I keep receiving messages from RIM network on my handheld. They state that the message is used to carry data between the Blackberry handheld and an associated server and advise me not to delete, move or respond.
Anyone have any idea as to how i can get these messages not to appear constantly?
I am a new 9700 user and am struggling a bit with SMS converstations with contacts who are also in my BB Messenger list.These conversations are showing as collapsed in the SMS view. They also appear in the BB Messenger conversations view but if I restart the handset they disappear from there and only appear in the SMS view.

purchased a Bold 9700 on Vodafone and have found 2 little things that are bugging me because I can't find out what one of them is, or why the other happens!
1) I have a strange icon that I can't find a description of appearing next to 2 messages. It looked like a little phone symbol. It appears next to 2 of my conversations, in my SMS/MMS inbox and on he Blackberry Messenger inbox (as the conversations are via the PIN service). I have other conversations in my Blackberry Messenger inbox that appear with a little bubble with the blackberry logo inside, and messages in my SMS/MMS inbox that appear with the normal white speech bubble at the side. However, no matter what I do, these 2 conversations remain with the little Phone symbol next to them.....

I usually do a battery pull every 3 or 4 days. I always send my service books by way of my laptop from the T-Mobile website. When I am not at my desk and want to send servicebooks what is the easiest way of doing this on the handheld? (9700)
View 4 Replies View Relatedi just bought a new 9700. its an unlocked orange 9700 operating V5 OS i am having a problem that whenever my battery gets below 50% the device shows me a message "battery drained, turning off handheld" and the phone shut down.and when i try to turn it on,it only shows the red blip at the LED and then it stops and nothing happened the phone didnt revived.so i charged the phone and it works.but still whenever the battery starts to fall below 50% power, the message show up and the device died. what happen to the phone?i am a fresh blackberry user.somebody please give me some advice. i have tried the power saving advice from http://supportforums.blackberry.com /t5/BlackBerry- Community-Post/Power-Saving-Tips-for-your-BlackBe but the problem still persist.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI just updated my Blackberry Bold 9700 and now I can't get past this screen with the proprietary acceptance text. I have tried the following unsuccessfully:
1. Taken the battery off and put back on and re-booted.
2. Tried to update the software again by connecting to my laptop.
3. Taken the battery off, then put battery back on, when red light turned off, I pressed the escape button to possible start in safe mode. didn't work.

constantly got the egg timer when i start to try and do something.i close apps properly, i hardly use the damn thing. when i do a battery pull it still happens when i start the phone. what shall i do?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI want to be able to check my email thru the GMail application; get notifications for my Yahoo Messenger, missed calls, voicemails, and SMS Text and MMS messages thru the BlackBerry Messages app; and my Gmail calendar thru the BlackBerry Calendar app.
I can't figure out how to make my email NOT appear in Messages. So, I created a dummy email account that gets no email and set that up as the default email account. Now I get my real email thru the Gmail app, and all the other notifications thru Messages (and no emails in there). Great, but the Calendar app won't work with my Gmail account because it only wants to connect to the dummy gmail account and to Facebook. I don't want Facebook to touch my calendar, and I have set it as such in the Facebook App options, but it still does. Using Google Sync, I managed to get my real calendar to show up in the Calendar as Default. When I run the sync, the appointments I created in the online Gmail calendar appear in the Calendar as being on the Facebook calendar.
From the Calendar, I can not create appointments for my real Gmail account, only for my dummy account and for Facebook. If I delete the appointments from the Facebook calendar, then after syncing it deletes the appointments from my online Gmail calendar. I think what I need to know boils down to "how can I prevent email from appearing in Messages?". If I can figure that out, then I can delete the dummy account and set up the email as my real account and then the calendar should work correctly.
Just a couple of days ago, I received a BBM from my daughter, although my cell was turned off for the night. I thought maybe I'd not turned it off. Last night again, I turned it off (I always do every night) and was woken early because not only was my turned off phone receiving messages, it had also enabled my Drive Safely app and the phone was busy reading everything to me.I checked and the phone was off. I still had to push the red phone key to turn it on.I immediately did a battery pull and will hope for the best.Has anyone had this experience?

According to one of the threads in Tech Support this can be done but I do not have the slightest idea whom I should contact regarding this matter, and if the remote destruction of the data is possible at all. The device has been bought off a shelf at a shop not through a GSM operator.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI searched the forum multiple times this week and cant find an answer to my problem. since a week i suddenly lost my EDGE coverage and got now edge.email, bbm browser not working. host routing table is empty and i can't register my servicebooks. browser only works on wifi. if i try tu use it without wifi it says "this is hotspot browser" i have bis active. i reactivated it by calling my provider did battery pulls, os updates nothing worked out.one (litle thing i noticed the same day i lost coverage i got a message on my bb saying uncaught exeption adding byte out of range) i dont know if this has somthing to do with my problem are there crackberry addicts that can help me with my problem.

Some of my BBM's to friends are delayed, I can't get a net connection to use any apps (Facebook, Twitter, Shazam, App World) etc. My 'phone' signal as it were is fine. I receive texts and calls on time no problem.
Does anyone know what could be causing this, and how to fix it? It was fine up until Monday and I havent changed any settings or changed OS's. My data connection is fine everywhere else.I have also noticed, possibly becuase my phone is trying to receive a data signal that my battery is being drained by about 10% an hour.
Does anyone know about VOICE TO DATA (email or SMS) apps and what are the best one?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've called t-mobile support twice, and they confirmed that I have a data plan and don't know why I am getting this message when I try to access the internet. A colleague had this problem, and it was fixed by "reprovisioning" the blackberry. I had them try this but it did not work. Any idea why this is happening? I have business enterprise server, but it is not set up yet - could that be causing the problem?
View 5 Replies View Relatedsince a few days my Bold9700 is always sending data. The outgoing Arrow in the upper right corner isnīt even flashing. He is fixed there and doesnīt dissapear. The only Apps i have is Handelsblatt (itīs german newpaper, but i configured it that it only updates manually if i do it) then i have facebook und windows messenger where iīm logged out. So i donīt know why it is always sending or it apears that it is sending. Is there a possibility to check if the phone is sending data?

I searched for solutions, found few places talking about the update software would be creating a .ipd backup file before updating OS, but didn't find any on the PC. View 4 Replies View RelatedI am using a blackberry bold 9700 V5.0.0.862. My phone is unlocked and I am using it on the Fido network. I was away for 5 weeks, and while away I used a simcard from that country in my phone. When I got back to Canada, I put in my fido sim card and the internet was not working. I called Fido and they did a reset on my phone and still no data.
The tech did some trouble shooting as well as gave me the Fido APN info, I did the host routing table reset and still nothing. I have no idea what the problem could be but Fido has told me there is nothing else that they can do, as I am using an unlocked device. I cannot connect to the internet, my BBM does not work, and I am not receieving emails. I can make phone calls and send texts. I have pulled the battery out many times. My phone says 3G.I don't know if some of the setting on my phone locked from using the international sim, if my sim is corrupted, or if I need a new phone.
I have a BB 9700 based in Hong Kong using 3 (three.com.hk) synchronising with Blackberry Professional installed on our Exchagne 2003 server. I frequently travel to Europe where I have a UK VodaFone contract too. I want to be able to remove the HK SIM from my BB and use the UK chip when in Europe but seem to be having problems.

On my old phone I had it set up to ask whether I wanted to delete email messages on just the handheld device or both. I like having the option. View 9 Replies View RelatedRandomly, my BB will start sending/recieving data (the rx/tx arrows constantly changing back and forth) and the entire phone will lock up. None of the buttons work, it wont respond to anything for about 2-4 mins. Then everything returns to normal. I notice it most in the facebook app or Viigo, mostly because thats when im scrolling a lot. Occasionally, the last button pressed will register after it wakes up from its coma, ie, if i press the back button when its frozen, and nothing after that, when it wakes up, it will *sometimes* register the button. I never get any messages or anything when its doing this.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a 9700 on swisscom, and I have a problem. My phone used to connect to the 3G Network and BIS perfectly fine until about 5 weeks ago. It still connects to the 3G, but the symbol stays small (no data/no bis). If I turn the network settings to 2G only, I have no trouble connecting to the BIS and Data, and I also don't drop the signal. The wierd thing is that it used to work perfectly and now 3G just doesent properly work.I have tried everything I can think of, I bought a new sim card, reloaded preveious OS versions where It worked on, resend registration message, deleted my bis and so on. What else could I try? as this is 3G phone and I want to use 3G.
View 4 Replies View RelatedVery often I lose my blacjberry connection (means that the blackberry symbol near 3G is missing) It occurs often when I use google maps, and now when I use bb app world 2.0 ..Seems like when the data amount is too high, connection is lost. I only can get it back by disabling 3G signal and enabling it again ..
I don't know why it does it, I had no problem with my bold 9000, but since I changed to 9700 I also changed my phone operator..Or maybe It's due to my faceplate change and I screwed myself not moving certain parts to the new faceplate..
