View 3 RepliesWhen i removed my usb cable, the phone said device error then when i went to playlist all the music were gone. If i try to refresh nothing happens, i have removed the data from the card, and put it back still nothing. When i connect with usb cable i can see and even play the music on my laptop. There is still nothing under my playlist the music is still playing under tones but its not showing in my music files and not refreshing.

Songs are present and correct but the folder will not update (i.e. I deleted a song but the number on the folder does not show this change or I removed a specific genre but that genre folder remains)- I have seen this issue with a number of Nokia music player phones and was wondering if anything was ever resolved, There was a workaround for the 5800 (show hidden folders and delete a load of .dat files) but this does not work for my C7 with Belle?

If I go in the Music Library, in the Options menu I have:Go to Now playing Go to Music store Music Library Details I've just synched my phone with iTunes by using Nokia Multimedia Transfer, and the files have been copied on my memory card under Sound filesiTunes Music and they play correctly from the file manager, but there's not way to "see" them in the Music Library. View 10 Replies View RelatedI was having trouble connecting my nokia 5800 as MTP device to my windows 7 machine. After reading some suggestions on the forum I removed my memory card and vola it recognized the nokia 5800 as MTP device installed all its drivers. I then used Latest OVI to sync music to my 5800.
After the sync when I try to refresh the music library, it just opens and the scanning window and closes it without adding any thing. Similarly if I try to set an image as the wallpaper when I click on image earlier it used to bring up the list of images on the memory card but now it is coming up blank. The firmware is V 4.0.
I have taken a nokia N8 belle version phone 3 months back, last few days I am unable to download music from OVI music, my phone came with 12 months subscription.

However, unlike before, when I looked at the album in the phone all the tracks are in Alphabetical order, not numerical. Thinking I'd made an error I reconnected the phone to the PC, and viewing the album in mass storage the tracks were still in track (numerical) order. I've never had this before and can't understand why the phone listing in the device should be different from the same file listed on the PC.

This happs when as soon as a new track starts to play. then the music app does not close/exit too.no problems when playing music through playlists and by genre.I have to close the music player by force by using the remove memory card feature which closes all running apps. to play music again to use the phone.is there any problem playing music in wma format? i checked the file details in the music i was playing when the player froze.

View 12 Replies View RelatedI have upgraded the firmware from v31.0.101 to v50.0.005 and I had the unpleasent surprise to find that the music player is no longer working. It plays only the files stored in the phone memory and is unable to update the library. It shows music files on the memory card that were deleted longtime ago and refresh library does not change anything: always shows refresh complete 0 files added. When I connect the phone to the PC, the Ovi Player doesn't see the phone and even the device manager shows that there is a problem with the portable device (conneced in PC Suite or Media Transfer modes). Done even a hard reset but nothing has changed except that it has lost the applications it had in the phone memory.

In my memory card I found many folders namely _PAlbTN. is it a virus? Do I need to reformat my memory card? And what do I have to copy on my PC when I format it? Just the mp3 videos and pictures? I left it to try and sort the problem for a while and then pressed STOP. When I tried later, the library was empty.I have upgraded the Music player but that also did not help. I removed the memory card where the MUSIC diretory is located and re-installed it. I have also re-booted the phone several times.From my PC I can see the directroy with all my music. All attempts to REFRESH the library on the phone fail with a message saying that 0 songs have been added. I have left it for long periods of time but still have no songs.If I locate a song with the file manager I can play it.Is there some way to delete/reset the library database and force it to re-create it?
