My 9700 turns itself off randomly even after a full charge to the point that its off almost all the time these days. I have to turn it back on by pressing the power button at which point it reboots from scratch taking upto 2 mins for the phone to come to life. I have reinstalled the OS (6) and also had the phone "reflashed" by the service provider all to no avail. I deleted all my apps but it hasnt cured the problem. The battery was replaced about 4 months ago so i dont suspect the battery (but i could be wrong as it was a generic blackberry battery). Do you have any suggestions on how to fix the issue? I dont want to have to bin my blackberry but its quite worthless as a phone right now as i cant depend on it.
Recently my battery gets to 40% and the phone switches off. Once plugged into the charger it re boots- the battery icon is then red and re charges. I've bought a new battery and this does exactly the same thing? I've got a Bold 9700 and not doing anything different than the last year! The battery has to be charged every day, but I do use apps a lot. Its the battery bar status that concerns me... Why does it suddenly go off at 40% with no warning and re charge at 0%?
Ever since my bb crashed due to a jvm error, its acting strange.when i had the jvm error i downloaded and re-installed the os via bb desktop manager on my 9700. problems i have is that sometimes the phone just switchess off. if i want to unlock it the screen stays black for around 10 seconds then it turns on and i have to enter my pin (and then it searches for my mobile network) so its basically the same as when rebooting.also, sometimes when i unlock it the screen is totally white for 10 seconds. after those 10 seconds it sais: verification security software (or something like that, i use the dutch language on it).
in the pastr couple of days my battery just switches off, no warning, no battery drained or anything and when i put the charger on, the battery life is almost half full, i've even resorted to getting a car charger now just to be safe
My iPhone 5 switches itself off randomly at anything up to 43%. It wont restart until I connect to a charger. once connected and switched on, it shows the battery is still 43%.
I will be using my iphone and the back light will randomly shut off and I have to look at my phone from a few angles to see the screen. Then to get it to turn back on I have to keep pressing the sleep/wake button!
I upgraded to 2.3.4 Gingerbread about a week ago. System version is 64.1.22.A953.Retail.en.GB No problem for the first few days but since then the screen switches off randomly (that new CRT-style shutdown, very cute). I can be viewing Google Maps, or using the camera, or browsing the web...doesn't seem to be a single trigger. The screen turns off and if I switch it back on quickly it will switch off again; if I wait a few seconds and switch on then it stops freaking out and the screen stays on.I've been using Cloudskipper and WinAmp with the lockscreen features enabled (since the stock music player on Milestone2 doesn't show up on the lockscreen). Could these be the culprits - is there something unstable in 2.3's lock-screen?Screen timeout and security timeout are set to 60 minutes.
I am on my 2nd blackberry 9700 bold on tmboile and have the same issue where it randomly reboots during the day. I don't have any third party apps and have wiped and reinstalled operating system and tried reinstalling the bbm messenger. I primarily use the blackberry group chat on bbm messenger during the day for the phone and am not sure if thats causing the issue because other members of the bbm group chat are not having any issues. The network is 3G for tmobile in chicago, so I doubt if coverage is issue.
I bought a Bold 9700 in Aug 2010, it has been working fine until 3 weeks back. It hangs / freezes unexpectedly, and although the 3G reception shows that it is full bar, I can't make/receive mobile calls and SMSes. Hence, when someone tries to call me, they can't get through and they can't SMS me to tell me they can't get through to me becos the SMS is not coming through as well!On top of this, I won't know that my phone is hanging until I try to make a call out and discover that my attempt has failed. So basically, I find myself making calls to my wife every hour just to see if my phone is in 'hang' mode And if the call attempt fails, then I'll know to reboot it. However, sometimes it takes a number of reboots (both hard and soft) before it's back up and working. This is a daily occurence happening 2-3 times a day.
*** Strange thing is that during 'hang' mode, although I can't make/receive mobile calls and SMSes, I can still send/receive Emails, BB Messenger and WhatsApp.Now I went to the Blackberry Service Centre and they gave me a one-to-one exchange But the next day after I brought my 'new' Blackberry home.. it hung again!!At this point, I thought that maybe it could be the SIM card causing the problem, so I went to my carrier and got a new SIM card.. just a few hours after... IT HUNG AGAIN! am now holding a 'new' Blackberry Bold 9700 and a new SM card but the same problem persists.
On my brother's 9700, he's experienced two random shut downs. He's with Rogers and has the latest OS installed (.743). He would notice that sometimes the phone sort of shuts off by itself. Normally he would keep the phone on standby or lock, but when he'd go to unlock the phone, he'd notice that none of the keys work (screen remains black). Normally the screen would light up and say that the phone is locked, but this doesn't happen. Then, he would hold down the End key for a couple of seconds to power up the phone, only the phone doesn't boot up from scratch. Instead, the Rogers splash screen would appear and it would go directly to his home screen. The phone is only about a week old and is brand new (not refurbished). Is there some sort of lock/standby feature that I'm unaware of that his phone is going into? Has anyone else experienced this?
Less than a week ago I purchased a blackberry bold 9700 brand new on craigslist. As soon as I got it i updated the software to 5.0.0.862 because on the crackberry i saw most people said it was a good build. I run 2 email accounts on my phone and use bbm. I noticed when i received 2 emails + a bbm at the same time the phone would shut off and i would need to do a battery pull to get it to start up again. But recently i noticed that the battery meter at the top left isnt updating properly. When the phones at 50% i still have 3 out of the 5 blocks. I notice that as it begins to dip a bit low past 50% the phone shuts off and when I just do a battery pull it doesnt seem to start up. Then when i plug in the power after some time the red led comes on and then a white screen with an empty battery shows up with a line through it. Then after a while it goes away and it starts up. Is anyone else facing this problem or know a solution
So I've had my bold 9700 for around 4 months, and today it randomly stopped working. Every time I take the battery out and put it back in it begins to load up the blackberry screen, but gets maybe a 1/4 of the way before flashing white and going completely blank. Then the light turns solid red for a moment and it begins the process again...
For no apparent reason, Bold 9700 connection to bluetooth headest will falter. Audio will switch on and off rapidly. On the phone I can see the bluetooth symbol flash on and off and the volume indicator bar contracts and expands. Voice communication is impossible. Reboots and battery-pulls do not remedy issue. This problem occurs even when I have disabled the bluetooth connection.
My bold 9900 switches off spontaneously even though my battery is fully charged and my phone does not switch on or stay on unless its plugged into my laptop, I want to know if I should buy a new battery
Two days back i put my phone on a car charger and restarted it because an app wasnt working, since then its not working. If I take out the battery and put it in it switches on but the screen goes blank in a few seconds and the phone shuts down. If i put the battery back in and plug it to a charger immediately it stays switched on till the charger is plugged in but shuts down within seconds of removing the charger, i have tried a second battery also but it gives the same message.
i am living in india and when i bought bb bold its home screen showed gsm then some day after it showed edge and now its continuously showing 3g...and signal besides 3g is searching something...now as of this my battery is draining very fast
yesterday my phone switches off automatically at battery level 15, and today at battery level 25 the phone switches off again... Then at the moment I plug my charger cable into my phone (at battery level 15) it reboots and after the reboot the touchscreen no longer works. Then I upgraded Whatsapp and rebooted my phone again to see if it is fixed, but it still isn't the touchscreen simply doesn't work... It doesn't respond when I press on screen icon or scroll or whatever I do.
I got a new BB 9700 Bold yesterday and having problems with setting up the sync for the calendar and the contacts which are on my outlook. My hotmail email accounts are working okay. The outlook is on my PC and is the front face for my hotmail accounts.
When I go in to the BB Desktop device manager - version 5.0.1 (latest version) , I go in to the configure option on the left and it lets me click on calendar> then I select outlook and it then lets me select 'finish'. However at this stage an error box flashes up saying 'no available message stores'. In addition when I check the wifi config on the calendar and contacts icons on the BB device it will not let me select yes on the wireless connection for them.
I have a BB Bold 2 (9700). The Media Card slot wont lock down the card and keeps springing it out. If i keep the card pressed down it works but wont lock down.
I have Outlook 2007 on my desktop computer and use BT as a service provider and for my email, my Blackberry supplier is Vodafone and I use BIS.I have noticed that if my Blackberry receives an email first I don't get the same email delivered to my desktop. If my desktop gets an email first then the same email will be delivered to my Blackberry. I was happily deleting emails from my Blackberry thinking I would have them all on my desktop but I now find I have to check what emails I have on each before I delete anything. Is this an issue that anyone has come acrosss before and how do I resolve it apart from synching the Blackberry and desktop?I'm often away from the desktop which is why I bought the Blackberry in the first place.
I've owned my 9700 for nearly 2 months now and I'm still not used to the keyboard. I prefer my 8310's spaced out keys. has anybody replaced the 9700 keyboard with the Atlas keyboard?
I have a problem with my Blackberry and would be grateful if anyone knows what the problem is.I have only my Blackberry 9700 bold for 1 month or so.I am unable to lock my keypad by using the lock key on top of the phone. This has happened before but after charging my phone it started to work again. I have turned my phone on and off, tried charging it and the button still doesn't work. Although the keypad will lock when I put it into the leather case.Do you think it is a problem with my blackberry and I should return it? Or is this a problem people have had before and if so, how do I fix it?
My Bold is stuck on the boot screen (at about 75%). I've tried many battery pulls with and without the SIM and it keeps doing the same thing. I've searched what I think are all the threads on here relating to this, but I'm still stuck. I'm able to connect to the device if I run Loader.exe like a user suggested, but I don't know how/where to get software to load onto the device. All the places I've searched for an OS says I need to go into the device to find information about it. Well, I can't get into the device to do that. So, how do I know what OS to download and install? I really want to exhaust all possibilities before I have to completely wipe the device because I don't have a current backup. But, even if I wipe the device, I'm going to need to download an OS which I can't do now.
First two locked up constantly and rebooted. All I did was:
Set up Yahoo Mail Download Google Maps, Point, Movies Download One Theme - 18 Icon BlackBerry 9700 Sync with Yahoo Contacts Sync with Lotus Notes Calendar Only. Back Up WiFi connection to home router Bluetooth headset
I have recently purchased this 9700 (3 weeks ago) and am generally very pleased with the device. BUT If I leave the BB 9700 connected overnight to the computers USB Port for charging, and, obviously, after a few hours the computer will go to sleep, thus turning off the power to the USB port In the morning I find that the BB is: Off and will not turn on, unless it is power reset. In other words I have to open up the back and pull the battery for a second then after It is put back in the red light will display nevertheless it will turn on and be fine once it boots back up. There are no other indications or problems. I notice that other people have similar complaints with their BB's.
The other day I walked into a Walmart that had a display of cell phones. There was the 9700 there. I have the 9000. I was really looking forward to upgrading to the 9700, but now I don't know. It's LIKE REALLY small. I love the size of my 9000, and I'm afraid I'm going to have times typing on the 9700 keyboard now.
Okay so I have just got a used BlackBerry Bold from a "pawn shop" and ever since I have got it, when my battery level was 15-30% juice left, it dies whenever im on the phone or when I am on bbm and it wont turn on until I plug in the charger, now once I plug it in, the red light goes solid and the phone resets itself, I then turn it right back on, I go on the main menu, then options, than status, and the battery went right down to 5% power
My Blackberry bold 9780 keeps turning off randomly when the battery reaches under 50%. I brought a new battery, but still the same problem still happens. I cannot update the phone as the charging port in my phone has broke?
Two months ago my Bold 9780 started switching off randomly, even if battery was still charged. I bought new batteries, original ones and it kept doing it. I use it quite a lot and while I write an email or on BBM it just dies completely and then I have to restart it by battery pull. It's not doing it all the time, every 5 minutes. So the batteries are new, the device has the latest update and I don't know what to do. I badly need the phone and have no time to take it to the repairs and all that?
