My blackberry 9700 bold is acting strange, when i'm trying to start it - the blackberry icon and the 0-------100% loading 'list' shows, but its only load to like 10% and then it restarts its self and does the process all over.I've tryed to charge the battery, no luck.i've tryed to "update" through bb desktop software with and without battery, but no luck.I will try to buy a new battery this week
I've had my BB 9700 for just over a month now, without having any issues whatsoever with the handset, and recently my 9700 refuses to connect to my wireless network at home, it finds the network, acquires an IP address, and connection speed even displays the signal strength, but looking at the Wi-Fi diagnostics on the BB there seems to be a problem with the Infrastructure, it attempts to connect and continuously fails.
I have tried restarting the BB, and the router, this doesn't seem to solve the problem though.
Has anyone else had or heard of this issue before? And are there any solutions?
I am on T-Mobile and the BB is not unlocked or anything of that nature.
I have a BOLD 9700 my trackpad refuses to work. I have tried rebooting, pressing the trackpad 5 times which all worked before but now its completely dead. How to remedy this or how to use my BB without the trackpad...
I changed the battery on my Z2, to which I knew was better, after that it doesn´t starts only flash red 3 times when I press the on button, put in the second battery that sat in the beginning the same phenomenon flashes 3 times refuses to start, the worked without problems before I changed battery.
Upon buying the Nokia E6-00, I was told that I was able to use a app on the phone to connect with my social networking sites such as Facebook. After taking the phone home and learning how to use it, I decided on connecting my social networking sites to my mobile. Unfortunately, when opening the the app (using the path Menu > Applications > Social) it began to load and then suddenly, the app shut down back to the Applications screen. I then restarted my phone and had the same problem no matter how many time I tried to access it. I have also searched for software updates and completed the update that appeared on the 28th August 2011 and this did not fix my problem.how to fix this as I am unable to find something to resolve this problem on other websites and in the other forums on the Nokia site.
Tried to play with the Gmail/Contact Lists (see other post), and the bottom line now - something is not right, every other icon in the Home folder is named Browser...I can't stand it. I want to start from scratch. I know how to do a Security Wipe, but that's not what I need. I want to do a computer-style format and get to a like-new status as if I just took the device out of the box. Obviously I can download the newest OS and install, but how do I get all the AT&T specific software/icons?
Model info and OS version: Blackberry 9700 smartphone (3G,Wi-Fi) 6.0 Bundle 1965 v6.0.0.461,Platfrom 6.6.0.137)Apps: Only what comes as default as reset phoneFree space: Memory card = 1.7GB, Device memory = 27.2MBDid a battery pull fix your issue?: No I'm having a problem with my camera on my phone. The error message is 'Could not start the camera. Close other applications and try opening the camera again.'I've tried to do some research on this problem and all I've found relates to not having enough free space or the camera lense becoming loose. I've checked my free space and I think I have enough and I've tried pressing on my camera lense with no suceess. There are definitely no applications running. I've tried restoring my phone to old backups and then updating but still no luck.
"Could not start camera please close other applications & try opening the camera again"
I keep getting this message whenever i launch my camera. Initially when i bought the Bold 9700 i did not have a problem but after a month or two it started & since then i tried everything but couldnt get it working. Now i have upgraded the software to 5.0.0.536 & it still gives same error......plz help out i am at my wits end....
I tried searching similar topics but could not find relevant ones. everyone seems to have no issue with swapping out sim cards on their bolds. If there is a thread already open, i do apologize. I'm really frustrated and really need my blackberry to be up and running.
I have a Bold 9700, updated to the latest OS, everything works fine. I recently had some issues with my old sim card so I went to my service provider to change it to a new one (same number, same line, same contract, just a new sim card).
As is expected I was told that when my old sim is deactivated, simply insert my new one and I can use my phone as per normal.
However, when I did this, the phone was stuck at the loading screen (the entire bar is white) for eternity (maybe 5 minutes or so) before proceeding to the homescreen. There is no "verifying security" load bar, the phone is entirely frozen, no buttons work, the touch pad does not work, it shows 3G on the top right without the blackberry sign, there is no service provider name, and once in a while the small clock loading logo appears.
I pulled the battery a couple of times and the problem persists. I called the service provider to reactivate the new sim card, they did it 3 times, same problem. I inserted the sim card into other non-blackberry phones i have and it works on all other phones. When I put back my old deactivated sim card into the 9700, the phone starts up fine within 2 - 3 minutes, "verifying security" bar as per normal, everything moves, just no service connection. When i turn on the phone without a sim card it starts up fine as well with a message at the top saying insert sim card.
I even went down to the blackberry technical service department of my service provider and they were of no help. all they could say was "we have to wipe your phone and reload the software" which I am trying to avoid and I can do myself anyways.
My phone is unlocked, comes unlocked here in singapore, I even checked using the "MEPD" method, all disabled.
This has been very frustrating, especially when I need my blackberry for work. What is wrong with my phone? How can the simple replacement of a sim card be so difficult on a blackberry when it is problem free for ANY other phone I have ever used? I am now dreading when I have to travel abroad for business and require a foreign sim card.
i updated to the new os and when i try to start my camera it says unable to start camera try closing other applications and try again i downgraded and then the same thing so i wiped it and then updated it again and the same thing happens dunno think its busted anybody have a idea what it is i even deleted all applications i downloaded and no dice.
Just bought a new Bold 9700. I've run every kind of update possible. BlackBerry Maps IS loaded (v5.0.0). The operating system is the latest. I can see BlackBerry Maps in the add-on applications, yet there's no icon to start the application. The vendor is utterly useless when it comes to helping resolve the issue. The GPS seems to work and gives the correct location data, yet I can't find a means to start the BlackBerry Maps application.
I use a blackberry 9700. Recently, I tried opening my camera but it always says "Camera could not start. Close other applications and try opening again." I've closed all running applications in my phone but the Camera still won't start....
I have an N97 on Vodafone in the UK. I upgraded the firmware to version 2.0 and now want to upgrade to ver 2.1..The update seems to work OK, but when the phone is rebooted, even after a hard reset, it still shows version 2.0..Also it will not allow any additional application such as Ovi mpas or google maps to install.
I use my 9700 as my IP modem on T-Mobile and have been for a few months. Lately my download speeds seem to have been slowing. Is there anything that I can do, either to my laptop or my BB to speed things up? Eve Radio has begun to stop/start.
It has been a week now, and my Bold 9780 switches off as soon as I turn it back on. It started as a problem with my keypad and trackpad which stopped working. Slowly, my phone gave in and switched off.For the past 5 days, I took out the battery and packed my phone and the battery separately in a zip pouch to avoid any chances of moisture intervention. My phone worked properly for one full day yesterday and now its irritating again.
I got a new BB 9700 Bold yesterday and having problems with setting up the sync for the calendar and the contacts which are on my outlook. My hotmail email accounts are working okay. The outlook is on my PC and is the front face for my hotmail accounts.
When I go in to the BB Desktop device manager - version 5.0.1 (latest version) , I go in to the configure option on the left and it lets me click on calendar> then I select outlook and it then lets me select 'finish'. However at this stage an error box flashes up saying 'no available message stores'. In addition when I check the wifi config on the calendar and contacts icons on the BB device it will not let me select yes on the wireless connection for them.
I have a BB Bold 2 (9700). The Media Card slot wont lock down the card and keeps springing it out. If i keep the card pressed down it works but wont lock down.
I have Outlook 2007 on my desktop computer and use BT as a service provider and for my email, my Blackberry supplier is Vodafone and I use BIS.I have noticed that if my Blackberry receives an email first I don't get the same email delivered to my desktop. If my desktop gets an email first then the same email will be delivered to my Blackberry. I was happily deleting emails from my Blackberry thinking I would have them all on my desktop but I now find I have to check what emails I have on each before I delete anything. Is this an issue that anyone has come acrosss before and how do I resolve it apart from synching the Blackberry and desktop?I'm often away from the desktop which is why I bought the Blackberry in the first place.
I've owned my 9700 for nearly 2 months now and I'm still not used to the keyboard. I prefer my 8310's spaced out keys. has anybody replaced the 9700 keyboard with the Atlas keyboard?
I have a problem with my Blackberry and would be grateful if anyone knows what the problem is.I have only my Blackberry 9700 bold for 1 month or so.I am unable to lock my keypad by using the lock key on top of the phone. This has happened before but after charging my phone it started to work again. I have turned my phone on and off, tried charging it and the button still doesn't work. Although the keypad will lock when I put it into the leather case.Do you think it is a problem with my blackberry and I should return it? Or is this a problem people have had before and if so, how do I fix it?
My Bold is stuck on the boot screen (at about 75%). I've tried many battery pulls with and without the SIM and it keeps doing the same thing. I've searched what I think are all the threads on here relating to this, but I'm still stuck. I'm able to connect to the device if I run Loader.exe like a user suggested, but I don't know how/where to get software to load onto the device. All the places I've searched for an OS says I need to go into the device to find information about it. Well, I can't get into the device to do that. So, how do I know what OS to download and install? I really want to exhaust all possibilities before I have to completely wipe the device because I don't have a current backup. But, even if I wipe the device, I'm going to need to download an OS which I can't do now.
First two locked up constantly and rebooted. All I did was:
Set up Yahoo Mail Download Google Maps, Point, Movies Download One Theme - 18 Icon BlackBerry 9700 Sync with Yahoo Contacts Sync with Lotus Notes Calendar Only. Back Up WiFi connection to home router Bluetooth headset
I have recently purchased this 9700 (3 weeks ago) and am generally very pleased with the device. BUT If I leave the BB 9700 connected overnight to the computers USB Port for charging, and, obviously, after a few hours the computer will go to sleep, thus turning off the power to the USB port In the morning I find that the BB is: Off and will not turn on, unless it is power reset. In other words I have to open up the back and pull the battery for a second then after It is put back in the red light will display nevertheless it will turn on and be fine once it boots back up. There are no other indications or problems. I notice that other people have similar complaints with their BB's.
The other day I walked into a Walmart that had a display of cell phones. There was the 9700 there. I have the 9000. I was really looking forward to upgrading to the 9700, but now I don't know. It's LIKE REALLY small. I love the size of my 9000, and I'm afraid I'm going to have times typing on the 9700 keyboard now.
I have no idea what's going on with my camera, when I open it, it keeps showing me a black screen and keep loading.
but my problem isn't like the others, cos it didn't show me message like, "Could not start the camera. Close other applications and try opening camera again".
