I have had my 9900 for a couple months now and just a couple of days ago it started freezing up, I had to remove the battery every time it would freeze. So one day it froze took out the battery put it back in and never turned on. No lights nothing I even tired a new battery completely dead. So I was told my motherboard could be gone and said to return it to rim because of the one year warranty.

I then placed it on my table only to return to find it dead. I have tried everything from connecting the phone to 4 different computers, with and without the battery, I have also used about 3 or 4 other batteries and it still wont come on or show any sign of life. The worst part is whilst researching the issue online, I noticed other people mention a light or a sign comes up but with mine there has been no light, no sign, just DEAD! I tried the App Loader method but no PC recognises the phone when connected. The phone was never dropped or wet or ever misplaced or mishandle. I have had it for just over a year and this is puzzling.

No amount of battery pulls would fix the problem. Upon researching for a solution I discovered that this issue is actually a very common problem with the 9900. At this rate, I don't really care about recovering my phone as it seems that the model is entirely unreliable anyway. Just want to know if anybody with this issue has been successful in retrieving files stored on their device. I recorded some important videos a few days back, and stupidly saved it directly onto the device instead of the memory card. Desktop manager doesn't recognize the phone with or without the battery inserted.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was having some issues with my 9900, mainly the touch screen wasn't working. Since I couldn't really use the phone, I left if for a week and know it will not charge.. The phone's red light will not turn on when plugging in and another battery did not work. When you plug it in, the battery charging indicator in the middle of the screen will comeoup showing charging, but after 2 mins the icon disappears and the screen goes black. I have also tried connecting it withhout the battery to the desk top manager to update the software, but it says it cannot connect to device .
View 1 Replies View RelatedI don't know why, but I just can't clear the Event Log completely. I am always left with two logs that can't be cleared. The two logs says, Error and Severe Error. It's hasn't affect the phone, but it's pretty disturbing with two logs unable to clear. I had tried Battery Pull, resets and it still can't be deleted. My Phone is the Bold 9900. Carrier is Singtel. OS vers 7.1.0.

Condition before the incident: perfect.
I always took a full care of my belongings (especially the electronics). This phone was only used by me. I never over charged it and always update it. I also never overloaded it with softwares.Today the phone just refused to turn on (no lights, vibration, nothing at all). Even when I tried charging it, the battery never gave a sign of the charging process.
I have used my phone around 3 AM, at that time I remember the phone having between 25 to 20 % of battery life, and was working fine. I went to bed and woke up around 7:30 AM, that is when I found the phone off. I then tried charging it normally because I never thought that it will never turn back on, I assumed that it ran out of battery and that it needed charging. I tried every method of recharge I was able to perform (of the wall, changed the charger, off a USB cord connected to my laptop, etc).
I luckily had a recent back up, because I updated the software then. Yet, I think its ridiculous because I have paid a lot to get this phone (I actually purchased two of them and now I am nervous that the other one will have the same fate).For now, I am using my an older phone (bold 9780) and contacted T-Mobile USA and see if they can help me, and unfortunately they did not have any clue as they claim, about this dilemma. Meanwhile, I found many people owning bold 9900 and 9930 models complaining from the same problem that I have encountered.
My BB suddenly died - just blinking red. I've tried everything, installing new OS, installing without battery, all the ways - Error reconnecting.

When I try and close the web browser, it doesn't seem to close completely.I press in the BB button (next to call on the keypad), scroll down and hit close. However when I hold in this BB button to see open apps, the browser icon is still there.Is this normal? Does the browser app always have to run in the background?

I was using my I phone 4 and it went completely dead, couldnt turn on or off completely black screen, lost the call. Hooked it back up to itunes when i got to work and obviously does not show up in itunes. This happened once before and it just rectified itself. But nothing is happening.

I tried to restore my phone while it was at 1%, and it just completely died. I haven't been able to charge it since 7:30pm, and now it's 3am, and it still hasn't come back on. so what happened was, I got my phone in the mail, I use it for a few hours with occasional texting and my friend calls me, and when I answer, the phone dies. I turn the phone on again to see the battery is dead and it dies again, and before it had 85% battery life left apparently. Now the phone is completely dead, when the charger is plugged in, the red light is on and solid (not flashing or anything), when it is plugged in the computer it is on and solid again, except the computer doesn't see its plugged in.

View 9 Replies View Related The main problem is that my Nexus 5 (which is over a year old now) has been turning itself off and on for a couple of weeks now. At first it didn't bother me too much, because I could usually turn it on easily again. However the last few days this happened more frequent and today it just won't turn on again. I dropped it once and the screen broke. Had it replaced, but when I got it back the chip overheated really fast and the phone rebooted, resulting in an error message. I went back to the store and they replaced the motherboard, free of charge. they probably broke it when they replaced the screen. After 6 months or so, my screen broke again, due to work related circumstances (a machine malfunctioned and the phone actually saved my skin...). Had it replaced again and no further problems occurred, until now. The chip doesn't overheat, btw.Ok, so now a list of things I have tried and things that are noticeable, to spare you guys the comments
- The phone turns off randomly, both fully charged and when the battery is almost drained.
- The chip doesn't get hot, just normal when playing, for instance, a game with heavy graphics.
- I'm not using any particular app when it turns off, it is really random
- It turns off more frequent when I have the phone in the pocket of my trousers then anywhere else...his could however just be random.
- When the phone works again and shows me the main menu, there is NO error message stating that the phone has recovered from an unexpected shutdown. This did happen when the motherboard was broken.
- I tried every possible button-combo there is (power+vol up/down - hold power for +30 seconds - rapidly press power until my finger bleeds).
Last but not least...
- I have the strong feeling it is a connection problem somewhere...Before today, when it shut off and the power button didn't turn it on again, I tapped the phone on the back, roughly where the hardware is located and it turned the phone on.
Today I opened the phone for the first time, but haven't gone any further than that. I might remove the battery and have a look at it, blow on it for luck and stuff, and see if there's any connection problem....Other than that...I don't know.
It happens quite often when I call, the receiver can hear me but I can't hear him/her and also sometimes the other way around(!). When I recall ..., most of the time the problem is over. Normally when I plug in the headset, it doesn't work at all ... whatever I try! With plugged in headset the iPhone keeps operating via the built in speakers and I can switch between handsfree and normal (the headset remains completely dead). Only after a complete restore the headset works one or two phone calls and then fails permanent. The connector is clean and can be completely plugged in.

I can not get it to silde to unlock or what so ever. I've tried take out the battery to turn it off and switch it back on. I've also tired to connect it with my computer with the sony software to repair it. But none of those work. The touch screen seems to respond once after i touch it thirty or forthy times. View 8 Replies View RelatedWhen I went to sleep last night, my phone was working fine. It was on my bed and charging. When I woke up this morning, it was still plugged in but completely dead.
It won't turn on, it doesn't have the red light when charging, nothing. I tried a different charger, tried the force restart, even tried the little yellow button and still nothing.
The only thing I can imagine is that it severely overheated and blew the engine. Nothing else makes sense. Is there anything else I can do beyond replacing it?
