Been having general trouble with Blackberry 9780 lately, which upon re-booting I have now sorted. However, tonight have been sending and receiving texts and now a message has come up on all my texts saying this: Content Protection Is Enabled. How I might get rid of this message and get back to seeing my texts.
View 1 RepliesI've had the phone for about a week and I absolutely love it except that at seemingly random moments my phone will block the viewing of any and all of my SMS messages saying "Content protection is enabled". It will show up at the beginning of newly received messages and even in the middle of real-time conversations between someone else and I and then I have to wait for the message to "go away" so I can read what the response was and continue the conversation. Is it something I'm doing? A default phone feature? Is anyone else experiencing this issue or at least know how to solve it?

I have this old convo with a friend then when I want to check it the bubble chat became GREEN and the messages are gone, I really dont know what happened and when I click it, it is EMPTY!

The user then unlocks the device and <content protection is enabled> is displayed instead of the actual text of the SMS message. If the user closes the SMS and then relaunches it the message is displayed properly. Has anyone else seen this issue? Sounds almost like a software bug...

Last back up was in Jan 2012 and have lots of info/contacts, etc on Blackberry so I would prefer to backup current to date; I just backed up a few minutes ago (so now have 2 backups saved on my desktop); however still need that contact with that info. Can I retrieve only that contact info anywhere, even if I just see it and write it out?

We've recently switched over from Sprint to AT&T (very relieved!) and ported our numbers. We upgraded from HTC Evo 4g LTE's to Galaxy s6's. I have one contact who is also on the AT&T network and for some reason cannot receive any texts from her, either SMS or MMS. She has an iPhone (not sure if 5 or 6). She can receive my text and reply, and it appears to her that they are sent but I never receive them. Here is what we have tried so far:
1. Contacted AT&T tech support. He rebroadcasted my number just in case.
2. AT&T tech checked that all three numbers were ported correctly
3. AT&T tech had me call my friend from my wife's phone and we all three had a convo via speaker phone and tested between my wife's phone and my friends phone, both SMS and MMS with pictures worked fine.
4. Checked that I didn't have her contact blocked in any way.
5. Tried having her turn off iMessage and text, nothing. Tried having her send as SMS, nothing.
6. We deleted each others contact and re-added, nothing.
7. I called AT&T porting (they have their own number) he checked and everything was ported correctly and finalized.
8. probably tried a couple of other things but to no avail
Other than this issue, the phones are fantastic, the network is fantastic.
Iphone says my SMS texts were sent, but the contact isn't getting them, but I can get theirs. They receive messages with pictures added to them, and the text in them, but not text-only messages. Text-only messages are received by other contacts. They were able to receive my text-only messages just fine earlier today.

Even when I receive an overseas sms and I want to reply, when I click on the SEND button, my phone will freeze and I will have to restart my phone and once it restarts this message will always come << uncaught exception: Application net_rim_bb_messaging_app(145) is not responding; process terminated >>. What does that mean? The phone is originally from telus but I unlocked it and now am with koodo and the monthly plan I took with koodo allows me to send unlimited overseas text messages, so now its like am paying for a service I cant use! It has only shown the phone number if the person texting me is not in my contact list.A few days ago, it started showing me only the number that sent the text message. I have no idea why it started this, maybe some wrong buttons got pushed while I was carrying it around in my pocket? It doesn't always lock when I close the phone, and sometimes I don't notice it when I slide the phone into my pocket.I've tried adding the number to my contact list, and it adds it just fine, but the next time I get a text from that number, only the number shows up again.This is quite frustrating, and I would like to get if fixed, does anyone have any ideas as to what I need to do to correct this?Old messages from before this started happening still show the names.I haven't had it connected to my computer since the phone was new and as far as I know, it hasn't done any software upgrades or anything like that.

My BB shows every text thats been sent. Im wanting to compress all these texts into individual lines per contact. I recently switched out my Curve 9350 under warranty, since the old one was overheating and draining the battery. The first one I had didn't have this issue, from the get-go it showed contact names, pictures, and broke the messages down into days, but I could scroll and view all of them. My new one has only shown my text messages in the way I described above.
