BB Bold 9700 :: SMSs Appear In BBM Chat Screen

I've recently upgraded to the Bold 9700 with 5.0 software. My issue (albeit rather small) is that my SMSs appear in my BBM chat screen. I followed advice posted previously and removed the contacts link and yes, the SMSs popped back into my SMS inbox. So you would think problem sorted. But here comes the interesting part : my husband has exactly the same bb, exactly the same software, his BBM contacts are linked to contacts, and his SMSs does not go to his BBM but only his SMS inbox. Confusing or what? Has anyone found a way of solving the issue without removing the contacts link in BBM? Alternatively, if this is the only way, how can I put a display picture in for a BBM contact after I removed the link?

I know there a feature that i can turn on to save conversation for my bbm.However, before i know this feature(which somehow i didnt enable it), there is this urgent conversation i need to retrieve the entire conversation, as it get cut off when the chat is too long, I havent end the conversation with the person yet, but i need to retrieve the whole entire conversation.

I have a problem just have been noticed recently, that within group chat my comment did not get any response from other members. It was then after asking some members about this matter I've just known that any comment I wrote never appeared on their BBs, so nobody ever read any message from me. It happened within Group Chat only. It is completely okay with inter personal chat.
In trying to overcome this problem I have upgraded the OS from the original 330 to 442 and then to 536 without result. Perhaps to change any setting related to this matter?

First post ever but I've been following this site for blackberry advice for a while, but this time I can't seem to find an answer to my dilemma, I've seen on most posts regarding the black screen blinking red light issue but the problem stemmed from installing the OS. Thats not the issue I have, while at work I was chatting with my friend on blackberry messenger but a customer came by so I holstered my blackberry, by the time I finished and took out my blackberry the screen was black and won't turn on, I naturally assumed that my phone died although it was awkward for it to die at like 45% battery life so I ignored it until I got home. I placed my blackberry on my cradle to see if it'll charge but the screen remained black and the LED light blinks twice then stops, then blinks twice again and so forth. Should I do what the posters suggested? Run that program and reinstall an OS hoping it will save my blackberry?

My Bold is stuck on the boot screen (at about 75%). I've tried many battery pulls with and without the SIM and it keeps doing the same thing. I've searched what I think are all the threads on here relating to this, but I'm still stuck. I'm able to connect to the device if I run Loader.exe like a user suggested, but I don't know how/where to get software to load onto the device. All the places I've searched for an OS says I need to go into the device to find information about it. Well, I can't get into the device to do that. So, how do I know what OS to download and install? I really want to exhaust all possibilities before I have to completely wipe the device because I don't have a current backup. But, even if I wipe the device, I'm going to need to download an OS which I can't do now.

Apologies if this was already threaded. I know that many people each have their own preferences but it seemed like for the most part people liked the bigger screen that the 9000 offered.Why did RIM reduce the screen size for the 9700? Will we ever see a blackberry (besides touchscreens) that will have a bigger size again??

I have a collection of some nice SMS on my mobile, so I want to get a printout of these SMS, is there any easy way to do this other than opening each one of them and copy-paste in MS-WORD. There are around thousand SMSs so I will be a time consuming task to copy-paste each SMS.Phone Model : Nokia C5-00
P.S. I don't want one message per page, because that would be expensive and defeat the purpose.

Whenever I press the side volume buttons on my 9700, the screen looks like its being pressed on the side a little ripples show up. I was wondering if anyone elses 9700 does this as well?

My LCD screen recntly broke for my bb bold 9700.I ordered one off ebay, not knowing that there were several screen versions for the same phone.I disposed the broken one, installed the new one, and did not work.I took it to a repair center to see if they could help me out but they need the original version of the screen so that they can replace it.The problem is that I dont have the old screen so I cant tell them which version was it.is there any way I can tell which screen version my bb is intended to use without having the original screen? maybe be SN? bb model?

I’m having a problem with pc suite, it doesn’t notify me on the pc when I receive SMS, I have to click on the icon to make it display the SMS ( the notification popup doesn't display on the taskbar , but when receiving phone calls, it works fine ... )I checked on the setting and everything is configured correctly
Also tried removing and reinstalling pc suite but didn’t work .I remember it working fine some time ago, but haven’t used pc suite for a while and it's not working correctly now. I connected the phone via bluetooth, but tried USB cable too .using windows 7, and the latest version of pc suite.

However, I want to add more icons to the home screen other than the 5 that are currently on there.How do I do this? I am currently using the "Widescreen HD 9700 O550" theme (which looks really nice).I just switched over from the G1/Android OS so I am still learning my way around the Blackberry.

regarding the bold 9700; on the old blackberrys, the SMS screen was set out in an email format when conversations were viewed.now this looked like the new blackberry messenger set up with the blue and white bubbles..is this the same with everybodies and is there anyway i can change it back to the old format?

This has just started happening the last two weeks or so. When I turn the screen off, or when the phone turns the screen off after one minute, it shortly turns back on again. The only thing that will fix this for about two days or so, is a battery pull. Anyone have this issue? I am using Build 862

I've gone into my settings and told it to turn off the backlight after 30 seconds, but for the past few days my phone has just ignored the settings and never ever turns off the backlight.

I get a blackberry Bold 9700 from the telephone company Videotron .- the problem occured after 2 months used : the screen of the blackberry Bold 9700 begin black ( a quarter of the screen from below became black ) .- So I cannot read message text as I receive or I send , from below of the screen , because it is black .- The telephone company ( Videotron ) did not want to repare or change it.- I am in guaranty .- I would like ,for the compassion of a customer ,to receive a positive answer from you , to have my blackberry repared or changed.

Woke up this morning - and it's on the loading screen (that you see after a battery pull) with the progress bar three quarters complete. It's not progressing. Tried removing the battery. Any ideas?

So i came off my phone 1am & everything was cool, during the night i noticed it seemed to be booting up as if it had been battery pulled. When i got up it was still doing this but the progress bar gets a quarter of the way then the screen goes blank & it starts again. It has now been about 8 hours & its STILL doing this. Whats going on & how can i get my phone working again?

Just got my 9700. All in all, I like it except the UI is horrific. The majority of the screen is taken up by the green stuff which serves absolutely no purpose and to get to the screen with all the icons I need to click on the BB button. Obviously, this is subjective and maybe people like this green stuff, but can someone tell me if there is a way to bypass this and have the screen with all the icons be my default? Perhaps someone wrote a theme or something like that?
