My BB 9900 will not turn on. I've given full charge the battery with a universal charger and when I put it only on the unit lights up red for 5 seconds then turns off. 10 seconds after the light is turned on again by liz 5 seconds and turns off .... repeating!

So one day it froze took out the battery put it back in and never turned on. No lights nothing I even tired a new battery completely dead. So I was told my motherboard could be gone and said to return it to rim because of the one year warranty.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a newly purchased 9900 from Rogers, and I've done all of the software updates that desktopmngr prompts me to install..The phone will periodically bring up the "clock" as if its waiting and calculating something, or just be unresponsive. It will also occur when the phone is in keylock mode, not the "clock" but just be unresponsive.I've installed no apps, made mods, or anything.And this occurs whether the battery is full or not (the phone does get quite a bit slower when the batt is almost dead as well).Is there a new OS available? I didn't see anything on the rogers site.

(one red blink appears then one then 3 quick ones) It wont connect to the computer and its making me mad... Because of the led appearing i thought there was hope for it to work again.

View 1 Replies View Relatedi bought a bold second hand ages ago and it was working fine until one night when i came in to find my phone switched off with 4 shortish/medium flashing red lights in a sequence, hasnt been dropped or waterdamaged and i had no apps on it and the stock os as i only need it for emails and texts. i cant get it to be recognised by the computer and i know the wire isnt faulty as i borrowed my friends 7230 wire (mini usb is the same for both models) and her 7230 and her husbands 9000 is recognised with and without the battery by my pc and hers.ive tried the following:1. battery pull - 1 long red light then the continuous four medium flashes over and over, same when i plug it into a pc (no red light or battery icon at all when plugged in without a battery)2. using desktop manager - nothing happens no device detected3. using the jl_cmder - no device detected4. using apploader by itself - no device detected/ no way to get past the usb/com port screen as the 'next' button is greyed out5. using apploader through command /nojvm - no device detected/no way to get past the usb/com port screen6. quickly switching phones with my friend when her phone is recognised without a battery and a update is prompted, it sort of works by letting me choose the os but then says no device detected

Everything is functioning like I get notifications, I receive calls and bbm's but the thing is I can't check them because the screen is black. There is static as well at the top but it it is black and blurry, sometimes I could see the name of the service provider as well as the battery icon.What would work sometimes is if I do a battery pull but that is rare. Also if I lock the screen then wait a while and then press any button between the end call and receive it would come back on. But that is becoming rare as well. The system on the phone is full functional but its the screen that stays black.Sometimes if I'm lucky it would go away and I would be able to use the screen. But when that happens I would have to constantly be pressing a button to keep the phone active so it does not go on backlight setting from inactivity. U can imagine how annoying that is huh?

It connects fine and has paired with it but it seems to disconnecting every 25 seconds or so and then reconnecting 25 seconds later. Its driving me bananas cos each time it does it the radio cuts out. If i am on a call it seems to keep connection. I fell i may have missed a setting somewhere but cant find anything about this.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have the BB Bold 9650 with Sprint and have the worst service in the world. My son has the Style and also has poor service. Our phones were not receiving calls, texts or anything when we are at home. Sprint sent us an Airwave so that the signal would be improved. The calls and texts have somewhat improved but not completely rectified. More annoying than that is this noice my phone makes not like a beeping noise but like maybe a signal fade noise if that helps any. I have asked Sprint about it and they said it is the network connecting and then dropping. But I cannot be the only person in the world that has the issue. Is there anyway to stop it? I was wondering if I connected by BB to my home wi-fi if that would resolve the problem. Please help, I hate my phone and service. Our phones have been replaced at 3 times this year alone.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've had my AT&T Blackberry Bold 9700 since November of 2009 and am just experiencing this problem. My device is set so the back light goes off after 20 seconds. Whenever I put it down or lock it, the back light goes off just as it should. But, within 5-10 minutes, it turns back on without provocation and won't shut off again until I unlock and re-lock the phone.
As you can imagine, this is killing my battery life. I've tried playing with the settings, but nothing seems to do the trick. I've rebooted several times and removed the battery twice, but neither has worked. Anyone encounter this issue and/or have any suggestions on how to fix it?
On my brother's 9700, he's experienced two random shut downs. He's with Rogers and has the latest OS installed (.743). He would notice that sometimes the phone sort of shuts off by itself. Normally he would keep the phone on standby or lock, but when he'd go to unlock the phone, he'd notice that none of the keys work (screen remains black). Normally the screen would light up and say that the phone is locked, but this doesn't happen. Then, he would hold down the End key for a couple of seconds to power up the phone, only the phone doesn't boot up from scratch. Instead, the Rogers splash screen would appear and it would go directly to his home screen. The phone is only about a week old and is brand new (not refurbished). Is there some sort of lock/standby feature that I'm unaware of that his phone is going into? Has anyone else experienced this?

View 3 Replies View RelatedUsing Bold 9700 Ver # 6.0.0.461 Running updated version of Blackberry Desktop Manager 6.0.1 with Windows 7 and Outlook 2003 with SP3. Use agenda view for calendar, tried the "Show free time in Agenda View" but didn't like it so unclicked it and now, when I open my calendar; the current appts show for a couple of seconds, then it jumps to my last appts in 2014. If I check the free time box again and try to open my calendar it doesn't jump ahead. If I uncheck it again, it jumps ahead again. I've tried turning it off and taking the battery out but doesn't work. The local Telus store never heard of it before.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have the device set up for "Bedside Mode" when charging (sits in the OEM dock at night). I left the device "on" and placed in the dock. The keyboard light, screen all dim as they should and the "clock" displays on screen as well. Then after about 20 sec the keyboard buttons all turn on and the screen brightens up. A couple of sec's later they all dim back down. This process repeats itself over and over like the damn thing has a heartbeat or something! I don't recall this doing this the first two nights that I used the new dock/bedside mode.

I am having the same issue as covered in lots of threads before. when i try to turn my phone on (pluged in to the wall charger) it just shows the red led for about 10 seconds and switched to white screen with battery thunder bolt symbol in the middle for abotu 10 seconds and then it repeats over and over again. but my phone does something ive never seen talked abotu on here.
When my red led is on the phone is making this weird noise. kinda sounds like fan comin from the phone. and itll only make the noise on the second time around. any suggestion on the noise and what i can do???? i have gotten a new battery, tried the battery pull, and ive waited 2 days and tried again no luck.
My charging unit on the side of my Blackberry Pearl 9105 has gone inside my phone for the second time, I was charged £25 last time to get it fixed and i am not paying that again.
