How to get rid of the SIM CARD ERROR sign? The phone usualy works perfectly with the network but sometimes the message appears at the top of the screen! I have the blackberry bold 9700.
View 1 RepliesI have an Mac running the Tiger OSX operating system. Because this is an older OS, the BlackBerry Desktop Manager software will not run on my computer. So far, I refuse to pay $170 to upgrade my computer just to run the Blackberry software. Instead, I manually drag my music files from iTunes onto my phone and then organize them later. My problem is as follows:Only some of the music appears on my phone, while much of it does not. At first, I thought this was a DRM issue with iTunes, but some of my downloaded iTunes music does appear and is playable on my BlackBerry.Regardless of how little music appears in my phone's media folder, my BlackBerry memory reflects that I uploaded the FULL amount of my music!Now, the latest problem. When I connect my phone to my Mac and try to delete all the files, they completely disappear from the phone and I still have a massive amount of occupied memory!Failed resolution attempts include: Restarting BlackBerry, battery pull, searching all over my phone's folders via my Mac looking for lost files (none found).

But, how do I sign out of Gmail? I'm not sure if staying signed in will abuse my data usage (unlimited with Vodafone, but due to their fair use policy - it's technically 500MB).
I'm just using the 'built in' email tool to get my emails, not sure if there's a dedicated app I should be using, or even if this is considered an app... I know very little about BlackBerry's!
I had this globe sign and number one besides it on the main screen, I dunno how it got there! anyone can help getting rid of it?

I have spoke at great lengths to Telus Tech support and they cant figure out why it is happening. Have reinstalled it at least 10 times. It has been off Blackberry world or of microsoft itself. Msn can have its issues.I can sign in on everyone elses phone...BUT MINE! No one who has tried could sign in on mine. They are still researching why it is not working.My yahoo works fine!

"Service not Enabled for this handheld". I don't have any Data Plan on my Sim card, but I still have WiFi Internet and I can browse with my BlackBerry.

View 3 Replies View RelatedHi, I'm new here and hope to validate my gloomy intuition.Got my new Bold 9700 yesterday, and several times a day since then, I get the annoying message "media card removed", followed immediately by another message telling me that a new media card has been installed, and my media files will be automatically updated. It seems to be a hardware issue, as I have replicated the problem by holding the phone with my index finger pressing lightly onto the area around the media card.It reminds me of the "death grip" issue that iPhone has, except this affects the media card instead of the antenna. Does anyone else have the same issue? Is it a media card problem, or a handset problem? Should I just exchange it for a new one (I just got it yesterday).

I am trying to set up my email using POP. the problem is in "login information" my username suppose to be "abc@blabla.com" but it only appear as "abc" thus my blackberry is unable to sign in to the email that i want to set up; and i cannot edit this area because it is set automatically by my device. Before i used Curve 8310 with v4.5 i can sucessfully create similar account becuase the login appear to be "xyz@blabla.com" instead of just "xyz" in username space. I hope you can undestand my problem,
My wife accidently going through her contacts went to the very top where there's a drop down menu for Phone or Contacts. It went to Contacts. Now whenever she goes to her contacts a message pops up saying Sign In or Sign Up to OVI. She's been on the phone now with Nokia for 2 hours trying to resolve.Anyone out there have any ideas?
And by the way, are other brands of phones this bad, what with setting up loops like this can't be broken. Or, like what I've read here and elsewhere, all the problems with the Lock Code? I mean, it seems Nokia needs to go back to the drawing board and work on their user interface.
I have a BB Bold 2 (9700). The Media Card slot wont lock down the card and keeps springing it out. If i keep the card pressed down it works but wont lock down.

The sync works between the two devises however it does not recognize the loads of contacts that are on my blackberry devise. The phone died (no charge) and when plugged back in, it started rebooting itself. I didn't notice this until this morning (it rebooted all night long) and now I am able to use the phone without the SIM card in, but as soon as i put the sim in, the phone goes on an endlees reboot.

Doing this broke a contact point off in the sim socket giving initialization failed message. I took the phone apart trying to come up with a fix of my own...... no success

I know there has been a ton of posts about this subject and I have wrote one myself just a few days ago and I got my **** chewed out for even mentioning it. Well I guess the Android platform has just about got that problem licked. They are just around the corner from letting this jewel out. The people from Google said it may be just a "little" slower but will be very usable. The response I received from the forum was that the 9700 had plenty of storage for as many apps as you needed and still operate fast. Agreed but what will happen with the new OS and this great browser around the corner arrives. Many of the phones won't be able to use the new OS because of memory problems so that tells me that it may slow down the 9700 if too many apps are loaded. That is where the ability to save and run apps from memory card will be needed. Android put it together very fast why the **** can't Rim or some company put one together that works?
