I could use the phone to talk yesterday, today it sounds like clicking in the background and can't hear the other party. The call says connected. Email is ok, SMS ok, Internet service ok, BBM ok, just the voice doesn't work.v5.0.0.442 (Platform 5.1.0.121)Reloaded the software using BB Desktop. Service provider says phone is probably failed.
View 5 RepliesJust upgraded from bold 9000 to 9700. I upgraded my OS to version .743. After that, I stopped getting visual voice mail notifications. The message is there when I dial "1", but doesn't show up at all under the VVM menu, nor do I get the visual indication(s). It did work on the AT&T OS out of the box. Second issue with this O.S.- phone does not lock when it is in the holster. I have to believe both these issues are with the .743 version of the OS, but I may be missing something. I've read others with the VVM problem, not none of the threads seem to offer a solution except to say that AT&T WAS having issues with this back in November.

For some reason my voice dialing has changed so that now it looks up contacts in last name first order i.e. if I say john smith it looks for a last name "john" This is a new phenomenon that seemingly has been initiated by the device without intervention from me and I can't seem to get it corrected. the contacts folder is sorted by first name.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have the Bold 9700, got it last week Thursday. I don't know IF upgrading to the new OS will help this issue, but my VNR seems to be buggy. It won't let me play back what I just recorded. I receive the error message: "Unable to play media". While recording, I watch the time-lapse, and it goes slow. It seems to stay on seconds longer than it should, when in actuality, it has recorded past the time that's shown. I've done batt pulls. Sometimes it'll work and sometimes it won't. I had a Pearl Flip and never exp'd any of these issues.

The phone is only 2.5 months old.Since last night though, when I click voice dialing, it just says "Scanning contacts", it reaches 100% very quickly, and closes. It never prompts me to say a command.I've tried battery pulls, going into settings -> Voice dial, changing things, and it still happens. If I try to Adapt my Voice, it just scans the contacts, and closes like above.It's rather strange because I haven't made major changes to my phone. I'm still using the main oem theme, and I have absolutely no programs running in the background. (I've held the menu button to see what's open.)

When I push the Voice dialing button, there will appear "Scanning Contacts, please wait...", it will go till 26% and then it just exits and no voice dialing occurs. When I remove all my contacts and I will create a new contact, the voice dialing works well.The solution to remove all my contacts which contains special characters is not acceptable (I have over 600 contacts).

Having the same issues as everyone else for the dropped calls, SMS, etc.I am also having a small issue with the New Message Inditcators.When I get a new email, I can go to the main message folder which shows all the messages. If I view it there, the new message indicator for that folder disappears, but it stays on the other folder (gmail, SMS, etc). Is there a way to get it to clear like on my old Curve? Also, want help with changing the sound for my voicemail notifier. I can't find it anywhere in my sound profiles. Can anyone find it? I want to change it.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have the 9700 Bold.I was listing to a visual voice mail when I received a call.After the call the visual voice mail message is locked.I can delete it but when I get a new visual voice mail the old one I deleted re appears along with the new one and both are locked.All of this occurs in the email app.I can go to the visual voice mail app. And it works as it should.I tried deleting all voice mails in both apps. but it dose not solve the problem once a new message is left.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am new to Blackberry and I have some questions about my 9700. I have tried looking to see if this has been posted but I didnt see anything. I recently installed the .602 OS and did the battery pull and all that hoping it would fix the problem but it hasnt. The problem is when I miss a phone call and receive a voice mail. I do have the visual voice mail set up and to my knowledge that works fine. The visual voice mail alert popup shows up first and when I go to play the VM, it starts playing and then the missed call alert popup shows up on top of VM. I can either open the missed call to view it or dismiss it. If I open it, I cant do anything to the VW since it is still going or not going anymore in background and if I dismiss the missed call, I have to go back a view the missed call in the call log to get the icon to go away. Also, once everything is done, my SMS & MMS folder opens up for no reason that I am aware of. Is this normal for everyones phone? If not, do I have a setting wrong that I am not aware of? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I can't find out how to change this so that it will ring 5,?, 6? 7? times to give me the opportunity to hear it. Any ideas on the solution?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am a new BB user and have asked several people how to speed dial into my office's automated voice mail system to retrieve messages. Previously on standard cell phones, I would dial the phone number, insert "ppp" for pauses while the auto attendant would prompt the next step. There are 3 series of number to get all the way in. Example would be: 800-555-5555ppp555ppp5555ppp5555 and I would be in to retrieve messages.
I have tried a few different options and have be unsuccessful.My carrier is AT&T.BB is a Bold 9700.Does anyone have any suggestions??
Guys having a problem with the Visual Voicemail - I set it up last night and this has never been an issue before withthe previous 9700's. now everytime Im on a call and I get the VM notification It drops the call im on.When I try to view the messages I cant even see it in the Message folder?! guess this is the infamous SMS bug?
View 9 Replies View RelatedSo I have owned a Black Bold 9700 for a while now and about 2 months ago I switched to a White 9700. I would always get at least one day out of my battery in my black 9700. And I was with my white 9700 as well until about 2 weeks ago.I rarely talk on my phone but I am a heavy user with BBM, text and email and a bit with Facebook which I know uses a lot of battery... I have about 90 contacts on BBM and use it constantly everyday -- chatting with 4 to 5 ppl at a time constantly. However, I'm lucky if my battery lasts from 11am until 5pm anymore. I have tried about 3 different batteries and they all have the same issue. I just upgraded my software from .743 to .862 last night.
And I switched over to a brand new OEM battery 2 days ago. I charged my phone overnight and powered it on at 11am and now at 2:14pm I'm sitting at 75% battery life.I don't have many apps on my phone besides Facebook and Weather Eye. The only apps I ever have running everyday are the ones that have to be running constantly (BBM, Phone, Browser, Messages). I rarely even browse the internet and I don't have Bluetooth or Wi-Fi enabled. However, I am always running on 3G.
I just got the bold 9700 ver. 2 from ATT and don't have the phone icon. It is not hidden, I looked, and not in any other folder. All I have is a phone icon that is for Visual Voice Mail, which I am not signed up for and don't want to be. When I click the VVM icon it says do you want to sign up and I hit No and it just kicks me back to the main screen. How can I get rid of the Visual VM icon and get the Call log icon?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI've just gotten a Bold 9700 and noticed that even though I have the option to sync the profile pictures of my friends with my contacts profiles on the phone, the pictures for my phone contacts remain blank. The Facebook profiles are linked to my contacts and sometimes will show the Facebook profile picture but after a while the picture reverts to a blank icon again. I've also unselected the option to sync and re-enabled the option to update Blackberry contacts with my Facebook contacts to try and force the pictures to update but no success.
I was thinking that it might also be because of a conflict wiyth other apps trying to update the contact pictures seeing as I originally imported all my contatcs from my Gmail account but I am unable to figure out which other apps, if any, are updating contact pics and thereby turn them off.
Blackberry contacts linked to a LinkedIn profile show their LinkedIn profile pics correctly though and other than that I only have BB Messenger, GTalk, Windows Live Messenger and Facebook that are linked to my Blackberry contacts.Any ideas on how I can get my contacts' pictures to sync correctly with Facebook?
This issue has been happning for a while, but for the last week or so it has been happening more frequently. A phone call arrives and sends the phone into a reset, similar to what QuickPull would do. No open apps, no error message, it just resets.I have searched a bit, but have not found anyone posting a similar issue so far. I run the stock T-Mobile OS, and a few extra RIM and 3rd party apps.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI use gmail and when I delete an email on the web, it doesn't delete on my BB. The same goes for when I open an email on the web, it doesn't show 'read' on my BB. Interestingly though, if I delete or read an email on my BB, the action is reciprocated on the web.And finally, if I send myself an email (either from the web or my BB), it appears on the web but not on my BB.
