen but set the wallpaper as the zoomed in picture. Now it doesn't matter which picture I choose, I get on the top left side, zoomed in showing up on my wallpaper. - even though it appears normal before setting it.
all of a sudden my icons lost color. not all of them, but most of them. when i tried to hide icons that i do not use, it would not hide them. and i cannot recharge my phone from the auto. i have tried other autos and different chargers, the electric charger works fine too.

it seems that i set destination, it finds me and my destination fine, i click start, it gives the first direction fine, i start driving and nothing, "my position" on the display doesn't move, the only way i can update it is "stop navigation" then "set destination" again where it picks up my new location.
i've ensured location services are on, location within the app is turned on, i've checked my connection is "online"...are there any other settings i should be aware of?

i am using it in a windscreen mount that grips the top and bottom of the phone with little "arms", i've tried in both landscape and portrait orientation. bluetooth is on and hoping to be playing music at the same time eventually.

Previously I set the inbox setting "Hide email older than" to 3 days only in Account settings ->What to synchronize->Inbox settings->Hide email older than, and I was able to select the options available. Then suddenly today I'm not able to change the setting, it is set default to 2 weeks. I tried changing it back to 3 days, but there is this message saying "unable to edit read-only settings".

I have been having problems with my N97 for the past 4 months but has got really bad the past few days. I've had the phone for 9 months and works reasonably well most of the time.I have been running out of space on the C drive now only 500kb. No matter what I do (clearing web cache, deleting apps, trying to remove anything I can see) it rapidily loses the space again. Mb's go in hrs and even after clearing web cache. Last night I upgraded the software version to v20.0.019 and also ran the tool (forgotten the name) that attempts to move things from C drive to other drives. My emails do not take much space, I can't move them to E drive as using UK Three's email client for work email and it says it has to use the C drive but don't hink that is the issue. As soon as I clear some space it goes again.
Also after installing this new version I can no longer use my Hotmail email account or any other email client on the phone even after deleting. Also the wireless Nokia keyboard I had has stopped working now with the new version.
It's about to become useless for email or anything very soon. I have a warranty and cover for it, just wondering if it sounds like I need to use that now as is about to become an expensive brick I think.
