BB Bold 9700 :: Deleting Application Data Store In Media Card
Jul 19, 2010I recently had to wipe out my BB completely and my office IT restored the main databases.Unfortunately, I now have to reinstall again all my third party applications that I used to have (the backup file I have in my personal PC does not show the applications so I can restore them).Looking at the folders in my media card, I realize I have a lot of files related to those previous applications and wonder if I should delete them before installing the same applications again. Or do I need those files there?

Feb 23, 2012Recently I have been getting low application data free space messages on my balckberry bold 9700. I have upgraded the OS to version 6.0 bundle 2115. There are not much third party applications on my phone. From the application management screen I am seeing the OS taking up approximatey 127MB and the combined storage used by the third party applications I have running on my phone is approximately 50MB. However, I am seeing that there is only 7MB free out of 250MB of application data space.I suspect that the old OS is still stored on my phone in some system folders. Where can I find these files? and how can I troubleshoot this further?

Jul 13, 2010I have been having a issue lately with my voice service turning off. The first time I was not able to make calls however could use data. Today both data and voice shut off. I was not able to restore connections. The only way to get them back working was to go in settings, mobile networks, then perform diagnostic test which usually fixes the issue. I was told today by a VZW rep that this is happening because I have wifi turned on. Is this correct?

For some reason my voice dialing has changed so that now it looks up contacts in last name first order i.e. if I say john smith it looks for a last name "john" This is a new phenomenon that seemingly has been initiated by the device without intervention from me and I can't seem to get it corrected. the contacts folder is sorted by first name.

Feb 27, 2010something is killing my bb battery , it hardly lasts for 8 idle hrs and the same battery on another bb will last for around 2 days if not used too much , I had initially installed quite a few apps and thought maybe this was the reason for the weak battery , so i deleted all the apps and still the same . I dont have any apps other than the normal ones running in the background.
another thing is that my bb keeps hanging , esp while locking and unlocking Its like there is a bug or a virus on the bb I also dont see the name of the person calling when the phone is in the holster but when it is out it shows .....

Feb 5, 2010I have the Bold 9700, got it last week Thursday. I don't know IF upgrading to the new OS will help this issue, but my VNR seems to be buggy. It won't let me play back what I just recorded. I receive the error message: "Unable to play media". While recording, I watch the time-lapse, and it goes slow. It seems to stay on seconds longer than it should, when in actuality, it has recorded past the time that's shown. I've done batt pulls. Sometimes it'll work and sometimes it won't. I had a Pearl Flip and never exp'd any of these issues.

Jun 24, 2010I am trying to upgrade my OS through DM. I went to click upgrade after connecting my 9700, and it pops up "application uploader needs to be upgraded." I tried installing it as it advised, 5 times already and it still pops up the same message. I tried uninstalling and installing DM again with the latest version but it is still happening. Any clues on how to fix this?
My computer is Win7 64bit Sony.

May 2, 2010Voice dialing on my Bold 9700 has worked for a long time. The phone is only 2.5 months old.Since last night though, when I click voice dialing, it just says "Scanning contacts", it reaches 100% very quickly, and closes. It never prompts me to say a command.I've tried battery pulls, going into settings -> Voice dial, changing things, and it still happens. If I try to Adapt my Voice, it just scans the contacts, and closes like above.It's rather strange because I haven't made major changes to my phone. I'm still using the main oem theme, and I have absolutely no programs running in the background. (I've held the menu button to see what's open.)
