Nokia Nseries :: N8: Hide Game Sounds From Music Library?
Sep 27, 2011
I didn't have this problem before -- usually games keep their sounds to themselves. But today, having refreshed the Music Library after installing Pipemania from OVI Store, I found out that its sound files are all there, among songs. I most certainly don't want to hear some splashing water in my shuffle, so I need to find a way to hide them from the library.
I want to hide my personal ringtones (on the mass storage drive) from my Music library as it is quite annoying to hear your ringtones when listening to good music. The folder with the Nokia ringtones I can't find.
I wanted to add just one new song onto my N97, it was a song that I heard on the radio and liked so I purchased it on iTunes added it to a playlist and transferred it to my N97 using NMT. This all went fine until I tried refreshing the music library, no matter what I did the refresh would not find the additional song. I checked the transfer using YBrowser and sure enough the song had been transferred and the playlist had the new song added (I could even play it in the file browser) but this would not update in the music player. I had to delete all 4.7GB of music off my N97 (including the playlists) using NMT then disconnect the phone and refresh the library, the music library then displayed 0 songs. Then using NMT I had to reload all of the music and refresh the library, this time it worked. As you can imagine deleting and reloading 4.7GB (thankfully I don't have more music on my phone) of data takes quite a bit of time, all to add just one new 8MB song.

I remember for sure that I used refresh in the music player of Belle FP1 on my 701. It was in options>library>refresh. Now I just couldn't find the same. Where did it go lol.
Lifetime Nokia fan but struggling to get my head around some N8 funnies:
I have some MP3s that I want to use as ringtones. However, I don't want them to show in my Music Library (if I'm listening on shuffle I don't want these sound clips to play in the middle of them). I was wondering if anyone had any tips on how this might be achieved? I've tried all different directories and transfer methods but can't work it out..
I have been using N86 for the past 2-3 years and this week I switched to nokia n8, I upgraded it to belle the very first day and everything seems to be working well n good except for this thing. I have above 700 songs in my music library and there is no way to mark multiple songs in the music library of nokia n8 so that I can add them to specific playlists. Is there some simpler way to do this maybe I am missing it because its my first experience with a touch phone. OR has nokia been so ignorant that this feature was not implemented in this OS, which I personally think is not possible (cos I don't expect such a thing from Nokia btw). I don't want to long press every single song and then add to playlist and repeat the same process for above 700 records it will take me a whole day I guess.
I am using nokia 5230. The problem is whenever I select option Refresh Library, the device is unable to load new music files which I have transferred to memory card using PC suite. Music player is unable to load music files which are stored in memory card. I even updated the phone software but unable to solve this problem, but other files such as videos and images. I am able to see in gallery. Only problem is with the music files.....

How do I hide name and email even to game center friends? I would like to play anonymously, is this possible? I just do not want anyone seeing my name or email and having to deal with spam etc.... the fewer people who know my email the better.
I sync photo albums from my HD to my iPhone using iTunes and the albums show fine on the phone, but I can't get rid of the golly darn PhotoLibrary album. If it has to exist to hold the photos, no problem,BUT I don't want it to SHOW---have tried everything for hours, except something that will work. And why can't I drag and drop images to the phone and not have the pain of iTunes?
from several months I've a problem with my music player. i can't listen my songs, they don't appear in my music library and when I enter in it - ''General: system error". Instead of song I've got ''qtn_lgal_list_title_..." ..i tried to delete them but i couldn't. I updated software, but the problem doesn't disappear.
When i removed my usb cable, the phone said device error then when i went to playlist all the music were gone. If i try to refresh nothing happens, i have removed the data from the card, and put it back still nothing. When i connect with usb cable i can see and even play the music on my laptop. There is still nothing under my playlist the music is still playing under tones but its not showing in my music files and not refreshing.
my N8 with Nokia Belle tells me there is a software update -- Upload to SkyDrive -- and I have the notification icon in the notification bar. But I do not want or need to install this update. How do I hide the notification and delete the update from my phone. You used to be able to ignore updates, now I can't seem to find out how. Is this another enhancement from Nokia Belle?
I have an issue with my music library not updating folder/genre information when I refresh. Songs are present and correct but the folder will not update (i.e. I deleted a song but the number on the folder does not show this change or I removed a specific genre but that genre folder remains)- I have seen this issue with a number of Nokia music player phones and was wondering if anything was ever resolved, There was a workaround for the 5800 (show hidden folders and delete a load of .dat files) but this does not work for my C7 with Belle?
when I rip and store my CDs in my PC with Ovi Media Player everything's fine, as I see them tagged correctly; then I transfer my music files into the phone (with Ovi Media Player or Ovi Suite) and many of them miss their TAG, showing "Unknown Artist" and "Unknown Album" in the Music Player of the phone.
After updating to the latest software, my Music Player in phone missing with "Refresh Music Library". Now it has only these following things under options.
Songs
Playlists
Genres
Podcasts
Music Library Details
About Application
Userguide

How can I re-install music player in phone to get that option? I have lots of music in phone, but it cannot find anything. Everytime when I open Music Player, it search for music, then says nothing found.
Nokia E72-1, software version 054.005.I can't see the option to refresh my music library. If I go in the Music Library, in the Options menu I have:Go to Now playing Go to Music store Music Library Details I've just synched my phone with iTunes by using Nokia Multimedia Transfer, and the files have been copied on my memory card under Sound filesiTunes Music and they play correctly from the file manager, but there's not way to "see" them in the Music Library. Note that the Nokia website explicitly says that the Music Library should be refreshed after a sync.[URL]...

Trekbuddy stores map snippets on the phone, hundreds of little images in graphical format (JPEGs or PNGS).When I go into "Photos", Under "All"I see thousands of pictures because the phone finds all the map snippets. How can I hide the map snippets from the "Photo" galery?
it is possible to transfer your music library from a 1st gen Ipod touch to your itunes library on a Mac book pro. I have alomost 3000 songs as well as playlists on my Ipod and cant find anyway to transfer theses to my itunes library, meaning i can't add them to my 4s.
I have succesfully transferred the mp3 files to the memory card, but after I chose "Refresh Library", it keep searching and can't update the song to the playlist
after i sync music from ovi player then i refresh the music library in the phone it shows "operation failed. file is corrupted .. 0 files added " ... but it actually adds the new songs.
Is there any chance to get music files from usb otg into the music library? With the file manager I can only play one title at once, when there are hundreds of mp3's stored on the usb drive. The player shows free space on usb-drive but no title list.
I wanted to add just one new song onto my N97, it was a song that I heard on the radio and liked so I purchased it on iTunes added it to a playlist and transferred it to my N97 using NMT. Has anyone else experienced this?
