my daughter broke her phone at the charger point i had this replaced and bought it home after being told to put it on charge as the bsttery was completely dead, this we have done but the light on the phone flashes twice stops for a couple of seconds and flashes again

i bought a bold second hand ages ago and it was working fine until one night when i came in to find my phone switched off with 4 shortish/medium flashing red lights in a sequence, hasnt been dropped or waterdamaged and i had no apps on it and the stock os as i only need it for emails and texts. i cant get it to be recognised by the computer and i know the wire isnt faulty as i borrowed my friends 7230 wire (mini usb is the same for both models) and her 7230 and her husbands 9000 is recognised with and without the battery by my pc and hers.ive tried the following:1. battery pull - 1 long red light then the continuous four medium flashes over and over, same when i plug it into a pc (no red light or battery icon at all when plugged in without a battery)2. using desktop manager - nothing happens no device detected3. using the jl_cmder - no device detected4. using apploader by itself - no device detected/ no way to get past the usb/com port screen as the 'next' button is greyed out5. using apploader through command /nojvm - no device detected/no way to get past the usb/com port screen6. quickly switching phones with my friend when her phone is recognised without a battery and a update is prompted, it sort of works by letting me choose the os but then says no device detected

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've had my Curve for just under 2 years and about a week ago it just stopped working. I was out with some friends when I happened to glance at my phone and noticed that the LED was glowing a solid white color. The LED was white for about 10 seconds then went out. After this the phone would not turn back on and the LED was a solid red color.
I figured my battery must be dead so I put it on the charger when I got home. After charging for hours I tried to turn it back on, with no luck. The LED was still solid red and would remain this way for hours. After some initial research, I decided to try and reload to OS. By this time, the LED light was flashing 4 times, pausing briefly, then flashing 4 times again, over and over.
I followed some of the guides others had posted about reloading the OS user the App Loader application. I got past the step of selecting the components I wanted to installed and clicked Next. The process started to work, but when it got to the "Intializing Phone" step it would return an error saying it could not detect the device. The whole time I was going through this process the USB connect/disconnect sounds were playing over and over again.
I continued to research and found out that the BlackBerry was actually in some kind of constant reboot cycle. That it why the USB sounds were playing repeatedly. I assume this is why the computer could not detect the device long enough to finish the installation process.
So this is basically where I am now. I got pretty frustrated with the whole scenario and left it for a few days. I picked my phone up yesterday and tried to turn it on. Initially there was no sign of life from the LED. I held the power button and the BlackBerry LED began to blink twice then pause, blink twice, pause, etc.
I would realy rather not have to pay another couple of hundred dollars for a phone but I can't go without a phone much longer. I am confident that I can get to the same error I did before, but can not get past that point.
my phone didnt work on reboot just flashing red lights. One light then three quick flashes. Also wont connect to PC (have tried two pc's).

Also the Led light keeps on flashing red continuously. Iam in South Africa and received the phone as a present which was bought from Verizon. Would appreciate if there is a solution before i send it away for repairs.

(If someone could tell me how to change the notification sound on buzzme it would be great also :]) However I used to have .593 and when I upgraded to .656, the led wont stop flashing untill I read my text FIRST, and then open my email inbox, although I have no new emails it will stop flashing. Sorry if this is kind of confusing I'm not sure how to word it.

After updating the Blackberry App World software and rebooting the device, the red light began flashing as soon as the phone turned back on even though there were no new notifications, and no updates required. I tried switching a few things on and off, but it had no affect. So I performed a battery pull and it solved the problem...until I received an email on my device, and the light would not turn off after I read the email.

The pictures were fixed but the LED light that flashes when there's an alert won't stop flashing. It flashes red several times then stops for a minute or two then flashes again. Does anyone know how to fix this so it will stop flashing? I've tried to pull the battery again and even just reset the phone but it won't stop its driving me insane!

- Turning off the option "LED Coverage Indicator"
- Under "Edit Profiles", I turned off LED for every alert
- Under "Manage Connections" I turned on and off Bluetooth (I do not have Bluetooth). I also turn of and on all connections.
- I removed the battery with the Blackberry on and then removed the battery after first shutting off the Blackberry
Is this a known problem with the 9700? Short of returning it, is there anything else I can do?
Last night while using my bb bold 9700,it just went off,came back on and then my bbm(messenger) was deleted,so i tried updating the OS which turned out to be a failure,unplugging my bb from my laptop minutes later it went off and the red light was blinking twice,charged it all night and symptoms still persist.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded to a bold through Orange (UK Network Provider), phone has been great so far, I have had it for a week. However, I made a call and came back to my phone to find a blank screen and the red light flashing/staying constant intermittently. The phone does not turn on, I have tried taking battery out, sim out, memory card out, attaching it to my computer (which it does not recognize as it needs to be on) charging it etc. I have tried that alt, cap and del reset mechanism too.
Orange told me I will have to send it off this week, but does anyone know any quick fix to turn it on? I have all my contacts on there, stupidly I did not back it up.
I've just tried to update my BBerry to v5.0 via a USB cable connected to my laptop. This was because when synching to my laptop, the device manager software indicated updates available. I've previously upgraded to v5.0 no problem.However, during the update, a very aptly named "fatal error" occurred. my Bberry is now UNUSABLE! So one day it froze took out the battery put it back in and never turned on. No lights nothing I even tired a new battery completely dead. So I was told my motherboard could be gone and said to return it to rim because of the one year warranty.

Everything is functioning like I get notifications, I receive calls and bbm's but the thing is I can't check them because the screen is black. There is static as well at the top but it it is black and blurry, sometimes I could see the name of the service provider as well as the battery icon.What would work sometimes is if I do a battery pull but that is rare. Also if I lock the screen then wait a while and then press any button between the end call and receive it would come back on. But that is becoming rare as well. The system on the phone is full functional but its the screen that stays black.Sometimes if I'm lucky it would go away and I would be able to use the screen. But when that happens I would have to constantly be pressing a button to keep the phone active so it does not go on backlight setting from inactivity. U can imagine how annoying that is huh?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI got a new BB 9700 Bold yesterday and having problems with setting up the sync for the calendar and the contacts which are on my outlook. My hotmail email accounts are working okay. The outlook is on my PC and is the front face for my hotmail accounts.
When I go in to the BB Desktop device manager - version 5.0.1 (latest version) , I go in to the configure option on the left and it lets me click on calendar> then I select outlook and it then lets me select 'finish'. However at this stage an error box flashes up saying 'no available message stores'.
In addition when I check the wifi config on the calendar and contacts icons on the BB device it will not let me select yes on the wireless connection for them.
I have a BB Bold 2 (9700). The Media Card slot wont lock down the card and keeps springing it out. If i keep the card pressed down it works but wont lock down.
