BB Bold 9700 :: No Idea How To Voice Dial
Jan 17, 2010Still new to BB and I have no idea how to voice dial. Is there an included feature or do I need an app to get Rolling?

BB Bold 9700 :: Disabled Dial From Homescreen
Feb 2, 2010I've had my 9700 probably for about 3 weeks now, coming from the 8900. I know the OS is different, so has the shortcut for profiles changed? With my 8900 I could press F, to get to my profiles. And altho I have disabled dial from homescreen on my 9700, pressing F does nothing, however all other shortcuts worked. Am I missing something?

Jan 4, 2010With my Blackberry 9000, I was able to go into the Phone menu and dial by a name in my phonebook contacts. ie: I press: HOME and this entry will show up.With the new Blackberry 9700... Pressing the Alpha keys doesn't do anything. Only the numbers 0 through 9 are working.Is this an option? I can't seem to find where to turn this on.

Jun 17, 2010I have a Bold 9700 running 5.0.0.545 with bell mobility. When I upgraded to this version I am no longer able to type in a contact name from the home screen to dial them. I now have to go into the address book, then type their name. I can only enter numbers directly from the home screen. Is anyone else having this issue?

Apr 8, 2010I am having a real problem trying to get my new Samsung Corby Pro to voice dial. I have just upgraded from a Motorola Razr V9 to this new phone and have a Blueant Supertooth 3 speakerphone. I had no problems making outgoing voice dial calls with the Motorola. I cannot figure out why it does not work on the Samsung.When you do a search for the specs of the Samsung Corby Pro many sites say that it has voice dial. I cannot find any mention of this feature in the instruction manual. When I called Rogers, my service provider they could not say if this phone has voice dial or not. When I called Samsung, the tech rep could not pull up any documentation about it.Buying new tech puts you in a bit of a bind I am finding.anyways if anybody managed to get it to work please reply.

Jul 3, 2012When I use voice dial (usually via bluetooth headset on iPhone 3GS), if the iPhone decides it has found an exact match, it will notify me of the match and then start dialing. It does not confirm the match with me, and when it starts dialing, the "Cancel" keyword does not work - nor does pressing the call button on my headset do anything.
Instead, I have to frantically dig my phone out of my pocket and scramble to the phone interface and presss "End Call" before the accidental international call goes through.
Is there a way to allow either or both actions in iOS? Or is there a way to submit an enhancement request?

Email is ok, SMS ok, Internet service ok, BBM ok, just the voice doesn't work.v5.0.0.442 (Platform 5.1.0.121)Reloaded the software using BB Desktop. Service provider says phone is probably failed.

For some reason my voice dialing has changed so that now it looks up contacts in last name first order i.e. if I say john smith it looks for a last name "john" This is a new phenomenon that seemingly has been initiated by the device without intervention from me and I can't seem to get it corrected. the contacts folder is sorted by first name.

In both cases it's rare for the voice dialing to recognize the name or numbers I'm saying, even in a quietly running car with the windows closed and no music. Sometimes the guesses are completely off, like when I say "604" for the area code and it asks if I said "644".I've read on this board about training the devie to my voice but I can't see how to do that.As an aside, I hate the voice with the british accent that reads back the name or number - any way to change it to a North American accent?I'm running a 9550 with 5.0.0.320.

Oct 20, 2011Just recently my voice-dial over my bluetooth stopped working - when I hit the button on my headset, all it does it redial the last number I had dialed. I'm not aware of any phone updates since it last worked. I've powered the phone off and on and still no luck. It was bad enough when I had to "wake it up" in order to use it. This is very frustrating - when I'm driving, I'm on the highway. I'm not stopping regularly for traffic lights so I can dial!

Feb 5, 2010I have the Bold 9700, got it last week Thursday. I don't know IF upgrading to the new OS will help this issue, but my VNR seems to be buggy. It won't let me play back what I just recorded. I receive the error message: "Unable to play media". While recording, I watch the time-lapse, and it goes slow. It seems to stay on seconds longer than it should, when in actuality, it has recorded past the time that's shown. I've done batt pulls. Sometimes it'll work and sometimes it won't. I had a Pearl Flip and never exp'd any of these issues.

Dec 5, 2014I have my phone # associated with Google Voice such that when someone calls my Google Voice number ... it rings my iphone and my landling. I have configured GV (just like a lot of other GV users) to make me press 1 to take the incoming call.�
This worked wonderfully on my iphone 4s (IOS 7.x). But there is a problem with either iPhone6 or IOS 8.X� ... now the problem ...�
- When I pickup the call on the cell ... GV asks me to press 1 (like it always does). I press 1 ... No acknowledgement. I can hear the DTMF tone but it does not get registered.
- When I pickup the call on my landline ... I am able to press 1 and accept the incoming call.
- My first thought was there is a bug in IOS when the phone is in the locked screen ... but no ... even when I get the call with the phone unlocked ... it will not register any of the DTMF keys
- To test this I added my wife's iPhone 4 (not 4S) running IOS 7.1 to my GV account. I was able to answer the call by pressing 1.�

May 2, 2010Voice dialing on my Bold 9700 has worked for a long time. The phone is only 2.5 months old.Since last night though, when I click voice dialing, it just says "Scanning contacts", it reaches 100% very quickly, and closes. It never prompts me to say a command.I've tried battery pulls, going into settings -> Voice dial, changing things, and it still happens. If I try to Adapt my Voice, it just scans the contacts, and closes like above.It's rather strange because I haven't made major changes to my phone. I'm still using the main oem theme, and I have absolutely no programs running in the background. (I've held the menu button to see what's open.)
