View 3 RepliesI try using one the Instant Messaging services, I keep getting the error shown in the title. Its not just one, it's all four of them(MSN, AIM, Yahoo!, and GTalk).
View 7 Replies View RelatedI just got a Curve 8520 today, everything seemed to be going alright until I tried to sign into Gmail, it didn't work. (This has happened before on another non-BB phone -- So I didn't think much of it) Then I tried to log in to the Yahoo Instant Messenger on the IM folder.Each one (MSN, YIM, AIM) gave me the error message of 'Service not Enabled for this Handheld device" I looked on Google, YES I do have a data plan, I went to my service provider about a different problem, (Close enough, it was about emails), and I DO have the Data plan.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have downloaded and installed windows live messenger to a curve 8520. When I try to log onto it I get a message saying 'Service not enabled for this handset'.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to use the Gtalk application it gives me the following error:"Service not enabled for this handheld" I installed gtalk via appworld. I have consequently tried to remove it and reinstall it from the device and again from the desktop managment software. I suspect this error is due to missing application permissions. When I go to:options > Security Options > Application Permissions there is no entry for gtalk. A colleage at work (with a bold) has an entry specific to gtalk. Any idea how I can do a clean install (so that the install does not sggest a reinstall) and/or force the creation of the permissions entry.here are some details:
Device info:
* Carrier: Vodacom
* Curve 8900, v4.6.1.168, platform 4.2.0.94
Apps and free space"
* File free: 110 MB
* Did a battery pull fix your issue? No
* Apps installed and their version: Google Talk 2.5.32
When i connect any of the instant messengers i.e MSN, Google, Yahoo, it says "Service not enabled for this handheld"?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI purchased an iPhone 3GS with an Optus Pre-Paid deal (with 3G included) many years ago. My Optus contract finished and terminated. I started a new business contract with my fathers company Telstra Plan with a new non-3G enabled plan. I recieved a new simcard and everything worked (other than 3G ofcoarce).
The Telstra Business Plan has been completed and I have re-entered a new contract period with Telstra again. But this time I have organised 3G to be enabled. The plan has commenced but 3G doesn't actually work. I have unlocked my IMEI number through Telstra and I was told to Sync my iPhone. I completed the sync and I still don't have any 3G capability! Can anyone recommend a way of getting the service enabled properly? I have tried the Telstra website to send me the settings (it also didn't work).
Info:
iPhone 3GS, iOS 5.1.1
Im not able to use gtalk on my phone. The error i get is "service not enabled".I have tried calling vodacom who have advised that i need to speak to google.... I have tried to research this error but there are so many different solutions there.

So far I have troubleshooted the following: Tested the SIM card in a known working 9700 Bold - Sim card is working fine - BES service is activated - I was able to configure the users account. After placing SIM card in the BB 9100 - No Blackberry symbol (logo) & registration msg Tried - Register Now - through Host Routing Table - no change Security wiped handheld - no change Upgaded to 9100_9105Asia_PBr6.0.0_rel2474_PL6.6.0.207_A6.0.0.546_Telstra (OS6) Downgraded to: 9100_9105EastAsia_PBr5.0.0_rel1083_PL6.2.0.46_A5.0.0.623_Telstra (OS5) Replaced the SIM card - No change Contacted my service provider - they sent another new handset This is also having the exact same problem, also after transferring the users data from 8100, and repeating all the troubleshooting previously.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been trying to access a website that I normally visit daily and today it was telling me that about memory being full. Its only when i try to access my inbox, yet the the rest of the pages will load (including facebook).I deleted a bunch of pics off my phone and thought if i enabled memory cleaning, it would clear my cache, cookies, etc.
the prompt said it would save changes when the device was turned off and rebooted. I did a battery pull and now what is happening is my issue.
after i pulled the battery, I get a red blink of hte led, then a black screen with a clock in the middle (obviously the loading symbol) and then the screen showing "blackberry" with a loading bar.Once the loading bar is done loading...nothing! It goes back to turning off the device and reloading from the start. It has been doing this for 2 hours and the device will not go to the home screen, it just keeps rebooting itself. I have done 2 or 3 battery pulls now and it keeps doing it. Would it have anything to do with the "memory clean" enablement? or is the peice of cr@p toast now? And have i lost all my contacts??
I just had to rebuild a BES box using the Xpress Server software 5.0.1. After reactivating all the phones, I noticed that the subfolders were all empty. Here is what I did...
1. I double checked the Web Desktop Manager to ensure that the redirection was turned on.
2. Enabled folder redirection on the handheld and SELECTED ALL subfolders.
a. I read that the messages would have to be moved to another folder, then readded for the sync to catch, so I did...
3. Gave it 1/2 hour and it still didn't work...
Dropped my BB for the last time...the trackball fell out and some other stuff fell out...not retrieved. Friend gave me her old Curve and I want to switch. Tried just moving the sim card praying my pictures would come up...but they didn't. The address book isn't there either.How do I switch my service and how do I move the info without a track ball?

View 1 Replies View Relatedi have a Blackberry Curve 8900. I'm on a network in Ireland called Meteor but my phone is an unlocked Orange UK phone. Last week Meteor starting supporting Blackberrys but i have no service books on my phone for Internet or MMS. I can't log into Meteor or Orange BIS website to get the service books and i don't have E-mail Setup on the handset to get them that way either. I have rang Meteor and Orange and neither seem to know how to get my Internet and MMS up and running. I don't think that it has anything to do with Orange anyway seeing as the phone is unlocked and I've been using it on the Meteor network for the past year just without certain functions. I've tried a battery pull and I've tried the Register Now function through the Host Routing Table option. Nothing seems to work and it's really starting to bother me.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI want to ask abut any IM that works without having BIS or BES on my blackberry 8520 Why I'm not using BIS if you ask, because the BIS is a little bit expensive here.
I've tried WindowsLiveMessenger - YahooMess for blackberry and they will only work on BIS.
I've tried ebuddy, but there's no ebuddy for blackberry. So I have to use ebuddyLITE and it is not great for chatting (refreshing all the time and its not user friendly)
Is there any suggestion for another IM that works only on normal GPRS? [without activating BIS]
