So I've had my bold 9700 for around 4 months, and today it randomly stopped working. Every time I take the battery out and put it back in it begins to load up the blackberry screen, but gets maybe a 1/4 of the way before flashing white and going completely blank. Then the light turns solid red for a moment and it begins the process again...
View 4 RepliesI was recently received a brand new Bold 9700 from an aunt in Canada and I had only been using it in the UK for 3 weeks when the screen suddenly went completely white.I can still receive calls, and I can hear bbms and emails arriving but I can't see anything at all. I've have tried the battery pull many times but it still remains the same. I've been told that RIM usually offers a year's warranty on new products but because it was bought in Canada, none of the networks here in the UK are willing to take it in for repair.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo i came off my phone 1am & everything was cool, during the night i noticed it seemed to be booting up as if it had been battery pulled. When i got up it was still doing this but the progress bar gets a quarter of the way then the screen goes blank & it starts again. It has now been about 8 hours & its STILL doing this. Whats going on & how can i get my phone working again?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded to a bold through Orange (UK Network Provider), phone has been great so far, I have had it for a week. However, I made a call and came back to my phone to find a blank screen and the red light flashing/staying constant intermittently. The phone does not turn on, I have tried taking battery out, sim out, memory card out, attaching it to my computer (which it does not recognize as it needs to be on) charging it etc. I have tried that alt, cap and del reset mechanism too.
Orange told me I will have to send it off this week, but does anyone know any quick fix to turn it on? I have all my contacts on there, stupidly I did not back it up.
I have a bell blackberry bold 9700 unlocked. My provider is with rogers and I have purchased this phone about 5 months ago. About 2 - 3 times a day my bb 9700 screen will blank out and go completely white. I would have to do a battery pull and then my bb will restart and everything will be fine. I have wiped my phone, downgrade the software and upgrade it again. Still nothing is resolved with it blanking out 2 - 3 times a day.

Bolt works for me but browser does not. I can't even change my default browser to browser anymore or even change it to bolt. It just gives me option of hotspot and web2go. How do I fix this problem? Going to HRT and registering still will not give me my browser back or the option to pick it as default browser like I previously had.

The phone is only 2.5 months old.Since last night though, when I click voice dialing, it just says "Scanning contacts", it reaches 100% very quickly, and closes. It never prompts me to say a command.I've tried battery pulls, going into settings -> Voice dial, changing things, and it still happens. If I try to Adapt my Voice, it just scans the contacts, and closes like above.It's rather strange because I haven't made major changes to my phone. I'm still using the main oem theme, and I have absolutely no programs running in the background. (I've held the menu button to see what's open.)

Over 2 days it got worse and now it completely stopped. Also what I typed was displayed with a delay. Looks like a virus I'm afraid. View 1 Replies View RelatedI noticed that today the BIS over WIFI stopped working. This is concerning me because last year (June 2010) the same issue happened. The WIFI indicator turns from White to Gray and all BIS is routed through the GSM connection. This frustrates me because I travel overseas and have been using BIS over WIFI for about two years now. However during the two month outage from June - July 2010, I was unable to utilize BIS over WIFI until it suddenly started working again.
I have a data plan that allows for 250MB of data per month.

Like I've stated before, BIS over WIFI has been working flawlessly for about two years (except for the two month in 2010). To add insult to injury, nobody from either BlackBerry or Vodafone Spain has been able to come up with an explanation as of why this service suddenly stops. All I'm being told is that BIS will work with GSM, which is pointless information. For the 22 months I've used BIS, it has worked over WIFI.
over the weekend i unlocked all of the vendor themes, so i have ATT's, Rogers, TIM, and some other native themes on my US T-Mobile branded phone. I brought up the ATT theme and put it on my phone. everything is "ATT" about the theme with the exception of the "t-mobile" as my network ID at the top of the phone.
and i started walking down a local mall when a "t-mobile" rep working at a kiosk stopped me and said hey what phone do you have, it's hidden in that big otter box...so i said i had a t-Mobile 9700.. .. .. and i pulled it out of the holster to show him... so he said " that "ATT" on the wall paper, and that theme isn't ours or 3rd party... ... ... thats ATT's theme" so i said "Yea it is, i like how the boxes don't fade away....". he looked at me like i was joking with him..then i showed him that i have Rogers/Orange/TIM and the others. Pretty classic look on his face when he saw an ATT theme on T-Mobile phone.
I'm using a TMobile Blackberry 9700 (OS 5.0.0.714) and have 6 email accounts attached, including 4 gmail accounts, one Yahoo! account, and another IMAP account through a private host. I use Apple's standard mail app (v4.5) in Leopard (OSX 10.6.8). A few months ago I finally figured out all of the IMAP tweaks between my private host and the gmail settings to get sync working correctly (finally!). In other words, if I delete a message on my phone, it's deleted from my laptop as well, and if I read a message on my laptop, it shows up as read on my phone. etc.
A few weeks ago, without making ANY changes to settings on my phone, computer, or mail accounts, all of these features stopped working. So a message deleted on my phone still shows up as a "new" message on my computer. Messages read or deleted on my laptop still show up as new/unread on my phone. I resent the service book. Even deleted the accounts from the phone and set them up again from scratch... same problem. I know that IMAP is still working correctly at the server level because if I delete a message on my iPad it is automatically deleted from the laptop and vice versa.
Messages deleted from the gmail website are automatically removed from my laptop. The problem only occurs with the Blackberry. The only reason I have stuck with Blackberry (instead of jumping to iPhone) is because of the superior messaging on Blackberry...and I do a ton of messaging. I am at a complete loss as to why the IMAP sync would just stop working without making any changes to my settings or device configuration. The sync also stopped working on my Yahoo! account and on my private ISP's email account.
I have a Blackberry Bold 9700 which was replaced under warranty in January this year. T mobile told me that they could not repair the old one and therefore it was replaced with a new one - the keyboard and lock button has now stopped working on this some of the time meaning it can't be used as I cannot unlock it. Despite the fact that it was only brand new in January as the contract is over 2 years now they say there is no warranty on it but speak to Blackberry can't find any other way of doing this?

Day before yestersday night, i went to sleep with my phone at 60% battery left and alarms turned on for 6:00AM. When the alarm started ringing i saw that the screen was grey in color and could not turn the screen on, nor could see anything at all. I pressed the power button, but it turns off the alarm but the screen still stays grey but nothing is visible. The power button also does not help to switch off the phone neither does the volume keys help. I have to remove the battery and reinsert it to get the phone back to work. and when i switch it on again the battery is still 45%. I wrote to HTC service center and they asked me to do a master reset. I did, twice, but the problem still exists. Its so random that i cannot predict What triggers this. It happend once when i was doing nothing and nothind went off ( alaram, or call or message)

If i go to google i can type in what i want to search but then when i hit enter it doesnt respond, same as if i try to click on the search icon it doesnt do anything. If once on any page i can move the arrow around just unable to click or do anything else and if i need to reinstall browser please let me know what my options are.
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy 4 month old Blackberry Bold 9700 bought through Bell Mobility stopped working 2-3 weeks ago; was unable to send/receive calls or text even with the signal strength indicator showing full strength and the 3G symbol showing. Returned the phone to Bell Mobility for repairs and the phone was returned after about 2 weeks, but still not working. We could not find any scratch at all on the glass that covers the LCD display, and phone does not work, so have to wonder if they looked at the right phone. I Called the Bell Mobility service center, and they had the tech at the store reload the software again, third time this was done, still not working. Also reloading software on my phone apparently takes much longer than normal, about one hour.
Tech support at Bell finally told me the phone was not fixable, and gave me a ticket number to get a replacement phone through the Bell Mobility premium plan warranty I had purchased. Called thinking I would finally get a phone that works, but the insurance company that deals with the Bell Mobility warranty said that because the phone is under the one year manufacturers warranty they would not cover it, and it would cost me $150 if they were to replace the phone.
The customer service lady would not tell me what revisit means, but it seems to mean I will not be getting a working Blackberry any time soon. RIM also does not seem to offer or honor a warranty? I find it hard to believe that RIM offers no customer support or warranty on their Blackberry products, but could not find any information on a warranty in the booklets that came with the phone. Either way, the service rep at RIM told me they do not offer warranty repair services for their products and I would have to deal with the company that sold me the phone, Bell Mobility. These Blackberry phones are not cheap, so I cant really afford to buy a few of them for back up.
so i have a blackberry curve and randomly it just turns to a white screen and becomes unresponsive. When i take the battery out it has a white screen with a box, like the one that shows when its loading and then eventually it turns back to the blank white screen.Then only way i can get the phone to turn back on is by plugging it in the charger. Then again it randomly goes back to the blank white screen while im using it

I've heard that I need to press and hold the lock and home button at the same time but the thing is my lock button broke about a month ago for no reason either. My phone is past the one year warrenty. Am I seriously going to have to pay the big bucks to get my phone replaced? This is rediculous as I've taken amazing care of my phone, always used screen covers, good case etc. Not only that, I am expecting a few big calls this week that I can't miss.

I've tried taking the battery and sim card out, I've tried updating my phone (the guy at my location bell store told me to do, he's seen this a lot) but nothing is working. I would really enjoy finding the answer to my problem without sending my phone away.
