View 4 RepliesI've tried just about every trick in the book to get my BB to use the internet and BBM.
o2 say that all settings on the phone and their internal networks are correct. I send off to register the device, I never recieve a message back from BIS
I've been trying to get this sorted for 7 days now and I am so close to throwing the thing in the bin. Are there any RIM/Blackberry employees on this board that can take a look at it or tell me why the service book message just isn't being sent?
FWIW I bought this phone off a friend, on the same network and PAYG and everything worked fine with their sim, I put mine in and it just won't work, no matter what.
I've wiped, reset, downgraded OS, upgraded OS, gone over all settings, talked to o2 online, by phone, in store god knows how many times, and all i get is "register the device" IT DOES NOT WORK!
EDIT: I have an active blackberry bolt-on/data plan with o2
I cannot seem to register in Blackberry service of my network provider. I inquired about it with my network, the customer service people told me that everytime i register to pay per use blackberry service, different keyword is seen in their system.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been facing this problem this the last couple of months.. whenever I travel and get into the roaming network, my phone doesnt connect to the Blackberry Internet Service (BIS) because of which i cannot use BBM or any other internet based application. As soon as i am in local network, it gets connected to BIS. I have tried everything..data service while roaming is on.. have switched off phone, removed sim and restarted. Last evening I visited Vodafone store, the guy put my sim in another blackberry device and it got connected to BIS. However its doesnt get connected on my device. He suggested me to do a data wipe which I did, still am unable to connect to BIS.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI got my torch 9800 on launch day. i loved this device and definately felt like i was upgrading from my old device (iphone 3g). as much as i love the capabilities of the device i have run into a few issues, specifically network issues. it all started on sunday when all of a sudden i lost connection to the blackberry servers(the little logo in the corner was gone..) i went to at&t on monday and they could not figure it out. apparently my service book for the blackberry internet service got deleted(i didnt even know what a servicebook was lol) so i went home later that night and downnloaded the at&t software and reinstalled the os and this worked. then all of a sudden today, my fb was acting up, so i deleted the app. then i lost the connection again... do you guys have any idea what could be causing this? im currently reinstalling the os as i write this.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Torch but i think any phone could develope this problem. i frequently use my phone is hotspots and whenever i connected to the internet via those routers and modems, the little blackberry logo appears next to my wireless icon which signifys that it has connected to the BIS service via the ADSL router so when i stream videos and download files, i dont get charged. in the last few days, the little blackberry logo has only connected via my 3G and GPRS. i can connect to the ADSL router but the little blackberry logo stays on my 3G or GPRS and doesnt appear next to my wireless icon so when i stream videos or download files, it charges me since it is downloading from the network and not the router. how do i force it to connect to the internet via the ADSL router instead of the network. I have tried a hard restart and also disabling the network connection but it still doesnt connect via the router so i don't get emails or bbm messages. i have also registered via the "host routing table" which is located in "options/device/advanced system settings" and i get a message to say it has registered but it is still the same. i dont know what to do as now i have a large bill because everyday i stream videos via my phone,

View 1 Replies View RelatedI don't know if this is possible or not so I thought I would ask here, is it possible to alter the way the menu functions in the blackberry curve? in example, what I want to do is like when I send a sms text message and when I hit the trackball and the menu options come up, the send button is highlighted, and what I would like do is modify it so that the check spelling is highlighted first and then send button is right below it, is it possible to do this or is this an internal Blackberry Software modification?

View 1 Replies View Relatedi have a Blackberry Curve 8900. I'm on a network in Ireland called Meteor but my phone is an unlocked Orange UK phone. Last week Meteor starting supporting Blackberrys but i have no service books on my phone for Internet or MMS. I can't log into Meteor or Orange BIS website to get the service books and i don't have E-mail Setup on the handset to get them that way either. I have rang Meteor and Orange and neither seem to know how to get my Internet and MMS up and running. I don't think that it has anything to do with Orange anyway seeing as the phone is unlocked and I've been using it on the Meteor network for the past year just without certain functions. I've tried a battery pull and I've tried the Register Now function through the Host Routing Table option. Nothing seems to work and it's really starting to bother me.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI want to ask abut any IM that works without having BIS or BES on my blackberry 8520 Why I'm not using BIS if you ask, because the BIS is a little bit expensive here.
I've tried WindowsLiveMessenger - YahooMess for blackberry and they will only work on BIS.
I've tried ebuddy, but there's no ebuddy for blackberry. So I have to use ebuddyLITE and it is not great for chatting (refreshing all the time and its not user friendly)
Is there any suggestion for another IM that works only on normal GPRS? [without activating BIS]

View 2 Replies View RelatedNot too long ago my employer rolled out a two-tiered phone Nextel service for employees. Some get 8350i with a full BB data plan and some get Moto i456 with voice, PTT, MMS, and limited data (feels like GPRS). I am in the latter category. While I have absolutely no justifiable business need for a data plan I despise the crappy i465 with a passion that is difficult to describe.
I thought I would solve my problem by buying a 2nd-hand 8350i on my own dime and just popping the employer-provided SIM card in it. My hope was that I would retain what I need (voice, SMS, PTT) and be on my merry way. However, it appears that I do have voice and PTT but have lost ALL messaging capability, probably because the messaging the BB goes through their own servers and I do not have BB service. Is there any way around this dilemma? I do need both PTT and SMS, and the only two QWERTY devices with PTT capability are the 8350i and the i465.
