The C: drive on my N97 contains quite some debris. And I want to clean it up. So I did a hard reset: LeftShift+Space+BkSpace+On . Yet this seems to leave the C drive untouched. For instance, MfE log files are still there and I did not install MfE yet. How do I format the C: drive?
Ive configured it to a network connected HDD both locally (preferred option to access music collection for DNLA sharing) and also via HTTP but with no joy.
For some reason my C drive is getting more full. All installs are on the mass memory, emails and messages have been cleared out (gives back a couple of Meg) i'm down to 52Meg at the moment. I reformatted once (back to about 120Meg) and since then it's shrunk and continiues to get smaller!
my N8 with Nokia Belle tells me there is a software update -- Upload to SkyDrive -- and I have the notification icon in the notification bar. But I do not want or need to install this update. How do I hide the notification and delete the update from my phone. You used to be able to ignore updates, now I can't seem to find out how. Is this another enhancement from Nokia Belle?
Does anyone have a fix for the C drive filling up on N8 Belle? The suggestions in the FAQ and on various forums to delete emails, clear caches, delete photos etc are only temporary. Some people have said that re-installing Belle fixes the problem but it sounds like this too is only temporary.I am seeing MBs of space being eaten up by something, through normal use even when I perform these cleaning tasks regularly and don't install anything new. Anyway the amount of space taken up by a few emails is miniscule by at least an order of magnitude compared to the amount of space that's disappearing (kBs compared to MBs). It looks like something more fundamental is at play a resource leak somewhere, perhaps a process that's creating temporary files but not clearing them up afterwards.

I would like to know the best video format ,resolution and bitrate for conversion and playback of videos on the N8. Which resolution is best so that video plays on full stretched screen?
I tried in the phone. It is Factory Restore. This does not delete the phone memory.I want to delete all the contents of the phone. Just like it came when it was new.
My C: memory is showing as full when I try to clear it through the phone file manager despite looking through all folders I cannot identify any large files on it and the same is the case when I try to look through my pc software.
When I hold on the C: memory and look at the memory details it shows 131mb of messages even though I have deleted all txt messages and emails, 46mb of SIS applications I can't see these in the file manager and 72mb of other files which I assume are the OS files.
Since updating to Belle FP2 yesterday on my 808 Pureview, Maps and all map related apps won't open, they simply close straight away. Tried resetting the settingso n the phone and updating the maps on the Nokia Store. Now I'm stuck. Nokia drive was my second reason for buying the phone after the camera, so I'm a bit distraught lol. I've been making fun of my iOS6 friends the last couple of weeks about their maps and now I feel a bit foolish.
I have a nokia n97 and I want to know how to complete format it. I want to delete everything on my phone : settings and applications and everything and reinstall the software again ! I want to get it back as the first time I get it. I don't just want to restore factory settings.
I tried to watch a video on msn page and when I clicked on it I got a message that my phone does not have a video format . How do I assign a format to this phone .
Started to prepare for installation of the new Belle for my N8-00 but during step 2 of the installation (back up) a red expression mark appears telling me that "there is not enough space on the computer. Minimum requirement is 1,5GB on the e: drive. Please delete or move 0 MB from \e-enheten" (direct translation from Swedish version of Nokia suite, please see attached pic). I successfully made a back up using the common steps earlier today. The issue is that I don't even have an e-drive on my computer. C: is there (of course) then a whole bunch of network drives from my office network (F: ->X but no e: The only e-drive I have is the one on the phone and there I have enough space available.I have the latest version of Nokia suite btw (3.3.86).
It is so irritating that I cannot play any mkv format movies on my nokia 603.It is a totally time consuming process of converting the movies into supportable format.so ,NOKIA provide us any MKV MOVIE PLAYER like that of andriod to resolve this issue.
I want to send a message to nokia that nokia team you have to make a software for playing mkv dual audio format videos on symbian belle or you have to solve this problem with next software update for symbian belle. I have used nokia's s40v2,v3,v3a,s60v3a phones but now i am using nokia's symbian belle it is not impressive me like those phones.
almost all video/audio format files? I did tried to install UC Player from online different sites but unsigned versions showing certificate errors and signed versions showing certificate expired..
My N8 "phone memory C drive" is FULL. Applications are freezing, crashing, the phone is self restarting.
I see memory phone of 256 MB full with USB connected to PC. When I look inside the folders, nothing in some, no large file in others.
1. Why the phone memory is full? I did not install apps on the C drive aka phone memory, I did not put photos, videos or anything there, I don't use email.
2. Why I cannot find the files that occupy the memory? No large file can be seen.
3. Is this the cause of phone auto restarting and the cause some applications are crashing, closing in front of my eyes or in the background?
Why when I receive a simple call and I have only a game open after the call ends the game is already crashed / closed?
I got my new Xperia X10 mini Pro 3 days ago. I can't use many features cuz SD is messed up. Its SD is for Xperia X8, I found out that from the files and videos after using my PC to reformat it again. How can I reformat it to be work on Xperia X10 Pro using PC? I can't get back to SE cuz my back is broken and can't drive.
while updating the software through nokia suite it suddenly said that it had lost connection to the phone, and then went to the home page of the suite. This left my phone with a white screen and it wouldnt respond to anything. I tried re installing the software and such, but still white screen. FInally I took the battery out, and now it wont turn on! I push the power button and it vibrates, then nothing. This tells me that its not dead, and when i connect it to the computer it disconnects right away. I tried removing the battery for a few minutes and taking out the various cards, but nothing.
