I couldnt do anything, waited about 5 minuites and still frozen so i did a battery pull. When i popped the battery back in....nothing. No red led what so ever.|Ive tried charging on the wall and the usb on the computer (computer doesnt pick up the device)Ive removed the sim card and put it back.Tried fiddling with the little round battery in the back compartment as i had seen in another post.Plugged the phone into the wall with out the battery....and still absolutly no sign of life

I just received a used blackberry bold 9000. I still have not been able to turn it on, it is black with a blinking led light (which only shows when plugged in to either the wall charger or USB). It blinks once (red) and then three times very quickly. I can not wipe the hardware because my computer does not recognize the device. Is there anyway to fix this? I do not want to return it if I can easily fix it.

I have had my 9900 for a couple months now and just a couple of days ago it started freezing up, I had to remove the battery every time it would freeze. So one day it froze took out the battery put it back in and never turned on. No lights nothing I even tired a new battery completely dead. So I was told my motherboard could be gone and said to return it to rim because of the one year warranty.

When I go to school, I put the sound on "OFF." I move sometimes and I accidentally press the volume button, and sometimes it plays music from my music player on my BB Bold. I'm scared the volume will go too high and the teacher will hear, she/he'll take my phone, of course. Is there anyway to fix this? I do put my music volume all the way down before I get to class, but sometimes it just goes back up a little bit by random button pressing. I do lock my phone, also, but I never turn it off, and I don't want to. So, is there any other way to keep me safe in classes?

Background:Bought a bold 9000 the day it was released in Canada. Worked perfectly, maybe dropped it a few times but everything was working. Recently I upgraded to the 9700 and sent my brother my 9000.He had it for a week with Telus (originally on Rogers, and unlocked). He then dropped it off his bed onto a hardwood floor (not very high). Since then it would not turn on, no red LED or anything.I went over all the common steps to getting it working:
-Battery pull
-Take out Sim Card, and battery
-Try connecting to wall charger or pc with and without battery
-Basically everything listed in other posts with the same problem
So the above steps (search for details on them) work for some people, and not for others. So it was dead, he mailed it back to me to try and fix. I tried all the common solutions again with no luck. Then I decided to try something else. How I fixed it:You know when your computer is screwed up, and someone suggests to reset the bios settings? All computers have a little backup battery to keep your settings, and keep the clock running on your computer. So even when it is unplugged from the wall and you turn it back on the time is right.Well the 9000 has a similar battery, I am not 100% sure what it is used for but removing it completely solved my problem. I know it is used to keep the time when the main battery is removed - what else i'm not sure.. Mine seems to work fine with it removed. It does not reset any other data it seems, all contacts, email themes and everything are still intact.Once this battery was removed, I put the battery back in and everything works perfectly now! The only issue I have noticed is that the time does not advance once the battery is removed.. Since my brother always has his phone on, and it updates the time from the network there is no big problem with this. -Again, the time works perfectly as long as the main battery is in.Here are the steps, you don't even need to dissassemble the blackberry:
1 - Remove the black plastic sticker on the back
2 - using a small screwdriver (or better yet, soldering iron) remove the small circular battery from the PCB.
3 - put battery back in and pray
The picture of my bold with the battery removed is here: bold_9000 on Flickr - Photo Sharing! Disclaimer: This worked on my phone, but your phone may have a different problem. I suggest this only as a LAST resort on phones that are not under warranty anymore. I will not be blamed for anyone breaking their phone (more?).

I am using BB Desktop version 5 and tried to update my device to OS 5 from AT&T. My Bold 9000 is now dead. My desktop manager stated a fatal error, then my device reset. And the only thing that displays is the Orange AT&T screen. How can I get the device to function again. I did a back up and a sync prior to the install.

When I put my bold on charge it almost instantly reboots itself. Sometimes it will be reboot itself again and again whilst still booting up. This can happens 5 or 6 times in a row. When not on charge my phone is totally fine.I have been charging my phone at night and in the morning it is usually charged up (even if it does reboot constantly) however the other morning it had not charged. It also does this when I have tried to charge over USB (connected to my iPod usb mains adaptor) so it's not the charge.I'm running 5.0.0.411.

I have Bold 9000 on O2, but since yesterday I have not been able to turn it on. When powered up via usb and PC or direct from mains, all i het is the red message light showing all the time and nothing else ..but sometimes it goes out and on screen is a picture of a battery with a blue zig zag flash running through it. This is a bit random, but seems to alternate between either redlight or battery outline.
Plugging Bold into PC and running blackberry desktop manager does not do anything - the desktop manager does not recognise that a device has been plugged in (hence does not show PIN).Has the battery suddenly and completely died? (There were no signs of this happening before - no performance issues etc) ... or is it something far more serious?

Yesterday I was waiting for an important call but needed a shower so I took my phone into the bathroom and put it in a dry safe place where I would hear it ring if need be. It did so I quickly jumped out of the shower, dried hands and answered a message. Few minutes later when back at my desk at home I realized the bold was behaving weird, key presses were not doing the right function, i.e. a press of the back key brought up jk or other letters on the screen etc.
It did not sustain water damage, at worst my hands were merely damp when used so I just figured pop it down for a while and let it 'dry' (it wasn't wet but you know what I mean, its all I could think of) picked it up maybe 15 minutes later and it appeared to have died. Now, its 15 months old (and was a refurbished handset direct from 02 when I got it so its had a hard life) its been bumped, and not long after I got it I broke the screen (LCD bleed) so I had it repaired which forfeited the warranty, also the trackball has been a constant nightmare to me, it stops working in one or more direction regularly.
I've found the solution to this to be to clean the trackball gently with a q-tip dipped in clear alcohol, after some time this usually works, but a couple of months ago I could not get this to work at all so after 2 weeks of a phone that would not scroll left I had the trackball replaced. I now had issues with the trackball not selecting when I push down but this is got around by using the return key or it does sometimes work if you push hard. So, with this new flashing red light failure I took it back to the place that replaced the screen. They kept it for 24 hours and when I went back to collect it they said it was a component failure and beyond economic repair.
Quite truthfully though I got the impression that they actually just couldn't be bothered as it was a hard job. Came home and started researching, other posts I have read lead me to believe that if the LED comes on in any way all is not lost. My computer does not recognize the phone when I try and connect it via USB, although just now I tried again and windows acknowledged that a device had just been plugged in, but the blackberry software still did not detect anything. What can I try now? I am not tech savvy so it will need to be clearly laid out for idiots.

I've bought a unbranded Bold 9000 (made in Canada) a couple of days ago and after setting up everything okay (.822 OS included) and using WiFi nicely I suddenly got the wifi connection dead error
I've tried:
- reading every thread about it
- several 5 min+ battery pulls
- reinstalling the OS
- delete apps
and no solution so far. Is there any way to fix this without sending it back to warranty?? (I bought it online at a HK shop) I think I'm about to cry now

I have read the helpful advice posted on this subject. But it does not help. I have a Bold 9000 and accidently I let it run completely and utterly dead. Now whatever I do, I cannot start it. I have plugged it into a charger, I bought a car lead because I have found that this gives a boost, and I have bought a new battery.
Whatever I do, it does not work. Unlike previous writers, when I plug it into any of the charging sources I do not even get a red light, absolutely nothing. When I attach it to the computer nothing is recognised. I am sure that it has not been physically damaged, it has merely run absolutely flat.I am stuck in a holiday destination. Can anyone advise me?

My battery goes completely dead but ONLY after i switch it off for the night. It seems to drain away but is perfectly OK during the day. I bought a new (Blackberry) battery and it does the same thing. Is there ac software fix for this or is my phone (bought from a reputable used hone store) just useless?I was also told that the little dot just inside the phone by the charger is supposed o be gold in colour and of it has turned blue then it means that the phone has water damage?

I tried to restore my phone while it was at 1%, and it just completely died. I haven't been able to charge it since 7:30pm, and now it's 3am, and it still hasn't come back on. It's plugged into the charger and it just comes up with the battery charging symbol thing? I don't know how to explain it, but I'm guessing my phone is completely dead now.

Purchased 4 months ago
Condition before the incident: perfect.
I always took a full care of my belongings (especially the electronics). This phone was only used by me. I never over charged it and always update it. I also never overloaded it with softwares.Today the phone just refused to turn on (no lights, vibration, nothing at all). Even when I tried charging it, the battery never gave a sign of the charging process.
I have used my phone around 3 AM, at that time I remember the phone having between 25 to 20 % of battery life, and was working fine. I went to bed and woke up around 7:30 AM, that is when I found the phone off. I then tried charging it normally because I never thought that it will never turn back on, I assumed that it ran out of battery and that it needed charging. I tried every method of recharge I was able to perform (of the wall, changed the charger, off a USB cord connected to my laptop, etc).
I luckily had a recent back up, because I updated the software then. Yet, I think its ridiculous because I have paid a lot to get this phone (I actually purchased two of them and now I am nervous that the other one will have the same fate). For now, I am using my an older phone (bold 9780) and contacted T-Mobile USA and see if they can help me, and unfortunately they did not have any clue as they claim, about this dilemma. Meanwhile, I found many people owning bold 9900 and 9930 models complaining from the same problem that I have encountered.

so what happened was, I got my phone in the mail, I use it for a few hours with occasional texting and my friend calls me, and when I answer, the phone dies. I turn the phone on again to see the battery is dead and it dies again, and before it had 85% battery life left apparently. Now the phone is completely dead, when the charger is plugged in, the red light is on and solid (not flashing or anything), when it is plugged in the computer it is on and solid again, except the computer doesn't see its plugged in.

The main problem is that my Nexus 5 (which is over a year old now) has been turning itself off and on for a couple of weeks now. At first it didn't bother me too much, because I could usually turn it on easily again. However the last few days this happened more frequent and today it just won't turn on again. I dropped it once and the screen broke. Had it replaced, but when I got it back the chip overheated really fast and the phone rebooted, resulting in an error message. I went back to the store and they replaced the motherboard, free of charge. they probably broke it when they replaced the screen. After 6 months or so, my screen broke again, due to work related circumstances (a machine malfunctioned and the phone actually saved my skin...). Had it replaced again and no further problems occurred, until now. The chip doesn't overheat, btw.Ok, so now a list of things I have tried and things that are noticeable, to spare you guys the comments
- The phone turns off randomly, both fully charged and when the battery is almost drained.
- The chip doesn't get hot, just normal when playing, for instance, a game with heavy graphics.
- I'm not using any particular app when it turns off, it is really random
- It turns off more frequent when I have the phone in the pocket of my trousers then anywhere else...his could however just be random.
- When the phone works again and shows me the main menu, there is NO error message stating that the phone has recovered from an unexpected shutdown. This did happen when the motherboard was broken.
- I tried every possible button-combo there is (power+vol up/down - hold power for +30 seconds - rapidly press power until my finger bleeds).
Last but not least...
- I have the strong feeling it is a connection problem somewhere...Before today, when it shut off and the power button didn't turn it on again, I tapped the phone on the back, roughly where the hardware is located and it turned the phone on.
Today I opened the phone for the first time, but haven't gone any further than that. I might remove the battery and have a look at it, blow on it for luck and stuff, and see if there's any connection problem....Other than that...I don't know.

It happens quite often when I call, the receiver can hear me but I can't hear him/her and also sometimes the other way around(!). When I recall ..., most of the time the problem is over. Normally when I plug in the headset, it doesn't work at all ... whatever I try! With plugged in headset the iPhone keeps operating via the built in speakers and I can switch between handsfree and normal (the headset remains completely dead). Only after a complete restore the headset works one or two phone calls and then fails permanent. The connector is clean and can be completely plugged in.

Yesterday, my Bold 9900 battery was completely drained so I put it on charge overnight. The LED light was flashing yellow. Now I can't get the phone to turn on at all. This has happened before but after removing the battery and putting it back in the phone turned on. I've tried pulling the battery today but nothing happens, just the LED light flashing red for a few seconds then going back off
