Suddently, BBM and Email stopped working on Wifi. However, internet browsing on Wifi works fine!I tried resstarting it and also removing the battery and placing it again. Problem still persists.I tried opening the settings and clicking on email setup, I got a message that said: cannot connect to server!What server is it talking about? RIM server?
View 3 RepliesI am currently out of town and have turned off my mobile network in order to avoid long distance charges. However I enabled wifi where I am staying so I may still be able to use the blackberry applications such as bbm, facebook, weather network, blackberry app world etc.Everything has been working fine for the first two days but has then recently stopped. I can still browse the web, but my bbm msgs are not going through nor am i receiving any, fb alerts have stopped coming in and so on.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI noticed that today the BIS over WIFI stopped working. This is concerning me because last year (June 2010) the same issue happened. The WIFI indicator turns from White to Gray and all BIS is routed through the GSM connection. This frustrates me because I travel overseas and have been using BIS over WIFI for about two years now. However during the two month outage from June - July 2010, I was unable to utilize BIS over WIFI until it suddenly started working again.
I have a data plan that allows for 250MB of data per month.

Like I've stated before, BIS over WIFI has been working flawlessly for about two years (except for the two month in 2010). To add insult to injury, nobody from either BlackBerry or Vodafone Spain has been able to come up with an explanation as of why this service suddenly stops. All I'm being told is that BIS will work with GSM, which is pointless information. For the 22 months I've used BIS, it has worked over WIFI.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've had my Blackberry Bold through T-Mobile for over a year and never had problems with the e-mail service. It is set up with my Yahoo account and I have always been able to send and receive email from my phone just fine. Just in the last 24 hours, though, my service stopped working. I cannot send any emails, it errors with that blasted red X, and I cannot receive any new emails even though my email account in itself works -- I send emails from my work account to my Yahoo account on the computer, and I can see the emails are coming in when I check my email on the computer but nothing is registering on my phone.
I've Googled my way through various troubleshooting tips, I've shut the device off and back on, I've removed the battery and SIM card and put it back again, I've tried to go to Manage Internet Email but it says it cannot connect. I've gone to Blackberry Internet Service on the T-Mobile website and it does not show that I have a e-mail account configured, even though I've been using email on my phone the entire time. I try to set up my email there on the website and it says, lo and behold, that that email is already registered on my device! There is nothing wrong with my network connection on the phone, I have full 3G signal or EDGE signal (depending on what part of the room I'm in here at work). I have not changed any settings on my phone at all and my email just stopped working out of nowhere.
I have tried deleting it and re-adding it (several times). Had the Sprint store try different options including a reeboot in their system. Had GoDaddy check their system. Pulled the battery while phone was on, and off. Nothing is working! It is the account I receive time sensitive work on. It is a Bold 9650 and all my other email accounts (even from Go Daddy) are working fine.

I am from Toronto (I'm on Virgin) and I am currently in Switzerland on vacation. I have been using BBM and email over wifi without any problems over the last few days. However, recently BBM and email have stopped working on my phone. Facebook, the App Store, WhatsApp, etc. all work fine, but BBM and email do not.
I have noticed that I no longer have the Blackberry BB icon in the top right-hand corner of my phone (where it shows wifi connection, etc). How do I get BBM/email working again?
I've found a problem with last system update for my smartphone: Android hotspot doesn't allow to access Internet.
The version of the update is 23.0.1.A.3.9
I've seen that the wifi connection between PC and phone works fine (in fact, if a server is mounted on phone, the PC finds it and can connect to the server) and the connection from the phone to another hotspot works, but if the node is the phone, the tunnelling between mobile data connection and wifi network, doesn't work (as no route is made!), so, PC connects to phone, but can't access to the Net.
Suddenly my wifi stopped working and it gave disabled under the wifi name!!! WHATS GOING ON?

For some time I've been using the WiFi, which comes in particularly handy in those places I visit where I can't get a cellular signal. Recently the WiFi just stopped working. It's turned on, it just does not work. I've uninstalled a number of applications, rebooted the phone and took it in to the Cellular South store, where the Hero expert looked at it. Their suggestion was a hard reset, which would wipe out everything on the phone. It would all have to be reloaded afterward. The suggestion came with no guarantee and they said that it might have to be replaced if the reset did not cure the problem. I've experienced other problems with the Hero falling back to "base Android" when the HTC Sense application got set to not autostart. This probably due to interaction with some downloaded application.
My question is if anyone else has experienced WiFi not working and knows of any non-destructive fixes for the problem? (e.g. look for a particular program that needs to be restarted)

A recent update (7.1) for iPhone has completely crippled my 4s wifi, it won't switch on.. most of the time I have no 3G either & the phone is mush slower than before. I've tried the online fixes ( reboot & reset) I've been to my local Apple Store, who inform me the phone can't be fixed & is out of warranty. I still have 6 months to run on my O2 contract...... is there nothing I can do about this. Â

It shows the network SSID and signal strength, and I've entered and saved the WEP password, but it just won't connect. I have powered off the phone, and the router, and all my other devices are working, but the Razr MAXX just won't connect.

I got the HD a couple of days ago and upgraded the software the first evening I got the phone.. Then the WIFI just stopped working ( said I was connected but yet no pages would load which was very frustrating..)..Took phone back to shop and got a new one now , with 2.2 on it which works fine.. View 1 Replies View RelatedAt first I set up my email just like I had it on my E71. I have 3 accounts on nokia messaging. It worked for about 3 weeks, until one day I just stopped recieving emails. The mailboxes would no connect. When I open the mail box, the circle in the right hand corner, is always Red, used to be green, but now its red.
So I try to connect manually, I go to options and click connect. But it won't connect, I try to synchronize by clicking send and receive but nothing, its simply won't connect to the mail box. I think it might have something to do with the access point. This new E72 is really frustrating me. I miss my E71's simplicity and reliability. Anyone know how I can fix my email problem? This is useless to me without push email.
I recently restored my iPhone 4 from the iTunes backup. Since this time, my emails have stopped working even though the underlying account still operate ( btinternet.com) and my iPad still operates ok.

Now every time I open up the email widget, it keeps asking me for my password and says login unsuccessful when I enter the password and try to login.Just an hour earlier, it was working fine.

I deleted and re-setup the email account twice and now I only receive automatic emails from servers like apple and outlook. The SMTP settings are great and I can send emails with no problem. I have tried resetting the phone(home and sleep/wake buttons) and I have completely deleted the email account on the phone and set it up again twice. The settings are correct. I am not receiving any error messages at all. The problem is the phone is not downloading any emails from the POP3 server. The Only emails I have received since I setup the account again has been from Apple to let me know my password was reset, and one from Outlook to let me know I had tested my settings on my laptop. I am able to send/receive emails on my laptop using the same pop3 server. I have changed the Fetch New Data settings to every available option and it has not made any difference. It connects to the server and says its updated but no emails show up.

I've tried to remove my battery, I've entered it like 30 +times, I even deleted the email from my phone. Now I can't add it back, it keeps saying that it's an invalid password and it can't validate, and to contact hotmail.com. I even changed my password on hotmail.com, I just logged into my hotmail on the actual computer with the correct same password, the same one that my BB won't take. When I put in my password on the email setup page it says, "Processing, please wait..." Then I get this error, "Invalid email address or password. Verify your email address and password. If the error persist, contact hotmail.com. " I have other email accounts on my phone that are working just fine.
