Jan 5, 2010Out of the blue browser stopped working for me and says: Unable to connect to the internet, please try again later. This has been going on for about a week. Bolt works for me but browser does not. I can't even change my default browser to browser anymore or even change it to bolt. It just gives me option of hotspot and web2go. How do I fix this problem? Going to HRT and registering still will not give me my browser back or the option to pick it as default browser like I previously had.

May 2, 2010Voice dialing on my Bold 9700 has worked for a long time. The phone is only 2.5 months old.Since last night though, when I click voice dialing, it just says "Scanning contacts", it reaches 100% very quickly, and closes. It never prompts me to say a command.I've tried battery pulls, going into settings -> Voice dial, changing things, and it still happens. If I try to Adapt my Voice, it just scans the contacts, and closes like above.It's rather strange because I haven't made major changes to my phone. I'm still using the main oem theme, and I have absolutely no programs running in the background. (I've held the menu button to see what's open.)

Nov 19, 2011The trackpath on my Bold 9700 slowly stopped working. First when I for example wanted to scroll right it randomly went left, up, down and sometimes right. Over 2 days it got worse and now it completely stopped. Also what I typed was displayed with a delay. Looks like a virus I'm afraid. Somebody any advice what to do (please take in mind that I cannot use my my trackpath so whatever needs to be done need to be via laptop / BlackBerry Desktop software)

Jun 14, 2010I noticed that today the BIS over WIFI stopped working. This is concerning me because last year (June 2010) the same issue happened. The WIFI indicator turns from White to Gray and all BIS is routed through the GSM connection. This frustrates me because I travel overseas and have been using BIS over WIFI for about two years now. However during the two month outage from June - July 2010, I was unable to utilize BIS over WIFI until it suddenly started working again.
I have a data plan that allows for 250MB of data per month.
My contract is through Vodafone Spain
My device is the Bold 9700
My OS version is 5.0 bundle 1022
Like I've stated before, BIS over WIFI has been working flawlessly for about two years (except for the two month in 2010). To add insult to injury, nobody from either BlackBerry or Vodafone Spain has been able to come up with an explanation as of why this service suddenly stops. All I'm being told is that BIS will work with GSM, which is pointless information. For the 22 months I've used BIS, it has worked over WIFI.

Every time I take the battery out and put it back in it begins to load up the blackberry screen, but gets maybe a 1/4 of the way before flashing white and going completely blank. Feb 1, 2010over the weekend i unlocked all of the vendor themes, so i have ATT's, Rogers, TIM, and some other native themes on my US T-Mobile branded phone. I brought up the ATT theme and put it on my phone. everything is "ATT" about the theme with the exception of the "t-mobile" as my network ID at the top of the phone.
and i started walking down a local mall when a "t-mobile" rep working at a kiosk stopped me and said hey what phone do you have, it's hidden in that big otter box...so i said i had a t-Mobile 9700.. .. .. and i pulled it out of the holster to show him... so he said " that "ATT" on the wall paper, and that theme isn't ours or 3rd party... ... ... thats ATT's theme" so i said "Yea it is, i like how the boxes don't fade away....". he looked at me like i was joking with him..then i showed him that i have Rogers/Orange/TIM and the others. Pretty classic look on his face when he saw an ATT theme on T-Mobile phone.
BB Bold :: 9700 - IMAP / Sync Suddenly Stopped Working?
Jan 16, 2012I'm using a TMobile Blackberry 9700 (OS 5.0.0.714) and have 6 email accounts attached, including 4 gmail accounts, one Yahoo! account, and another IMAP account through a private host. I use Apple's standard mail app (v4.5) in Leopard (OSX 10.6.8). A few months ago I finally figured out all of the IMAP tweaks between my private host and the gmail settings to get sync working correctly (finally!). In other words, if I delete a message on my phone, it's deleted from my laptop as well, and if I read a message on my laptop, it shows up as read on my phone. etc.
A few weeks ago, without making ANY changes to settings on my phone, computer, or mail accounts, all of these features stopped working. So a message deleted on my phone still shows up as a "new" message on my computer. Messages read or deleted on my laptop still show up as new/unread on my phone. I resent the service book. Even deleted the accounts from the phone and set them up again from scratch... same problem. I know that IMAP is still working correctly at the server level because if I delete a message on my iPad it is automatically deleted from the laptop and vice versa.
Messages deleted from the gmail website are automatically removed from my laptop. The problem only occurs with the Blackberry. The only reason I have stuck with Blackberry (instead of jumping to iPhone) is because of the superior messaging on Blackberry...and I do a ton of messaging. I am at a complete loss as to why the IMAP sync would just stop working without making any changes to my settings or device configuration. The sync also stopped working on my Yahoo! account and on my private ISP's email account.
BB Bold :: 9700 Keyboard And Lock Button Has Now Stopped Working
Apr 19, 2012I have a Blackberry Bold 9700 which was replaced under warranty in January this year. T mobile told me that they could not repair the old one and therefore it was replaced with a new one - the keyboard and lock button has now stopped working on this some of the time meaning it can't be used as I cannot unlock it. Despite the fact that it was only brand new in January as the contract is over 2 years now they say there is no warranty on it but speak to Blackberry can't find any other way of doing this?

Mar 16, 2010On my 9700 i can open the browser, and type in links or whatever i want into it, however once the new site shows up, it will no longer let me do anything. If i go to google i can type in what i want to search but then when i hit enter it doesnt respond, same as if i try to click on the search icon it doesnt do anything. If once on any page i can move the arrow around just unable to click or do anything else and if i need to reinstall browser please let me know what my options are.

Sep 3, 2010My 4 month old Blackberry Bold 9700 bought through Bell Mobility stopped working 2-3 weeks ago; was unable to send/receive calls or text even with the signal strength indicator showing full strength and the 3G symbol showing. Returned the phone to Bell Mobility for repairs and the phone was returned after about 2 weeks, but still not working. We could not find any scratch at all on the glass that covers the LCD display, and phone does not work, so have to wonder if they looked at the right phone. I Called the Bell Mobility service center, and they had the tech at the store reload the software again, third time this was done, still not working. Also reloading software on my phone apparently takes much longer than normal, about one hour.
Tech support at Bell finally told me the phone was not fixable, and gave me a ticket number to get a replacement phone through the Bell Mobility premium plan warranty I had purchased. Called thinking I would finally get a phone that works, but the insurance company that deals with the Bell Mobility warranty said that because the phone is under the one year manufacturers warranty they would not cover it, and it would cost me $150 if they were to replace the phone.
The customer service lady would not tell me what revisit means, but it seems to mean I will not be getting a working Blackberry any time soon. RIM also does not seem to offer or honor a warranty? I find it hard to believe that RIM offers no customer support or warranty on their Blackberry products, but could not find any information on a warranty in the booklets that came with the phone. Either way, the service rep at RIM told me they do not offer warranty repair services for their products and I would have to deal with the company that sold me the phone, Bell Mobility. These Blackberry phones are not cheap, so I cant really afford to buy a few of them for back up.

Jul 28, 2011I've had my Blackberry Bold through T-Mobile for over a year and never had problems with the e-mail service. It is set up with my Yahoo account and I have always been able to send and receive email from my phone just fine. Just in the last 24 hours, though, my service stopped working. I cannot send any emails, it errors with that blasted red X, and I cannot receive any new emails even though my email account in itself works -- I send emails from my work account to my Yahoo account on the computer, and I can see the emails are coming in when I check my email on the computer but nothing is registering on my phone.
I've Googled my way through various troubleshooting tips, I've shut the device off and back on, I've removed the battery and SIM card and put it back again, I've tried to go to Manage Internet Email but it says it cannot connect. I've gone to Blackberry Internet Service on the T-Mobile website and it does not show that I have a e-mail account configured, even though I've been using email on my phone the entire time. I try to set up my email there on the website and it says, lo and behold, that that email is already registered on my device! There is nothing wrong with my network connection on the phone, I have full 3G signal or EDGE signal (depending on what part of the room I'm in here at work). I have not changed any settings on my phone at all and my email just stopped working out of nowhere.

Aug 4, 2012I have tried deleting it and re-adding it (several times). Had the Sprint store try different options including a reeboot in their system. Had GoDaddy check their system. Pulled the battery while phone was on, and off. Nothing is working! It is the account I receive time sensitive work on. It is a Bold 9650 and all my other email accounts (even from Go Daddy) are working fine.

Jul 17, 2010just got a new Bold 9700 and is having trouble setting up the email. When we go through the wizard on the device, everything seems ok. The wizard takes the info, and says that a new icon is now on the home screen and email is ready to use. No icon is displayed (it is not hidden, i've checked), and when I attempt to send an email from the Messages application an error message comes up that says, "No message services configured. You will be redirected to the Setup Wizard to set up your email account."
I've also tried (numerous times) sending the service books, updating the host routing table, and doing hard reboots (removing battery). None of those seem to make a difference. If it matters, she is able to send SMS texts, and use BBM without an issue. I've emailed the accounts we have tried setting up (from my laptop) but the emails are not recieved on her device (they are in her inbox - checked on laptop).
BB Bold :: 9700 Email Setup Not Working
Nov 4, 2011Recently I had to change my gmail password and now I am not able to receive email on my device. I am using the bold 9700 and upgraded to OS 6. When I go into setup manager and I click on email nothing happens. Is there any way I can either delete the old inbox that was on my phone and resetup a new email box, or change my password on the device so that I can get my email working again.

Jan 30, 2010At first I set up my email just like I had it on my E71. I have 3 accounts on nokia messaging. It worked for about 3 weeks, until one day I just stopped recieving emails. The mailboxes would no connect. When I open the mail box, the circle in the right hand corner, is always Red, used to be green, but now its red.
So I try to connect manually, I go to options and click connect. But it won't connect, I try to synchronize by clicking send and receive but nothing, its simply won't connect to the mail box. I think it might have something to do with the access point. This new E72 is really frustrating me. I miss my E71's simplicity and reliability. Anyone know how I can fix my email problem? This is useless to me without push email.

I have checked this in Settings, and re-entered my password (and indeed all possible passwords), but it's still telling me it Cannot Get Mail. Do I need to delete this account and reinstall it?
