BB Bold 9700 :: SMSs Appear In BBM Chat Screen
May 8, 2010I've recently upgraded to the Bold 9700 with 5.0 software. My issue (albeit rather small) is that my SMSs appear in my BBM chat screen. I followed advice posted previously and removed the contacts link and yes, the SMSs popped back into my SMS inbox. So you would think problem sorted. But here comes the interesting part : my husband has exactly the same bb, exactly the same software, his BBM contacts are linked to contacts, and his SMSs does not go to his BBM but only his SMS inbox. Confusing or what? Has anyone found a way of solving the issue without removing the contacts link in BBM? Alternatively, if this is the only way, how can I put a display picture in for a BBM contact after I removed the link?
BB Bold 9700 :: Sign Out Of Gmail?
Feb 11, 2010I'm a brand new BlackBerry user! Got my first ever BlackBerry on Tuesday - and I'm loving it! The 9700 is a beautiful little thing.
But, how do I sign out of Gmail? I'm not sure if staying signed in will abuse my data usage (unlimited with Vodafone, but due to their fair use policy - it's technically 500MB).
I'm just using the 'built in' email tool to get my emails, not sure if there's a dedicated app I should be using, or even if this is considered an app... I know very little about BlackBerry's!

May 2, 2010I know there a feature that i can turn on to save conversation for my bbm.However, before i know this feature(which somehow i didnt enable it), there is this urgent conversation i need to retrieve the entire conversation, as it get cut off when the chat is too long, I havent end the conversation with the person yet, but i need to retrieve the whole entire conversation.

Mar 13, 2010I have a problem just have been noticed recently, that within group chat my comment did not get any response from other members. It was then after asking some members about this matter I've just known that any comment I wrote never appeared on their BBs, so nobody ever read any message from me. It happened within Group Chat only. It is completely okay with inter personal chat.
In trying to overcome this problem I have upgraded the OS from the original 330 to 442 and then to 536 without result. Perhaps to change any setting related to this matter?

Jan 12, 2010every 25 seconds or so there is a blue flashing from the led which lasts about 7 flashes. Now the bluetooth is disabled and the led connection indicator is also switched to off. I don't know how and why it started but I just need it off

Apr 19, 2010Only one problem, windows live messenger will install but cant sign in. Keeps telling me Connection 65 error. I have spoke at great lengths to Telus Tech support and they cant figure out why it is happening. Have reinstalled it at least 10 times. It has been off Blackberry world or of microsoft itself. Msn can have its issues.I can sign in on everyone elses phone...BUT MINE! No one who has tried could sign in on mine. They are still researching why it is not working.My yahoo works fine!

Jun 2, 2010Alright, I've had this 9700 since the first week it's came out and I have never seen this icon before. It is a solid blue chat bubble (not the bbm chat bubble blue but a lighter one) I have no idea what this is, i have gone to my messages, my sms and deleted everything, this thing just popped up today. I have tried a battery pull among other things and have no idea what this is. Once again, it is a solid blue chat bubble (no white dots or red or anything near it) and the number is to the right of the blue icon.

Jul 28, 2010My 9700 is only 3 weeks old and now the LED Indicator light does not stop flashing blue.I tried...
- Turning off the option "LED Coverage Indicator"
- Under "Edit Profiles", I turned off LED for every alert
- Under "Manage Connections" I turned on and off Bluetooth (I do not have Bluetooth). I also turn of and on all connections.
- I removed the battery with the Blackberry on and then removed the battery after first shutting off the Blackberry
Is this a known problem with the 9700? Short of returning it, is there anything else I can do?

I am trying to set up my email using POP. the problem is in "login information" my username suppose to be "abc@blabla.com" but it only appear as "abc" thus my blackberry is unable to sign in to the email that i want to set up; and i cannot edit this area because it is set automatically by my device. Before i used Curve 8310 with v4.5 i can sucessfully create similar account becuase the login appear to be "xyz@blabla.com" instead of just "xyz" in username space. I hope you can undestand my problem,

Feb 19, 2010My wife accidently going through her contacts went to the very top where there's a drop down menu for Phone or Contacts. It went to Contacts. Now whenever she goes to her contacts a message pops up saying Sign In or Sign Up to OVI. She's been on the phone now with Nokia for 2 hours trying to resolve.Anyone out there have any ideas?
And by the way, are other brands of phones this bad, what with setting up loops like this can't be broken. Or, like what I've read here and elsewhere, all the problems with the Lock Code? I mean, it seems Nokia needs to go back to the drawing board and work on their user interface.
