BB Bold 9700 :: LED Indicator Does Not Stop Flashing Blue
Jul 28, 2010
My 9700 is only 3 weeks old and now the LED Indicator light does not stop flashing blue.I tried...
- Turning off the option "LED Coverage Indicator"
- Under "Edit Profiles", I turned off LED for every alert
- Under "Manage Connections" I turned on and off Bluetooth (I do not have Bluetooth). I also turn of and on all connections.
- I removed the battery with the Blackberry on and then removed the battery after first shutting off the Blackberry
Is this a known problem with the 9700? Short of returning it, is there anything else I can do?
My LED indicator won't stop flashing a purpley-blue colour. I have an app which means I can change the colours, but the thing I have set to this colour is texts and I definately don't have a new text. My LED is turned off for Bluetooth and I don't know what else it could be! It's been flashing for over 12 hours now!
every 25 seconds or so there is a blue flashing from the led which lasts about 7 flashes. Now the bluetooth is disabled and the led connection indicator is also switched to off. I don't know how and why it started but I just need it off
I am having issues with my red indicator light flashing, I have no new messages,e-mails or texts. Was wondering way this keeps flashing and is there a way to turn it off.
I'm sorry I looked for a similar thread but didn't see one. I have an indicator that just popped up....on my home screen right next to my email/message indicator....it is a blue box with 4 dots and has a little red star in the top corner of the blue box (similar to new email star).
So I recieve my sms via crunchsms. But I am trying to use the notification on buzzme, so i can get a custom led color instead of the default red. (If someone could tell me how to change the notification sound on buzzme it would be great also :]) However I used to have .593 and when I upgraded to .656, the led wont stop flashing untill I read my text FIRST, and then open my email inbox, although I have no new emails it will stop flashing. Sorry if this is kind of confusing I'm not sure how to word it.
I have the new bold 9700, and I pulled the battery to reset the bb because it wasn't deleting pictures. The pictures were fixed but the LED light that flashes when there's an alert won't stop flashing. It flashes red several times then stops for a minute or two then flashes again. Does anyone know how to fix this so it will stop flashing? I've tried to pull the battery again and even just reset the phone but it won't stop its driving me insane!
Is there a way to disable the blue flashing notification light when bridged to a playbook? I clicked through all the settings I couldn't find anything. It's mildly annoying.
I just download whatsapp messenger and try it. but after receiving a message, the LED notification was flashing continuosly, even after I read the message and delete ithow, as my battery will drained if the LED is always flashing.I already set the LED notification to OFF in the setting menu, but when I received the message from whatsapp it start to flashing RED again
quick question regarding the LED coverage indicator.I currently have 2 bb's a curve 8310 and of course a bold 9700. i have set both bb's to have the LED coverage indicator on. the curve 8310 LED constantly blinks green while the 9700 only blinks while im on a call or if i am using my bbm. the BOLD always has full bars of coverage so im not sure if they changed the way the led indicator works or if there is just a problem with my 9700.
I have a BlackBerry Bold 9700. I have an unread message indicator (little yellow envelope +3) on my screen, but I don't have any unread messages in my list.
So far, I've tried the following:
1. Typed "u" to search for unread messages and it tells me that I have no unread messages.
2. I went into my email and selected "mark prior unopened" and still nothing.
3. I've tried to restart the phone the phone. When I do, I end up with even more unread messages that I have to select -- over and over again! I can always get it back down to 3, but no fewer.
4. The date and time on my phone appears to be correct.
I recently got my Blackberry Bold 9700 and I used to use crunchsms on my Blackberry Curve 8520 so I didn't mind the message indicator whenever I got an email because crunchsms had it's own message indicator. I now realize that whenever I receive a text and email it results to the same message indicator. I have done: Messages > Options > Inbox Settings and have unclicked my email account so that the message inbox remain separate. I don't understand how I have the latest OS version yet have to deal with this. Is there someone who can help? Or is there a theme that I can download that separates the sms/mms and email complete so that I may get two entire different message notifications?
Does anyone know if there's an easy means to reduce the brightness of the indicator LED on the 9700? Similar to the way it is a bit dimmer when the phone boots up initially. I've got the Color I'd app installed (free version), but it appears only to alter the color - but not the brightness of the LED.
Something happened and now every new message that comes into my gmail bb account doesn't have a red * on the icon on home screen. Its as if the message application was already opened but the message is still unread. Anyone know anything about this.
I've had my Bold 9700 for a few days now - overall very satisfied. I'm an iPhone switcher and I'm kicking myself that I didn't make the switch months ago!Nevertheless - one small issue! Whenever I get a new email message (I've set up my Gmail account on the phone) the notification icon beside the envelope doesn't appear. I'm getting the mega-small icon in the top bar, but the red asterisk isn't appearing on my larger Gmail icon (the one that appears on the bottom dock thing. What's confusing me is that it IS appearing on the 'Messages' icon. Any clues as to why this is happening there but not on y Gmail mail icon? I've looked through the settings but can't seem to find anything.
A couple days ago, my BB Curve 8520 (which I've had a little over a year) died. I thought it was just the battery, so I plugged it in and it took longer than normal (at least 4 minutes) to load the black BB screen and it stayed stuck on the carrier logo (TMobile) screen. I thought maybe it was just taking longer for some reason, so I left it and came back to it a few hours later and it was STILL on the TMobile logo screen!!! I removed the battery and noticed that the water damage indicator is now a light blue color....I have NEVER heard of that marker turning blue.....what does this mean?? I called customer technical support and they could not answer my question because they say they've never heard of it.....c'mon, I cannot be the ONLY person in the world with TMobile who happens to have the only phone with a phone behaving this way and with a blue water damage indicator!
How do u change the color of the indicator lights for alert messages. Say customized for a specific mail. The default customization only allows on or off for the led but doesn't allow color selection.
I heard that for some phones its possible to have a green led indicator come on when the phone is finished charging. I was wondering if its possible for my 9700 and if so, how can I do that.
So I sent a text to somebody and then I checked back at the message center and it has this little icon that resembles a cell phone. I was a little puzzled yet intrigued.I tried to google it and nothing came up. Also when I checked bbm on that person that I sent the text to, the icon appeared again. Its just a verticle rectangle with a white box in the top of portion of the man rectangle. Again the icon looks like a cellphone.
The battery level indicator is faulty from day one. It shows sufficient balance but suddenly I find the phone switches off. When I try to switch on the phone, I get a message"battery drained out"This has to be a software problem like in iPhone 4 and RIM must address it by bringing a software update.
I did all the relevant updates, desktop software to v6, and phone to 5.0.0.862, but since plugging the phone in, and then taking it out once it had done all the updates, everytime i turn the phone off then on, or battery pull, i recieve a new sms message indicator. However, the message that shows up isnt new at all, EVERYTIME, it is the last message recieved in just one conversation with one person, whether they sent it, or i did.its starting to get annoying as, if this is occuring what else could be.
Plus everytime i plug phone into laptop, and i then go into Blackberry messenger, all the conversations have been wiped and i dont seem to get updates from people.
I seem to have this unusual status indicator on my home screen. It has seem to appear after I did an upgrade one of my application. It has the number 1 with a golden globe shaped to it. Can someone please inform me what that status indicator means.
Got a 9700 on Telus HPSA network. Having the same issues as everyone else for the dropped calls, SMS, etc.I am also having a small issue with the New Message Inditcators. When I get a new email, I can go to the main message folder which shows all the messages. If I view it there, the new message indicator for that folder disappears, but it stays on the other folder (gmail, SMS, etc). Is there a way to get it to clear like on my old Curve? Also, want help with changing the sound for my voicemail notifier. I can't find it anywhere in my sound profiles. Can anyone find it? I want to change it.
Is the red indicator message light supposed to go off automatically? Yesterday, I picked up the phone and there was no red indicator light blinking -- however, when I touched my mouse I realized that there had been an incoming message on my BlackBerry Messenger sitting there for about 3 hours. I did not pick up my BlackBerry sooner because I did not see any red light when I walked into the room during that 3-hour period. What can I do to make sure this red light blinks forever until I finally notice it and review the message?
Bought grey/blue housing off of ebay, and switched everything over. The midplate was a litle tricky, but not nearly as hard as people think it is. Feel free to PM
Alright, I've had this 9700 since the first week it's came out and I have never seen this icon before. It is a solid blue chat bubble (not the bbm chat bubble blue but a lighter one) I have no idea what this is, i have gone to my messages, my sms and deleted everything, this thing just popped up today. I have tried a battery pull among other things and have no idea what this is. Once again, it is a solid blue chat bubble (no white dots or red or anything near it) and the number is to the right of the blue icon.
