I had my SD card in my blackberry but I need to use it for my digital camera for a school project. When I try to format my card in windows, it says error cannot format, when I try to format it in my digital camera it will not format, what can i possibly do!

View 6 Replies View RelatedI've gone ahead and bought a 8GB Sandisk card because I don't want to be limited on the amount of music I can put on my player at any given time.For the most part the thing works(ed) like it was suppose to. Dragged over all my Media files from my 1gb and things have been cool ever since.Now while I take good care of my BB Curve 8320, it takes the odd fall here and there. Never enough to damage or mar the screen and these falls have happened WITH the new 8GB card inside.....up until today, when it took a bunny hop of a fall...and now the card is "Unreadable and needs formatting"
WTF? I'm all ready to format it, but whenever I try doing so using the Blackberry...it freezes. Whenever I try doing it on my computer...I get no response. I heard someone said to put it in the big SD adapter thing and try using it on a comp and formatting it there...I'll have to search for a comp with an SD drive to get that done in a bit...but incase that doesn't work...Do I have any other options?
This is absolute crap..when I opened the BB to see if the chip was dislodged, it wasn't...the BB won't read it now...it reads the other 1gb quite fine but not this one....and living in a third world country It's not like as is I can bomb over there and get another card for a decent price as opposed to purchasing a severly marked up one here. Has anyone ever had this sort of problem with any of the bigger model phones? I'm starting to think that this Curve thing is too 'delicate' for my liking.
I have a Telus Curve 8330 and only have about 2 mb left of space so the phone has been freezing. I have a 8 gb micro sd card in there and I wanted to save my apps and everything possible in there.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo, I've searched, and I guess I'm not using the right terms, but my media card is having some problems. A couple weeks ago I added a good amount of music to my 4 GB card. Everything was working fine. Then one day, I had to reset my phone. Went into my Media link from my menu, "Scanning." Fine. It took forever, but when it was done, it wouldn't load my pictures after clicking the thumbnail. On top of that, the media player skips all my songs. I have to select each indvidual song or it will just repeat the song over and over with Repeat off. Looking at the playlist it just quickly highlights each one in the list and moves to the next. If I select each song it will play.If someone could point me in the right direction that would be awesome![EDIT]Also forgot to mention that I turned the phone off, took out the card, turned the phone on and used it for a while, turned it off again, and re-loaded the card. I'm thinking of just erasing the card and staring over.
View 6 Replies View RelatedFour days ago my iPhone frost, and requested iTunes to connect. I plugged it in to computer and connected to iTunes. Then iTunes asked me whether i want to reset iphone to factory settings, and format it, and update new upgrade. I select OK. When the format and updating is done, iPhone gives and SIM card error. I think it requests its first SIM card that is already given within iphone at buying it. But i do not find that SIM Card? What am i supposed to do?

I encrypted my memory card, worked ok for months. Today I showed a buddy of mine the encryption application, which asked if the memory card should be encrypted (encryption was already enabled). No Keyfiles/Passwords where asked for. The Phone crashed after that (hard reset after 5 hours). So the card is now encrypted, but there appears to be no valid key file on the device... So we have the usual issue: encrypted card, no keyfile or password.My problem is different in the following aspect: I don't want to recover any data - I just want to reformat the card and use my last (weekly) backup. However the phone won't let me do this. The following steps were taken to solve this issue without success:A complete Restore using the PC Suite does not restore any memory card contents or keys. The memory card stays "corrupted", encrypted and unwritable."Format Memory Card" says "card corrupted". Upon issuing the format request it says "Another application is using this memory card. Proceed" (which I confirm, as I suppose the crypto driver grabs the device) and then the program does nothing. It returns to the starting screen with "memory card corrupted".ReEnabling Encryption with a different key keeps saying that "No keys found", even after setting a new one. Sidenote: Even with a new key the card can't be formatted, as described above.The Phone was reset (using *#7370#, the 3+*+Green never worked on my phone) to factory defaults. Still the card was correctly recognized as encrypted and remained unusable as described above.Using a PC to format the memory card fails, as only the first 512kB appear to be writable (using dd under linux to write sequential zeroes). Despite writing this zero-dump, the phone still recognizes the card as encrypted, which implies that data on the card survived that crude zeroing attempt. Interestingly enough I can create a FAT32 Filesystem on these 512KB (not quick format), which appears to have no effect on the phone considering the card encrypted...The card is ok, since it was only removed after the problem occured. This must be an encryption issue. I suspect that the "Read Only" Password was set on the SD Card (hardware side, not E71 software) and hence all read/write operations are declined by the card.Is there any way to actually reset the encryption state of this card? As I previously said: I am not trying to recover any data, I just want a cleanly formatted microSD card..

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am looking for some help on getting access to media that was encrypted on the 128MD micro SD card that came with my original BB Curve (qwerty).Some time back my original BB was damaged and my company's internal IT dept gave me a temporary Curve BB (azerty). That BB came with an SD card which I replaced with my original SD card. When my new BB Curve (qwerty) got in, I handed over the temporary one (azerty) and kept my original micro SD card. Now I need to access the content of that micro SD card and am having a hard time doing so.
I can't remember if the original micro SD card was only encrypted with a password or a device key as well.
I have tried to use what I think the encryption key was on the micro SD I need to access by use of the new BB Curve (qwerty). I get my 5 try's then remove and re-insert the micro SD card.
All this to no avail. Now, the content is very important to me and I am willing to go through any formal process to get at the content. Can anyone tell me how to reach someone at RIM (BlackBerry) to discuss this, or if there is any legal way of getting at the content. (I can confirm the content before it is decrypted).
The issues I have here are:
1) not sure if the card was encrypted with a password and a device key (in which case I have a further dilemma in that the original device (BB Curve qwerty) has been retired and is no longer available for use) or just a password. Is there a way to find this out?
2) Because I use so many different passwords on all the devices I have to use, I am not even sure I am trying the right one for this micro SD card. Plus having gone from a qwerty to azerty, then back to a qwerty keyboard, I am not sure I am using the right password to decrypt. I am however able to provide the full password if given the 1st character of the encryption password.
I am not looking to do anything illegal but truly need to access the encrypted content. As such I am reaching out to the community and looking for any help available such as contact at RIM, formal process to decrypt, hints, clues. Anything to move this forward.
How do I repair a media card on my BB? I followed the intructions but i get to a point where clicking on the BB key I don't get any "repair" option.

After, I tried deleting something i did not want anymore and the card gave me errors. I used my pc and it said the card was write-protected. I had two micro sd cards (8GB) turn write protected for no reason. My internet is connected 24/7 and I use microsoft essential up-to-date so i dont see why my card have to turn write protected. I've tried changing security settings in phone on and off later but its still write protected. I've used every means of formatting from ubunto to windows 7. If I delete files with pc or the phone, it disappears from the screen but come back again. None of the file are corrupted cos they work well but i cant delete nor format anything. What is the problem here.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI have a 16gb Micro SD card that Ive been using in a Storm 2 9550 for a lil while. Well ive sold the storm 2 and since then the card has been sitting there in a box. When I insert the 16gb Micro SD card into the Bold, It says a memory card has been inserted would you like to format it? So It then asks me if I would like to format either the device memory (Internal Memory) or the Media Card (External Memory) So I obviously pick Media Card, Then It says "Formatting Card, Please Wait...." My phone freezes up and does nothing, Ive left my phone at this screen for 30 minutes, Everything quits working. I have to pull the battery in order to make the phone functional again. Ive already tried wiping the Bold (Security Wipe) and I have also tried formatting the device memory. When I go into work today Im going to try and format the card with a co-workers Storm 9530 Running 5.0 Hopefully this should solve any problems. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Oh and Ive called up AT&T they said they will send me a replacement device so im waiting on that to come.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've done a bit of digging, trying to find a solution to my problem before I posted, but most posts in the vein of a Media Card unrecognized/unable to format trail off into "is your SD card bad?" with no response following. So here's where I stand:
My phone: Blackberry Curve 8330
My Carrier: Verizon
My OS: v4.5.0.175
2gb media card has been used in phone since purchase in July '08. As of 2 weeks ago, phone no longer reads media card. Media card is recognized by phone (meaning phone detects whether card is present or not). Error message of "Media card cannot be read. Verify that the memory card is formatted." Attempts to format via phone fail immediately. When plugging into computer via USB (with Mass-Storage Enabled), Blackberry device is recognized, but no media card is present. A greyed-out drive ( I: ) appears in My Computer, but is inaccessable and cannot be checked, opened, or formatted (Error message; "Please insert a disk into drive I: ).
Attempted solutions:
Have used 3 different media cards: 2gb Sony, 2gb PNY, 8gb. Each card tested via SD adapter and all read correctly in My Computer: can move files to/from, checkdisk, and reformat. Have formatted all via PC. Each card gives same error "Media card....formatted" as stated above. Hard reset (battery pull) has no effect. Have removed battery for 48 hours (in case there were any stubborn capacitors, or something like that). Have turned Mass Storage, Encryption, and Media Card support On and Off, removed and reinserted card with each parameter changed, no effect (I can give you the list of all of that, but you get the idea. I'm decently thorough). Rolled back the OS to previous version (via Desktop Manager), problem still exists. Re-upgraded to current version, no change.To sum up, the phone works fine, but the media card may as well not be there. It's not the card(s), and I don't think it's the software, given that I changed the OS up and down, so I'm assuming maybe hardware. I'd appreciate any suggestions, and if you need any further info, I'll do my best to provide.
I was given a BB Curve 8310 to attempt a repair. When I attach the USB cable to the BB the system tray does not pop up with a notification that says "found new hardware" like it normally does when you plug a BB in. When the phone boots up it displays error msg " JVM Error 513". I attempted to looking into the device by using "cracmem" and "JL_Cmder" and no data is to be found and thus there is nothing to wipe. I suspect that the device has already been wiped thus the no data. I have pulled the battery from the phone and reinstalled; unplugged the usb cable during the BB boot process and nothing is happening. The DM application loader will not allow me to procede due to computer not recognizing the BB device thus it is not generating the "USB:UNKNOWN".

I recently upgraded to an android phone but really don't like it and it's to late to return it. So, my options are to go back to my 8330 which is 2 years old and hope it makes it the next 2 years of our contract or stay with the Android that annoys the heck out of me. Is it possible to take the SD card out of the android and put it in the BB so I don't have to deal with activation fee's? I'm thinking that it's not possible but a friend insists that I can do it.

I know how to install the media card itself. my problem is when I put in the new card my themes and some apps wrer gone. Do I need to format the card transfer stuff.I don't want to do I need to format the card in the phone onthe computer and if in the computer "how". I am trying to go to a 1gb to a 4gb... I looked on the forums for awhile and found only the tutorial on inserting the card, I had no trouble with that.

This is a 8330m i had but havent used in forever. i had it password locked but forget the password at the time. so it resetted itself and i didnt bother with it after that. now it showed up a 513 error so i used JL_cmder and wiped it. now it has a 507 error and i tried to use DM4.6 to install 4.5.175 OS and it keeps saying "no software is available for this device" when i try to manually locate the loader.exe file i click it and says "no additional applications designed for this device were found." the vendor.exe file has been deleted and all other OS were deleted. DM doesnt say connected but when i click apploader the PIN shows up. I tried to do the OS install without the battery and it wouldnt work. i tried the "how to recover a dead blackberry" and it sort of gets to the beginning but when it locates the blackberry, the blackberry shuts off and doesnt turn back on.

It helped for a while but now I'm back to a slow crawl at times which has really caused some problems when VZ Navigator just freezes on me.I know if I can just clean the emails and text messages off the media card, but I can't figure out how to access the cards memory bu itself. I certainly don't want to clear the pictures off of it (it's only a couple but I'd rather not delete them) so I'd rather not format the card if I don't have to.
