Last night while using my bb bold 9700,it just went off,came back on and then my bbm(messenger) was deleted,so i tried updating the OS which turned out to be a failure,unplugging my bb from my laptop minutes later it went off and the red light was blinking twice,charged it all night and symptoms still persist.
View 6 RepliesI have had my 9900 for just over a year after upgrade from a 9000. I loved the phone until two weeks ago I did a upgrade to Blackberry Appworld. Once the upgrade completed it asked for a restart and then the phone became a brick. It would not restart and the red light just flashes. After contacting support and following suggestions to try and make the phone connect to the desktop software without success I took the phone back to Rogers who sent it away to the repair shop. The result... not able to be repaired. Somehow this is now the customers problem because something that no one can identify went wrong with the software upgrade process. No support from Blackberry just what Rogers has to offer which is that I can do an early upgrade to another phone for more money.

After updating the Blackberry App World software and rebooting the device, the red light began flashing as soon as the phone turned back on even though there were no new notifications, and no updates required. I tried switching a few things on and off, but it had no affect. So I performed a battery pull and it solved the problem...until I received an email on my device, and the light would not turn off after I read the email.

The pictures were fixed but the LED light that flashes when there's an alert won't stop flashing. It flashes red several times then stops for a minute or two then flashes again. Does anyone know how to fix this so it will stop flashing? I've tried to pull the battery again and even just reset the phone but it won't stop its driving me insane!
View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded to a bold through Orange (UK Network Provider), phone has been great so far, I have had it for a week. However, I made a call and came back to my phone to find a blank screen and the red light flashing/staying constant intermittently. The phone does not turn on, I have tried taking battery out, sim out, memory card out, attaching it to my computer (which it does not recognize as it needs to be on) charging it etc. I have tried that alt, cap and del reset mechanism too.
Orange told me I will have to send it off this week, but does anyone know any quick fix to turn it on? I have all my contacts on there, stupidly I did not back it up.
My curve randomly turned itself off the other day. I went to power it back on with no luck. I decided to charge it and was still unable to turn it on. There is a flashing red light, 1 flash followed by 3 flashes.

We just got this phone one month ago and this is our second phone with the same problem. Verizon has no clue and just replaces the phone. I can't believe that RIM would sell a device with this many hardware issues. There must be a way to force a reset of the power management system?

Now I try to boot it up again, even when its charging, and all I get is a flashing red light. It flashes 1 time, then it flashes 3 more times, some times faster, some times slower. Been looking for support (done the battery pull and everything) and ways to fix it, but don't find anything. Just have a black screen, its not detectable by the computer, and it only flashes red.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI installed the BB desktop manager for Mac yesterday, and this morning connected to remove some apps, create some space, and install all the updates. In the process of this it mysteriously just stopped doing anything right after it said "database cannot be backed up" and shut off. Now it's flashing red twice, pausing for about 2 seconds, and repeating the flashing. I pulled the battery and sim even though I was sure that wouldn't do anything, plugged it back into my laptop, plugged it into the wall both with and without the battery, and nothing has changed. The desktop manager doesn't not recognize the device at all.
I'm using a Curve 8330. Is there anything I can do or am I screwed totally? Also, and I know this is a long shot, but what are the odds that I can restore the device and save the data that's on it?

I plugged it into the wall charger last night as I always do, when I got up this morning the time on the clock showed 2.08am even though it was 5.45am, I unplugged the charger and the screen went black. I couldn't turn it on. I removed the battery and put it back in again and still the same, just won't switch on. The LED is flashing 1pause 1,2,3 pause 1, rather than a consistent flashing like when you have a message waiting.I have tried plugging the charger back into it but still nothing, just completely black screen and won't switch on.

View 3 Replies View RelatedYesterday I was waiting for an important call but needed a shower so I took my phone into the bathroom and put it in a dry safe place where I would hear it ring if need be. It did so I quickly jumped out of the shower, dried hands and answered a message. Few minutes later when back at my desk at home I realized the bold was behaving weird, key presses were not doing the right function, i.e. a press of the back key brought up jk or other letters on the screen etc.
It did not sustain water damage, at worst my hands were merely damp when used so I just figured pop it down for a while and let it 'dry' (it wasn't wet but you know what I mean, its all I could think of) picked it up maybe 15 minutes later and it appeared to have died. Now, its 15 months old (and was a refurbished handset direct from 02 when I got it so its had a hard life) its been bumped, and not long after I got it I broke the screen (LCD bleed) so I had it repaired which forfeited the warranty, also the trackball has been a constant nightmare to me, it stops working in one or more direction regularly.
I've found the solution to this to be to clean the trackball gently with a q-tip dipped in clear alcohol, after some time this usually works, but a couple of months ago I could not get this to work at all so after 2 weeks of a phone that would not scroll left I had the trackball replaced. I now had issues with the trackball not selecting when I push down but this is got around by using the return key or it does sometimes work if you push hard. So, with this new flashing red light failure I took it back to the place that replaced the screen. They kept it for 24 hours and when I went back to collect it they said it was a component failure and beyond economic repair.
Quite truthfully though I got the impression that they actually just couldn't be bothered as it was a hard job. Came home and started researching, other posts I have read lead me to believe that if the LED comes on in any way all is not lost. My computer does not recognize the phone when I try and connect it via USB, although just now I tried again and windows acknowledged that a device had just been plugged in, but the blackberry software still did not detect anything. What can I try now? I am not tech savvy so it will need to be clearly laid out for idiots.
my blackberry bold 9900 which I´ve had for about 3 months now doesn´t turn on, I´ve read stuff everywhere about bricked or nuked phones, but normally the red light is flashing I think.

Instead I have a slow flashing red indicator light.I tried to connect it to my Blackberry Desktop Software but it wouldn't see it (kept saying it couldn't connect).I understand this is a common problem with the 9900 and that exchange the phone is the only solution.
