Is there any free push email service from 3rd party other than the one that comes default with Blackberry?I searched on Google but couldn't find any satisfactory result...some of the services are discontinued.
View 6 RepliesJust started having this problem in the last week. My 8330 won't give me any of my new emails unless I "wake it up" by using the internet. The minute I surf somewhere it'll pop up every single email since the last time I used the net. So for example, I go to bed, and the next morning it won't be showing me any of the emails I received overnight (and I get several every night). If I use the internet to go to to a website, they all come through, bam bam bam.
Also, brand new problem. Just now I tried uploading some things to twitpic and they still haven't gone through. I sent two twitpic emails to my account over an hour ago. Both outgoing emails have clocks beside them (not marked delivered). Twitpic worked 10 hours ago... what is going on?
Does my email have to be set up on my bb inorder to send service books,using the email setup method.

I did a clean install and when ever I try to add email accounts its automatically taking IMAP or POP3 setup and not prompting me to use Nokia Messaging Service to send/receive email.IMAP / POP3 is fast but uses lots of data compared to Nokia Messaging Service (which is free from my provider and will not count towards data usage). I started noticing this problem since yesterday afternoon.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI got my BlackBerry Curve 8520 a few days ago and discovered that I cannot receive service books. The icon for my mailbox for my supposedly created email does not appear on my phone after creating it on the BIS. I tried resending service books a thousand times already but nothing. No icons for email showed up on my phone's home screen and not a single service books received. I tried pulling out the battery already, deleting my email and re-adding it up on the BIS, had my account deleted on the BIS and registering my phone again but nothing seemed to work. I still cannot receive service books and no email icon seemed to appear. I even updated the OS of my phone to v5.0. Everything on my Blackberry is working except for my email and service books problem. I also tried going to Options > Advanced options > HRT > register. I also did a Wipe Handheld on my device but nothing changes. My data plan is active and GPRS is in all caps.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI just came from switching from an HTC Touch to a Curve 8310. Still figuring out most of it. The wider keyboard may take some getting used to. First thing I want to do is get all the apps from my old phone to the new one. I have installed Opera Mini 5 but I have to say I miss being able to toggle through the links. Sometimes the rollerball can be too slow.
I used to listen to music via Radiotime on my old phone. However, that was with Windows Mobile and it doesn't quite work with this phone's browser. I saw the post about blueapple.mobi and quickly got that bookmarked. Right now I am looking for free apps to get me started. Especially a podcast/newsreader and a radio option for my phone.
I want to control my computer(it just has to use the mouse and keyboard doesn't have to show me the computer screen on my blackberry) with my 8330, is there any FREE applications that do this either with Wi-Fi or Internet? I don't have Bluetooth on my laptop, also if it has USB support that would be nice too(it might eat the battery less

I have searched the forums some now and can't seem to find a free version that works on my phone. just wondering if someone might know where i can find it, or atleast a free alternitive?

I tried a few things such as reconnecting to the verizon mobile network, I did a reboot and a few hard reboots, I finally wound up doing a wipe which didn't help either. Before I wiped the bb I ran a diagnostics test and my radio data activation would say no and everything else would be unknown. I have no service books and my host routing table is empty. Yhe blackberry internet server doesnt recognize that the phone is activated. I dont know what else to do, I took it to a local verizon store and he said my software is shot and I need a new phone.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI bought the 8330 about six months ago and purchased the High-speed data package from Sprint. I have confirmed with my provider that I do have the high-speed data package. I noticed that the phone is very slow while connecting to the internet. I took the phone into the store where I bought it which is a Sprint dealer.
The person working there said the problem was that.I only had a 1X for radio signal and I needed a 1XEV. He messed with the phone for about an hour and even talked to support while I was in store. We tried re-provisioning several times and numerous other things. Eventually I was told by support that the particular Blackberry I owned did not support EV(EVDO) service and I would have to purchase a new phone.

I don't have that information, and when I asked vodafone, they told me tocontact Blackberry (and very kindly sent me a contact number for Blackberry, which didn't work).Is it not possible in the UK to use third party email apps?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have aCurve 8330. ! have used Outlook Web Access (now App) to get e-mail from my job for more than a year. Last week I got a message that I needed to confirm my password. I was unable to get the system/phone to accept it so I deleted the e-mail address & attempted to set it up from scratch. I have spent 2 hours trying. My employer's IT dept spent an hour and my local cell carrier guru also tried for about an hour. We get a message that there is an error in the data submitted. I know my Web App info works 'cause I can sign on from several computers with no problem. I called tech help at Blackberry where the nice overseas guy told me "you can't use OWA, only normal e-mail addresses". (Since the set up screens still have the forms to do it, I assume he was wrong.) I have had 2 other e-mail addresses push to the phone for over a year which have no problem. (not going through OWA). We have deleted those 2 & reset with no problem. The problem seems to only be related to Web App.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a blackberry 8520, it is working fine.. but, strange thing happend though..chronogically its like this..compose an email,write the recipient addresstype the subjectand write whatever messages right.. and so, i would like to attach a file (.doc file)so i press the menu button and choose "attach file"however, the notification poped up saying "The attachment file may be reduced in size."then it just ask me to select pictures from my pictures directory only, and i was unable to browse my .doc file that is located in my documents directory, since there is no "up" option in the menu.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have two professional accounts forwarded to one gmail account through pop3. I have that gmail account on my 8330. So, whenever someone sends an email to my professional account, it shows up on my BB, great. However, when I hit reply on my BB, the from address shows up as my gmail address, not the professional address I want it to show. Is there a way to fix this?
View 5 Replies View RelatedIm not getting any sounds from anything on my phone. That includes: Phone calls...SMS...MMS....EMAIL...MUSIC...ALARM (Profile always on LOUD). Some days my phone will work and some days not. Ive seen some people say to just "Pull the battery" but that fixes it for the time being, doesnt solve the solution. Isn't the answer for everything! lol. My biggest concern is I use my alarm to get up of a morning on my BB, and now with profile set on "Loud" still doesn't ring. Is anyone having problems with this sence the OS 4.5 update? When I click on my songs...ALL SONGS...a message always pops up and says: (Error Playing: Device Media, Processor is busy). Now all of this has worked fine up till about 2 weeks ago. Thats what I dont understand, my update to 4.5 was over a month ago... And ive also gotten the message: Uncaught Exception, thread is not ready...something like that. I mean I love this phone but it has caused me a lot of problems! And when you pay this much for a phone, should not have to just settle with "Do a battery pull 3 times a day".

View 4 Replies View RelatedBeginning at 4:29am this morning, (it seems that all messages stopped at 12:31am and then everything flooded in at once) all of my emails began coming in RED instead of black and they all started giving me alerts. Previously I had Profiles/Exceptions set up so only emails from certain people caused alerts and came in as red.I was able to fix the alerts by changing Level 1 messages to no alert on my "general" profile, but all the emails still come in RED. I have done a reset and a battery pull and nothing changed. How do I fix this??

I've Googled this topic a bit, and everyone keeps saying you can turn the data connection off, but I still want internet access for Facebook, Google Maps, etc. Turning the data connection off would basically be like shutting off my internet at home, when all I have to do is close Outlook on my company laptop and not open it again until I want to receive email. Is there a way to temporarily prevent email from being downloaded to the Blackberry, while still being able to use data for other services?
