Phone switched itself off with no warning, had 55% battery.. plugged it on charge straight away, nothing but a red flashing light. Its been on charge ever since, so over 3 days, still nothing.Â

put it on charge last night as i normally do, then when i looked at it after about an hour, it said: Cannot Charge Battery, Please use a Sony Ericsson Battery, I still had about 50% battery so i switched it on and it goes past the turn on / flight mode menu then theres just a white screen saying please insert correct sim. The red light is also flashing.

Iv'e tried everything i took the battery out for an hour put it back in tried to charge it left it on charge for a couple of hours nothing.Iv'e tried to re-update it but it wont recgonise being plugged in to the computer.

View 2 Replies View RelatedOk today my phone was sitting on my desk not being used at all. I hadn't used it in about 30 min before that and battery was at 75%. So i was sitting there and the screen turns on by itself I thought ok phone call or text. I try to unlock the screen I noticed there was no signal bars red x and screen would not unlock it was frozen then about 5 seconds the phone turns off.

Now it will not power on and I have tried 3 known good chargers but the led in the top flashes red. If I press power down button led stays solid red as long as I hold power button on when on charger. If I unplug from charger power button does nothing not even power + down or up volume. I even tried little yellow reset button next to sim card nothing. Is my 4 month old phone shot? The sony companion app on pc does not find phone either this blows.
I was checking my phone one morning when it asked me to update, after that a message popped up saying that for the next update the phone had to be turned off for about 5 minutes. It never turned on again after that.I already posted a discussion notice about it not turning and the wonderful team member helped me and told me to flash my phone and try the updater. I've done both now and my phone is yet to turn on.I believe the flashing must of done something as now the LED light on the power button flashes red when I hold down it. But it still does not turn on.This has been really frustrating and the problem still continues to go on.Now when I try pc companion update service and hold the back button and connect the phone my PC doesn't recognize the device. Same message pops up if I just plug my phone in normally.

I've just bought an Xperia Play and I'm having trouble using it. I've been charging it for about 5 hours and the only thing that's happening is a flashing red light on the power button. I've tried all the suggestions I've found (such as taking the battery in and out, swapping the SD card etc.) and none of them seem to work. Is there anything else I can try?

I have turned off every notification I can find, email, text, facebook etc. I have deselected the LED option ( changed to none) I cannot figure how WHY this light keeps blinking. - battery was decreasing faster than charging and the phone ran out of battery and turned off
- tried to plug it into mains but no red light to verify charging
- used another charger and still no red light to verify charging
- tried to turn on. nothing. tried to reset. nothing.
- checked chargers with friends phone and chargers were working fine
- tried to charge the phone with a PC USB. PC verified something had been plugged in but said they couldn't verify and there was a problem.
- left the phone for about an hour.
- when returned to the phone the red out-of-battery light was blinking when I tried to press the power button.
- went to my car and tried to charge it via the sony bluetooth radio
- lights turned off and phone returned to unresponsive state
- got home about 40 minutes later and red lights are on
- charged it via AC adapter at home, left it for a bit, now charging normally.

For a while i thought my phone was completely busted and I was so angry as I've just had a replacement. Before lollipop if the phone ran out of battery it would just start to charge.. I wouldn't have to wait an hour for it to become responsive again?! just making sure this isnt a fault.
My phone was working perfectly alright last night but lost charge so went go charge it as normal from the wall socket but it did not charge at all and not even the red power light showing. Thought I'd give it another go in the morning but no, just the red light on but no power. Now it still has the red power light show up but then after about 30 mins a battery sign shows that is different to the last battery sign that it had before so was wondering if the system has updated automatically???? Turns on but shows main screen for a millisecond and switches straight off saying 0% battery even though its been charging a good while.

Also tried to connect other devices to my PC, and they worked. Another thing that I noticed is that when I start my computer, the phone recognizes the connection and starts to charge, but as soon as Windows starts, the connection is lost, like if the USB cable was disconnected. Still, when I disconnect and reconnect the cable, the PC Companion acts like if a device was connected to the computer and tries to find the phone, but fails. I have Windows 7, if it matters.

When i receive notifications there is no flashing, regardless of the type of notification. I know the light is not broken because it does flash blue when I knock on the screen, and it also lights red when charging. I downloaded Light Flow to see if I could force the light, but that does not seem to have worked either. I checked to make sure the notification light was set to on under the Display setting page.

I have recently noticed that there is a small blue light located next to the secondary camera, (front top right corner above the screen) which flashes every few seconds or so when the phone is not in use. Does anyone have any ideas what this is and how it can be stopped?
