I have a BOLD 9700 my trackpad refuses to work. I have tried rebooting, pressing the trackpad 5 times which all worked before but now its completely dead. How to remedy this or how to use my BB without the trackpad...
View 1 RepliesI have a Blackberry Bold 9700. It was purchased at Rogers, but it is currently under Koodo's service.The file free on my phone is 86,607,023 Bytes. The applications installed shown is only "FREE Earth Floats Animated Theme" from Mobstar Media Ltd. I'm not entirely sure what BT device model/version means, but if it's Bluetooth, I've never used that (and it is currently disabled according to my phone); however the previous owner may have used it with Rogers.
Now for the question:
Earlier today I dropped my BlackBerry on the floor and when I picked it up, I sent a text. Soon afterwards, my phone would not respond to pressing in (clicking) the trackpad. My phone still allowed me to scroll upwards, downwards, and to either side; the only thing it would not rspond to is pressing the trackpad.I had an epiphany in which I realized that I could simply hit the enter key to do anything (so far) that clicking in my trackpad will do; however, I still would like to be able to press in my trackpad to select options and such.
I read up some articles and they all said to either:1. Remove the battery for a period of time, or remove the battery/memory card/sim card for a period of time. 2. Press the button in 'hard' and this will 'free it up'.I did both of these, but had no luck.
One thing that I thought might help is reinstalling the operating system, but I can't find my cord. I called a friend and he said I could borrow his cord tomorrow, but since no one had suggested this as a potential solution, I didn't want to unecessarily hold off posting about my problem.
I have had my 9900 for a couple months now and just a couple of days ago it started freezing up, I had to remove the battery every time it would freeze. So one day it froze took out the battery put it back in and never turned on. No lights nothing I even tired a new battery completely dead. So I was told my motherboard could be gone and said to return it to rim because of the one year warranty.

I couldnt do anything, waited about 5 minuites and still frozen so i did a battery pull.When i popped the battery back in....nothing. No red led what so ever.|Ive tried charging on the wall and the usb on the computer (computer doesnt pick up the device)Ive removed the sim card and put it back.Tried fiddling with the little round battery in the back compartment as i had seen in another post.Plugged the phone into the wall with out the battery....and still absolutly no sign of life
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy blackberry 9700 bold is acting strange, when i'm trying to start it - the blackberry icon and the 0-------100% loading 'list' shows, but its only load to like 10% and then it restarts its self and does the process all over.I've tryed to charge the battery, no luck.i've tryed to "update" through bb desktop software with and without battery, but no luck.I will try to buy a new battery this week
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've had my BB 9700 for just over a month now, without having any issues whatsoever with the handset, and recently my 9700 refuses to connect to my wireless network at home, it finds the network, acquires an IP address, and connection speed even displays the signal strength, but looking at the Wi-Fi diagnostics on the BB there seems to be a problem with the Infrastructure, it attempts to connect and continuously fails.
I have tried restarting the BB, and the router, this doesn't seem to solve the problem though.
Has anyone else had or heard of this issue before? And are there any solutions?
I am on T-Mobile and the BB is not unlocked or anything of that nature.
Does your trackpad move down when you press the bottom of the trackpad? Once it's a bit downwards, I touch the top of the trackpad and it moves back in place.
View 5 Replies View RelatedJust wondering why rim decided not to add any illumination to their trackpads?Is there a reason for this? I just got the 9700 the other day.. and I only noticed this when I was in a dark area last night and everything was lit up nicely but a dark spot in the middle.
Does anyone know if this is how all the future models will be like or do you think there will be added light to future models?only criticism i have about the phone... other then that its amazing

This has happened a couple times, and I have to completely restore the device, but this time nothing works. The keypad works fine, but the trackpad doesn't work at all, and thus I can't access anything but the phone. I have updated all the software.

One day I noticed that the cursor would move as I am typing a message. I was like wtf but I ignored it... then it kept happening and I noticed that this only happened when I was outside and had my phone out...
I tried using my phone under my desk lamp and there's nothing wrong it. It's something about the sunlight when I'm using my phone that makes the trackpad move in different directions.
I've had my Black Berry Bold 9700 for a little over a month. During the first couple weeks, I didn't notice that my track pad didn't click. When I realized this I just ignored it because it didn't seem like such a big deal. Well fast forward a couple weeks to today, my phone's track pad has been double clicking with one press. Not only that the clicks have been getting worse and worse. Sometimes I don't have to press anything and it will click automatically. Within the past couple hours of this, it has gotten so bad my phone sent 13 of the same picture under 10 seconds. I took the initiative and took it a part to see whats going on, but nothing I noticed was the cause. Upon reassembling it, and starting it back up the problem is still there, and still getting worse. Ive had my phone for over a month so the warranty has expired. I also don't have insurance to replace the entire phone.

View 7 Replies View RelatedThe trackpad on my Blackberry Bold 9700 works intermittently. I've:
- Updated the software OS 6.
- Done a hard reset.
- Done multiple soft resets.
I also tried cleaning the trackpad with paper (read somewhere that it's the oils on fingers that causes the problem).
i've done the reboot by removing the battery, restored it and got a new trackpad that work for about and hour and its still playing up!

I downgraded the software version back to 5. something and it works fine. have tried rebooting the device,taking out the battery, re installing 6.0 and nothing seems to work.

It does have tactile feedback, and you can feel the button depress, but on the phone, nothing happens.I've tried everything (hard resets, soft resets, battery pulls, etc) but it still doesn't work.I was starting to get used to just hitting the Enter button on the keyboard until my girl turned of the 'Mobile Networks' in the radio menu somewhere. When you're trying to turn it back on using the enter key, all it does is go to the next selection. Yet when the back light goes out and I press a button. The screen lights back up, but I still cant use any buttons. View 3 Replies View RelatedSuddenly, today, while checking email, the screen on the device when completely white (there was absolutely nothing on ther screen - I've read that the WSOD often has a symbol or something on the screen, this was strictly white)So, I pulled the battery from the device for a couple of minutes. Upon replacing the battery into the phone, the LED lights up for a couple of minutes and then the screen proceeds with the typical reboot screen... the "blackberry" with the loading bar. Once the bar is full and loaded, the screen goes black and the LED turns off. From here, the device is completely unresponsive.

When i go to option -> status -> type test and do the screen test, it does not toggle after red. The red screen is the only one I can see. Is there any other dead pixel checker out there.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a program on my Blackberry that I use for work, Salesforce.Com Mobile. I uninstalled the program and then allowed the 9700 to reboot. When I go to download Salesforce.com Mobile again, the software doesn't prompt me for my username or password and just hangs. It's almost as if remnants of the original install were on the phone somewhere and it kept my data.I searched my micro sd card, but didn't see anything there.
