Sep 2, 2011So i uninstalled the few apps ive downloaded since the 2.3.4 update and still my phone randomly shuts off and sometimes it freezes. Ill go to make a call or scroll through the screens and for no reason the screen turns black and the only thing that i can do is pull down the notification bar... i have to turn it off and back on for it to work again. My husband has the same phone and his does the same thing since the update so i dont think its a app.

Jun 25, 2012For the past few months, the LED light never blink when the battery became low. It always suddenly shuts down the blackberry even though I don't use much of the battery yet. Last week, it became worse. It happens few times a week. So a few days ago i decided to update the software and restore my blackberry..
Afterwards, it became worse. My phone keep shutting down even though battery is still 85%. It wont turn on even if I press the power button. So I took off the battery and insert it back in and after rebooting, the battery will be left with 50%. This is a software problem, virus or battery problem?
BB Bold :: 9930 Keeps Shutting Down And Rebooting
Mar 26, 2012I have had multiple Blackberry devices over the past 10 years and received the 9930 about 3 weeks ago. I am on my second 9930 now (yes-within the 3 weeks) and the same thing keeps happening. The device turns off and recycles constantly. I pull the battery, wait 3-5 minutes, allow it to re-boot, and make sure there is a charge. Once I pulled the battery and left it out overnight. The device was completely uncharged after I re-installed the battery so I charged it for 24 hours. Nothing has changed and the original issue is still occurring. I have watched Verizon take these out of the box and set them up so I do not believe them to be refurbished.

Nov 12, 2011I'm just wondering if anyone has had this one problem as well. I literally just upgraded from the 9700 to the 9900, less than a week ago. Havent had much time to put all my contacts onto the new phone and only added a couple of appsOn tuesday, my phone just randomly shut off while i was texting someone. After restarting it, i was on a web site, reading and it randomly shut off again.o, in total i believe my phone has randomly shut off on me about 6-7 times since Tuesday. I thought it could be a battery life thing, but i had a minimum half battery each time and the phone turns back on right after it shuts off.ll the software for the phone is all up to date. Just wondering if there's a solution? maybe did I just get a "lemon" for a phone? Maybe should I take it back to Bell or what should I do?

May 10, 2012Brand New Blackberry only a few months old. ATT Bold 9900. All of a sudden in the last couple of days, it has been shutting down randomly. It starts right back up but within a few hours it will shut down again. Also can u back it up without plugging into computer?

Jun 15, 2012I'm new to this forum, so if this problem has been discussed & solved, I apologize. My Bold 9700 keeps dying/shutting down unexpectedly. It takes forever to get it to start back up (flashing red light). Sometimes I even have to remove the battery to get it to react. When the loading bar finishes & the screen comes back on, the battery is completely dead, even though it was at least half full before this happened. BTW, this happened several times with my old battery so I bought a new OEM battery. It's happened twice since then. Even stranger, when I was with a friend today, her Bold did exactly the same thing.

Jul 24, 2010I am posting this thread for a friend who is having some serious issues with her BB 9700. It is a phone that was purchased from TMOBILE that was unlocked so that she can use with her Service provider. During this week gone, she plugged her bb into her PC and an error came up. the PC asked if to fix the error or contnue without scanning. She selected the latter. Then yesterday, when she plugged her phone in to charge it immediately shut off. After putting it back on she plugged it in again to charge and the same thing happened again. Since then, she is unable open her pictures in her media folder- She can only preview it.Also when she tries to send a picture via BBM she only sees two of the pictures that she has on her phone and is unable to select any of them to send to a contact.She also isn't able to change her profile picture in BBM.She has done countless battery pulls and the issues stated still exists. she was however able to charge her phone without it shutting down this morning. But all other issues mentioned still exists.She is running the OS that came with her Phone 5.0.0.330. She had an issue with her Phone previously and when she took it into our service provider they had to downgrade her OS back to stock for it to function properly.If anyone has any solution to the problems stated please reply to this post. Any help would be deeply appreciated. If anyone has had a similar problem and was able to fix it please let me know what u did. Also if anyone has any solutions that they think may help please let me know.

Sep 17, 2010I use SlickTasks and BB Calendar. Past few days I've had a lot going on and can have as many as 8 ST alerts + 3 or so calendar alerts pop up at once. (Don't want it that way, it's just the way it worked out.) Anyway, then by Bold freezes up. Usually under a minute or so, then it finally responds and I can dismiss or delay alerts. Is that too many for the phone to handle? The only thing I've done differently lately is d/l a trial of Calendar Pro last week, but missed the 40% off sale deadline so haven't been using it. No alerts are coming from it.

Jun 10, 2010Phone is completely unusable at this point. When powering up, the progress bar goes to about 75% complete and then freezes. I cant find any information on this problem on the website but maybe I am not phrasing my problem correctly. Anyone have any suggestions on this besides throwing it out and getting a different phone?

Nov 18, 2010I started the wireless update last night before I went to sleep. It got to the restore process and has not moved. I tried a battery pull, I left the battery out for about 2 or 3 minutes. The phone itself is not frozen. It keeps pulling up the icon that lets you know it is TRYING to work, but no progress is being made. This being my third attempt at getting it to work by using a battery pull, It is stuck at 1% and has been trying to complete the update for 28 minutes.

However when I done this, my phone froze, literally 1/10th into the line, so it's still very close to the beginning of the reboot.
