I've just bought an Xperia Play and I'm having trouble using it. I've been charging it for about 5 hours and the only thing that's happening is a flashing red light on the power button. I've tried all the suggestions I've found (such as taking the battery in and out, swapping the SD card etc.) and none of them seem to work. Is there anything else I can try?
View 9 RepliesI was checking my phone one morning when it asked me to update, after that a message popped up saying that for the next update the phone had to be turned off for about 5 minutes. It never turned on again after that.I already posted a discussion notice about it not turning and the wonderful team member helped me and told me to flash my phone and try the updater. I've done both now and my phone is yet to turn on.I believe the flashing must of done something as now the LED light on the power button flashes red when I hold down it. But it still does not turn on.This has been really frustrating and the problem still continues to go on.Now when I try pc companion update service and hold the back button and connect the phone my PC doesn't recognize the device. Same message pops up if I just plug my phone in normally.

I've had some problems with my X10 lately. Admittedly this was after a full-on day in the Scottish Highlands where the phone was exposed to cold and rain. Getting back into a warm car the phone started going mental, the led lights flashing like a Christmas party disco and the vibrate constantly on. After a session on the radiator I got some life out of the phone. It basically works except for the following:
- the top left power button to standby/turn the phone off does nothing (the phone switches itself on when you put the battery in)
- same for the bottom middle button to standby, although it will bring the main desktop up.
- the red led light is on permanently (this is so annoying)
I have re-flashed Gingerbread and had the phone on charge for hour upon hour to no avail. I have installed a free widget that puts the phone on standby but I can't power it down without taking the batter out.
getting the power button working and telling me if there's a way (hardware or software) to get the red LED light to go out (this means that any messages/missed calls reders the green light inoperative)
So. My Xperia is on (I can hear the notification ringtone go off whenever my phone gets a text message or a Facebook message) but it won't respond when I push the power button to light/wake up the screen. This started happening at 9PM and it is now 1:30AM. I don't know what to do.

It's my Girlfriend's old phone, and she says it's around a year and 2 months old, so it's out of warranty (Assuming the warrranty is a year)
Thinking it was a software issue, I took the battery out and put it back in again, but now the phone won't turn on, as said button is not working.
My partner's Xperia Play decided not to boot this morning. (It was fine at 7.30 but by 8.30 it was dead). On pressing the power button, it vibrates for a few seconds but does not show any other sign of booting. He has tried removing the battery to boot it but to no avail. When he plugged it into his laptop, the machine failed to recognise the device. It just continuously made the device connect then device disconnect sounds. The laptop is only a couple of weeks old so I highly doubt that it's an issue with the USB ports. It does not detect the phone long enough to perform an update. Is it possible that the USB cable is faulty, or the USB port on the phone? Or could it be a compatibility issue with the laptop?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a 9 month old Xperia Play through Verizon, about a week ago, I started having this intermitten porblem where the display wouldn't wake up by using the power button or the home button. Sometimes it works on a single press, other times it takes multiple presses. occassionally it refuses to wakeup at all, forcing me to pull the battery. I have already tried a settings reset and begrudgingly follwed up with a factory reset, which of course whipped 9 months of data away. Neither reset process had any affect. I have really grown attached to this phone and would hate to lose it

When mobile phone Nokia E52 is leave to close the screen light, the light of the selection button is flashing by one flash each 10 secodns, I mention cause are not missing phone or missing messeges. Is this flashing normaly or this menas somenting. On other models of this phone is the same, or I have to do something to close this flashing.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have had my 9900 for just over a year after upgrade from a 9000. I loved the phone until two weeks ago I did a upgrade to Blackberry Appworld. Once the upgrade completed it asked for a restart and then the phone became a brick. It would not restart and the red light just flashes. After contacting support and following suggestions to try and make the phone connect to the desktop software without success I took the phone back to Rogers who sent it away to the repair shop. The result... not able to be repaired. Somehow this is now the customers problem because something that no one can identify went wrong with the software upgrade process. No support from Blackberry just what Rogers has to offer which is that I can do an early upgrade to another phone for more money.

We just got this phone one month ago and this is our second phone with the same problem. Verizon has no clue and just replaces the phone. I can't believe that RIM would sell a device with this many hardware issues. There must be a way to force a reset of the power management system?

Now I try to boot it up again, even when its charging, and all I get is a flashing red light. It flashes 1 time, then it flashes 3 more times, some times faster, some times slower. Been looking for support (done the battery pull and everything) and ways to fix it, but don't find anything. Just have a black screen, its not detectable by the computer, and it only flashes red.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI installed the BB desktop manager for Mac yesterday, and this morning connected to remove some apps, create some space, and install all the updates. In the process of this it mysteriously just stopped doing anything right after it said "database cannot be backed up" and shut off. Now it's flashing red twice, pausing for about 2 seconds, and repeating the flashing. I pulled the battery and sim even though I was sure that wouldn't do anything, plugged it back into my laptop, plugged it into the wall both with and without the battery, and nothing has changed. The desktop manager doesn't not recognize the device at all.
I'm using a Curve 8330. Is there anything I can do or am I screwed totally? Also, and I know this is a long shot, but what are the odds that I can restore the device and save the data that's on it?
couple of weeks agao the stupid thing switched itself onto flight mode i did a seus update all has been fine untill yesterday the battery was charge but it turned itself off anyway and now it wont come back on all im getting is a red flashing light!
Iv'e tried everything i took the battery out for an hour put it back in tried to charge it left it on charge for a couple of hours nothing.Iv'e tried to re-update it but it wont recgonise being plugged in to the computer.

Ok today my phone was sitting on my desk not being used at all. I hadn't used it in about 30 min before that and battery was at 75%. So i was sitting there and the screen turns on by itself I thought ok phone call or text. I try to unlock the screen I noticed there was no signal bars red x and screen would not unlock it was frozen then about 5 seconds the phone turns off.
Now it will not power on and I have tried 3 known good chargers but the led in the top flashes red. If I press power down button led stays solid red as long as I hold power button on when on charger. If I unplug from charger power button does nothing not even power + down or up volume. I even tried little yellow reset button next to sim card nothing. Is my 4 month old phone shot? The sony companion app on pc does not find phone either this blows.

My sony Xperia z3 has the notification light flashing blue, but the screen wont turn on. Ive tried plugging the charger in, using the wireless charger, I even had ny husband call my phone and the screen never lit up and the phone never rang. Ive held down the power button, ive held the power and vol up button and still nothing.

View 9 Replies View Relatedi plugged my phone up last night before i went to bed and it was working fine. when i got up it was turned off, when i try to turn it on the led on the power button blinks red. i tried plugging it up and it showed sony ericcson on the screen then nothing. its not registering the charger, and ive tried removing the battery and checking it out and it the battery dosent appear damaged and my sd card is fine.

I have turned off every notification I can find, email, text, facebook etc. I have deselected the LED option ( changed to none) I cannot figure how WHY this light keeps blinking.
