It has been a week now, and my Bold 9780 switches off as soon as I turn it back on. It started as a problem with my keypad and trackpad which stopped working. Slowly, my phone gave in and switched off.For the past 5 days, I took out the battery and packed my phone and the battery separately in a zip pouch to avoid any chances of moisture intervention. My phone worked properly for one full day yesterday and now its irritating again.
View 1 Repliesi cant turn on my 9780, had a black screen and basically was off..only red LED flashes. tried a few tips from this forum but it doesnt work..1. pulled off and reinserting the batt, 2. connect to pc but failed to detect the device,it says "windows unable to installed the driver"..then i tried to connect with desktop manager to update os, but error occurs when it try to connect with the device.3. then i decided to uninstalled bb desktop manager, after restart, i connect the usb again, the windows detected the hardware n successfully installed the driver..but i didnt reinstall the desktop manager yet. im afraid if i did a wrong step which might accidently loose all the media data..is it my os probs or i need to replace the batt?

View 1 Replies View RelatedUpdated a 9780 from 5.0 to 6.0 and now phone won't turn on. Red light comes on and keypad lights up but no screen.Did a search and checked the uploader file. There was not any files left to load. Removing and reinstalling battery does not help. Tried reloading 6.0 and still nothing.Desktop software recognizes phone and has all data from phone.

I decided to leave it alone for a bit, and to just let it charge.However, when I came back, my phone was off completely, and wouldn't turn on. I unplugged it and pulled out the battery and put it back in, but there was no red light or reboot.Now it's refusing to turn on completely.

I tried charging it overnight and still nothing, I have also tried another fully charged battery and that won't work. My Desktop manager software doesn't detect it. Just before it died I had actually transferred all of the data onto a new blackberry and the software said I could now wipe my device but I didn't bother yet.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have updated my software yesteerday as instructed through Blackberry,howvere now it wont turn on. It turns on so that the blackberry logo shows up with the loading bar loading underneath then about 3/4 of the way through it blanks the screen and starts again.
I have tried taking the battery out when it is running, I have also tried leaving the battery out and it still isnt working.
I have just recieved a replacement and successfully completed all necessary transfers except for one thing. I cannot synchronise Outlook calendar or tasks properly. I am asked to go to the device, go to options, and turn off wireless snc. Problem is, there the options menu does not have a box for wireless sync.

I've been trying to work on my mothers old Curve Gemini ... She has no use for it so i decided I'd take charge of it. I was wondering , if the battery was dead or something because it wouldn't turn on , it showed a charging symbol when i put it on charge in the car ( then my only charger for that type of phone ) it charged for a good while so i took it off and it died.... After a got a wall charger i had it on for two days straight and when i take it off it dies... I got a new battery (35 bucks us here ) and put it in , the same thing even with charging
View 1 Replies View RelatedBefore the problem happened, i left my phone on in standby mode.I discovered after the problem happened, the phone was permanently shutdown, nothing i did (trying all the keys, taking battery out etc) could turn it on again.When I charged it, it still refused to turn on.The only thing that happened when it was under the charger was that the top left key and 'main' middle button in the directional keypad light up in red. The other non numerical keys light up to varying degrees of brightness, but the top left and middle key are the brightest for some reason.Could someone kindly advise, I would like to have my functioning phone back.

I upgraded the firmware to version 2.0 and now want to upgrade to ver 2.1..The update seems to work OK, but when the phone is rebooted, even after a hard reset, it still shows version 2.0..Also it will not allow any additional application such as Ovi mpas or google maps to install.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've had my BB 9700 for just over a month now, without having any issues whatsoever with the handset, and recently my 9700 refuses to connect to my wireless network at home, it finds the network, acquires an IP address, and connection speed even displays the signal strength, but looking at the Wi-Fi diagnostics on the BB there seems to be a problem with the Infrastructure, it attempts to connect and continuously fails.
I have tried restarting the BB, and the router, this doesn't seem to solve the problem though.
Has anyone else had or heard of this issue before? And are there any solutions?
I am on T-Mobile and the BB is not unlocked or anything of that nature.

Have tried to update the software (t mobile said this might help) but message says that my administrator will not allow this.
I just got myself a bold 9780. But now after restarting it for the first time, it shows a white screen with "App Error 603" and "Reset" on it. I alreadey tried the suggestions at the Torch board. My phone would not charge, so I gave it in for repair and was given a brand new phone in return.However, now my phone, it just won't connect to wi-fi.The message 'failed to authenticate against network' just keeps coming up.I've deleted it from my saved networks, and tried again. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a BB Bold 9780 with an older version of software on it (cannot confirm as device is white screened with error messages on it).The device was showing Error 561, so I attempted a software update to fix fault.The device has completed the install but cannot connect to the device to reboot - have retried 3 times and waited the half an hour each time only to get an error message on PC.More than one PC tried, still showing fault.Error 507 on the support pages suggests the device does not have OS on it, is there anyway to reload this without Desktop Manager?
