in the pastr couple of days my battery just switches off, no warning, no battery drained or anything and when i put the charger on, the battery life is almost half full, i've even resorted to getting a car charger now just to be safe
My iPhone 5 switches itself off randomly at anything up to 43%. It wont restart until I connect to a charger. once connected and switched on, it shows the battery is still 43%.
My 9700 turns itself off randomly even after a full charge to the point that its off almost all the time these days. I have to turn it back on by pressing the power button at which point it reboots from scratch taking upto 2 mins for the phone to come to life. I have reinstalled the OS (6) and also had the phone "reflashed" by the service provider all to no avail. I deleted all my apps but it hasnt cured the problem. The battery was replaced about 4 months ago so i dont suspect the battery (but i could be wrong as it was a generic blackberry battery). Do you have any suggestions on how to fix the issue? I dont want to have to bin my blackberry but its quite worthless as a phone right now as i cant depend on it.
I will be using my iphone and the back light will randomly shut off and I have to look at my phone from a few angles to see the screen. Then to get it to turn back on I have to keep pressing the sleep/wake button!
I upgraded to 2.3.4 Gingerbread about a week ago. System version is 64.1.22.A953.Retail.en.GB No problem for the first few days but since then the screen switches off randomly (that new CRT-style shutdown, very cute). I can be viewing Google Maps, or using the camera, or browsing the web...doesn't seem to be a single trigger. The screen turns off and if I switch it back on quickly it will switch off again; if I wait a few seconds and switch on then it stops freaking out and the screen stays on.I've been using Cloudskipper and WinAmp with the lockscreen features enabled (since the stock music player on Milestone2 doesn't show up on the lockscreen). Could these be the culprits - is there something unstable in 2.3's lock-screen?Screen timeout and security timeout are set to 60 minutes.
my CURVE 8520 switches itself off, without warning, even in conversation. I have already replaced the SIM card but the problem persists. My phone is still under warranty (purchased in March 2010), what should I do?
Device info : Blackberry 8900 v4.6.1.199 (Platform 4.2.0.102)I bought my blackberry curve couple of days ago and everything is fine but what happens sometimes is that the screen swtiches off like when you put it in the cover for example but the problem is that while I am using it suddenly the screen switches off (goes blank) and I try pressing buttons or the track ball or the lock button .. nothing happens .. I wait couple of more seconds and then the screen comes back and I continue using it normally. It is happening alot now , do you think it is a software problem or not ?Does the cover that came with the blackberry curve has to do with it ? Like a magnetic thing or something ?
I am using blackberry curve 8520 and recently i am experiencing problems...the screen suddenly turns white and switches off and only when i connect it to the charger it switches back on...
This problem just started of recent, my device no longer stay on 3G for 5 minutes, it automatically switches to EDGE, I have contact my service provider but the step they gave to me aren't working @ all, what to do in order to have 3G stay permanent on my curve 9300 series device...
My clock feature used to automatically switch on when I plugged in my BB at night. The alarm clock function would stay in night mode all night so I could periodically check the time without pressing any button. After the upgrade the phone no longer switches into clock mode when I plug even though the clock setting is set to "display clock".If I go to the menu and press on the clock, the time shows and alarm is set and continues to function as an alarm. However, the screen blacks out so I am unable to see what time it is.Needless to say I have tried every setting I can think of including rebooting.I am considering a wipe but I am not sure if that will work either.Any know issues with the alarm clock with this upgrade?
I have a Curve 3G 9300 and today it froze and then went into the black reboot screen with the white bar going across showing loading progress. I didnt ask it to do this nor did I press anything as both times it was in its pouch playing music.
I just bought a used 8310 from a bidding website, and the problem ive got is the phone is usable as long as not much is being done on it, but when you start using apps like fb, msn, bbm and others(not at once) somehow the phone shuts down itself without any warning, and it cant be turned on unless its plugged to electricity or battery is removed and replaced, only to be shut down in short time after its turned on, for it to be somehow usable for some time more it must be charged for a few. I checked the status option and its got plenty free space(24mb) ive spent countless hours researching for the same problem online, and many say its the OS, but ive downgraded it, then ugraded it, rebooted it, master rebooted it, done everything to it but technically nothing works(after OS upgrade it worked perfectly with apps for around 3 hours). Oh and i forgot to say battery compsuption seems quite high, after its done charging its at 100%, then use msn and fb for around and hour and goes down to 80% couple of shut downs and turn ons after its at 5%. So, anyone has an idea what the problem might be? I dont want to buy a new battery to later find out its the phone that its deffective, and if its deffective anyone had any luck repairing it? the phone works perfectly while plugged in to an outlet or pc, it does not shut itself off at all.
I have this BB 8350i with the software v5 and its been a couple days it keeps resetting it self at any random moment and sometimes many times in a row.
I purchased a BlackBerry 9320 last week, and at the start of this week the phone started to unlock itself when ever it wanted, even if it was on the table and not being touched. I restored the phone to its factory defaults and this has made no difference in trying to resolve the problem.
my curve randomly turned itself off this morning (battery at 90%) and will not turn back on. I have removed the battery and tried to charge it; nothing.
my girlfriends curve 9300 has been randomly shutting itself off. It's a little over a year old (no longer in warranty) and has no water damage. Once shut off, it needs to be plugged-in in order to start itself back up (hard restart process, taking apprx. 3 minutes). We have tried replacing the battery, I have reset it to factory settings, reloaded the OS from scartch, upgraded, downgraded, everythign I could think of, and yet the problem persists. We went to her provider (Virgin Mobile) but they were useless, and told us to make sure the blackberry is fully upgraded and if its still not working then we're out of luck.I understand that the blackberry is now out of warrantly however I am interested in the approximate cost and time for a repair, and we really can't afford a new blackberry at the moment.
I have a Blackberry curve 9300. My phone randomly reset itself, and on doing so, crashed half way through, displaying 'KVM error 528'. I have plugged my phone into my PC and it won't read it. What do I do? I need my phone for work. I can live with everything being wiped because I can reinstall everything during the day tomorrow but I need it for my business.
OK so basically my blackberry curve 8520 will turn on fine, but it keeps restarting itself at random times when I play music or if I am half way through writing a message to someone, if it restarts when I am playing music it makes a funny loud noise. It is really starting to test my patients and it keeps restarting when I type to people. Sometimes the blackberry will go onto a white screen before restarting, sometimes it will just freeze and go off, then sometimes it will just go off with a flashing red light. I don't know what is wrong with it and I cannot find another person with he same person
I've been having trouble with my phone a lot lately. The battery doesn't last more than 3 hours, so I just assumed I was in need of a new battery..Then tonight it suddenly shut off, and then when it restarted it shut off again and continued to do this until I took out the battery to restart it.I took out the Micro SD card, in case that's the problem. Also it only turns back on when it is plugged into a charger..
They will automatically shut down and reboot. It seems to be very sensitive to being set down, even into my purse. It is random and can happen constantly or just a few times a day. It is showing the water damage indicator on the battery, but neither phone has really every been wet. The person at our retail store said it is very sensitive to humidity -(such as being in the bathroom during a shower) and we have had very high humidity levels in our area lately, but that seems rather extreme that our 2 1/2 month old phones can't stand the heat and humidity? They are both working properly if we can get them to stay on.
My wife has a Blackberry Curve 9300 on O2 in the UK. My wife locks the phone, tests that it is locked ok, which it is. Then she puts it in her handbag. She'll then take it out a bit later, and the phone will be unlocked, sometimes with something open. How can this happen? The only way of unlocking it is using the unlock button on the top of the device, which isn't easy, even when you're trying to.
my 'e' key has randomly stopped working today. problem is, the letter e is in my password, so I cannot get into my phone. how can I bypass my password?
my curve 8320 keeps rebooting randomly. I got it 2nd hand from a guy. It will reboot randomly, be it while running an app or just sitting still on the table. Even while recharging. I have tried everything from formatting my memory card to running on minimal apps added into my bb. I have also upgraded and downgraded the OS frm v4.5.0.124(which it came with) to .81 to .182.I haven't tried using a new battery, maybe that will help? or is it a hardware prob, which would cost alot to repair.=( Please help? I really like my new curve 8320 other than the fact that it reboots randomly frequently. help!
My wife has just started using a Curve 8520 and has had it for less than 1 month. In the past few days, they phone has started unlocking itself randomly. She's using the 'A' button to lock the keypad at which point the screen goes off (as I believe it should) and then after a minute or so, it unlocks itself and the screen comes back on.
I've recently just had to change handsets to the Curve 8520 model; mine is approximately 1 year old and previously used as a pay as you go phone but my SIM card is on contract. However, whenever I make or receive calls my voice will randomly cut out to the recipient for a few seconds and then return to normal but will reoccur shortly after even though I have full signal.
So I've had my blackberry curve 8520 and my SD memory card for almost 2 years, but earlier I tried to play some music from my memory card but it wouldn't play, so I took my battery out to reset my phone and when I put it back in and my phone came back on it said my memory card needed formatting but I didn't want to lose all my stuff so I chose not to format it, but everything was deleted anyway. I went to options and chose memory and it said "Media card cannot be read. Verify that the memory card is properly inserted, formatted and not corrupted." So I tried to format it and it said it was successful but after it said that it kept asking me over and over again to format it, so I tried the repair option but it said "repair failed".
