BB Bold :: 9900 DEAD - Not Charging, No Red Light?
Jul 6, 2012
I was having some issues with my 9900, mainly the touch screen wasn't working. Since I couldn't really use the phone, I left if for a week and know it will not charge.. The phone's red light will not turn on when plugging in and another battery did not work. When you plug it in, the battery charging indicator in the middle of the screen will comeoup showing charging, but after 2 mins the icon disappears and the screen goes black. I have also tried connecting it withhout the battery to the desk top manager to update the software, but it says it cannot connect to device .
I have a Rogers Bold 9900 that wouldn't turn on this morning after charging last night. Instead I have a slow flashing red indicator light.I tried to connect it to my Blackberry Desktop Software but it wouldn't see it (kept saying it couldn't connect).I understand this is a common problem with the 9900 and that exchange the phone is the only solution. Typically I would go back to Rogers and try to exchange the phone but I bought the phone outright and can't find the receipt anywhere.SInce this model is less than a year old (so my phone can't be out of warranty is there another way to exchange it without my original receipt?I came back to BB from Android and actually quite liked my Bold (especially in tandem with my Playbook) but now I find myself back on an old Android phone because my Bold is dead.
I have an xperia z2 it was working fine and suddenly it went dead no sign of charging no light nothing i tried every trick on the net " run + volume " anything I found I've already try it but nothing i changed the motherboard and still nothing i went to a repair store and after 2 weeks it's on but only for 2days and went dead again.
My blackberry 9810 is dead and no red light shown while charging. I have removed the battery and re inserted it severally but still not coming up. Though, the phone is about 6month old.
My 2 month old phone wont turn on and only a red led light flashes. I tried downloading new software but it wont recognize it. Im abroad now but would like to know where can I take my phone in the states so I can get a replacement.
Blackberry Bold 9900 a couple of months old, froze today. After taking the battery out and replacing it again the phone is responseless. Nothing. Even connecting to PC or charger does nothing...
My 9000 was ok this morning then i charged it .After a few hours when charging , my phone is dead.i mean it was charging when i first put device on the charger, there was no problem, few hours later i looked at the phone if the battery is full,it's dead, no red light ,nothing .i tried connect it to computer and connect it to charger nothing happens. Now i'm charging the battery with an external charger. After then i'll try to put it back to 9000.
I used my Blackberry 9900 ( Carrier : o2 UK, OPerating system: OS 7.1) to make a call and noticed it was running out of battery. I then placed it on my table only to return to find it dead. I have tried everything from connecting the phone to 4 different computers, with and without the battery, I have also used about 3 or 4 other batteries and it still wont come on or show any sign of life. The worst part is whilst researching the issue online, I noticed other people mention a light or a sign comes up but with mine there has been no light, no sign, just DEAD! I tried the App Loader method but no PC recognises the phone when connected. The phone was never dropped or wet or ever misplaced or mishandle. I have had it for just over a year and this is puzzling.
I have had my 9900 for a couple months now and just a couple of days ago it started freezing up, I had to remove the battery every time it would freeze. So one day it froze took out the battery put it back in and never turned on. No lights nothing I even tired a new battery completely dead. So I was told my motherboard could be gone and said to return it to rim because of the one year warranty.
After putting my phone on charge last night, I woke up to my 9900 with a blank screen and a red light that blinks every couple of seconds. No amount of battery pulls would fix the problem. Upon researching for a solution I discovered that this issue is actually a very common problem with the 9900. At this rate, I don't really care about recovering my phone as it seems that the model is entirely unreliable anyway. Just want to know if anybody with this issue has been successful in retrieving files stored on their device. I recorded some important videos a few days back, and stupidly saved it directly onto the device instead of the memory card. Desktop manager doesn't recognize the phone with or without the battery inserted.
Yesterday I was waiting for an important call but needed a shower so I took my phone into the bathroom and put it in a dry safe place where I would hear it ring if need be. It did so I quickly jumped out of the shower, dried hands and answered a message. Few minutes later when back at my desk at home I realized the bold was behaving weird, key presses were not doing the right function, i.e. a press of the back key brought up jk or other letters on the screen etc.
It did not sustain water damage, at worst my hands were merely damp when used so I just figured pop it down for a while and let it 'dry' (it wasn't wet but you know what I mean, its all I could think of) picked it up maybe 15 minutes later and it appeared to have died. Now, its 15 months old (and was a refurbished handset direct from 02 when I got it so its had a hard life) its been bumped, and not long after I got it I broke the screen (LCD bleed) so I had it repaired which forfeited the warranty, also the trackball has been a constant nightmare to me, it stops working in one or more direction regularly.
I've found the solution to this to be to clean the trackball gently with a q-tip dipped in clear alcohol, after some time this usually works, but a couple of months ago I could not get this to work at all so after 2 weeks of a phone that would not scroll left I had the trackball replaced. I now had issues with the trackball not selecting when I push down but this is got around by using the return key or it does sometimes work if you push hard. So, with this new flashing red light failure I took it back to the place that replaced the screen. They kept it for 24 hours and when I went back to collect it they said it was a component failure and beyond economic repair.
Quite truthfully though I got the impression that they actually just couldn't be bothered as it was a hard job. Came home and started researching, other posts I have read lead me to believe that if the LED comes on in any way all is not lost. My computer does not recognize the phone when I try and connect it via USB, although just now I tried again and windows acknowledged that a device had just been plugged in, but the blackberry software still did not detect anything. What can I try now? I am not tech savvy so it will need to be clearly laid out for idiots.
Purchased 4 months ago Condition before the incident: perfect.
I always took a full care of my belongings (especially the electronics). This phone was only used by me. I never over charged it and always update it. I also never overloaded it with softwares.Today the phone just refused to turn on (no lights, vibration, nothing at all). Even when I tried charging it, the battery never gave a sign of the charging process.
I have used my phone around 3 AM, at that time I remember the phone having between 25 to 20 % of battery life, and was working fine. I went to bed and woke up around 7:30 AM, that is when I found the phone off. I then tried charging it normally because I never thought that it will never turn back on, I assumed that it ran out of battery and that it needed charging. I tried every method of recharge I was able to perform (of the wall, changed the charger, off a USB cord connected to my laptop, etc).
I luckily had a recent back up, because I updated the software then. Yet, I think its ridiculous because I have paid a lot to get this phone (I actually purchased two of them and now I am nervous that the other one will have the same fate). For now, I am using my an older phone (bold 9780) and contacted T-Mobile USA and see if they can help me, and unfortunately they did not have any clue as they claim, about this dilemma. Meanwhile, I found many people owning bold 9900 and 9930 models complaining from the same problem that I have encountered.
My two months new 9900 dead on me yesterday. I am told there is a short on the system board and BB will not power up. I need to get my contact information and some data in my BB back up somewhere until I receive my new phone, anyway I can do it? I tried many ways including remove battery and connect to USB, I also have my 9900 charged for more than 10 hours already. Still no power.
My phone went off while i was using it and hasn't come on since, and is not showing the red light, even after charging it, I've tried a different battery and its still the same,
my BB 9900 was battery drained and when i charge it i forgot to pull the charger. the effect was i can't turn it on redlight blinks and i also can't update it.
Last night my battery was practically dead so I turned off my phone and charged it overnight. When i woke up this morning it would not turn on. I have a completely black screen with a red light slowly flashing.
I have done battery pull and attempted to reload the applications as per someone else's suggestiong *when i press finish at the last step and it begins to download JVM and system software and completes that and a check mark appears next to it but when it goes to the next step which is "Wait for device initilization" it doesnt complete the reconnecting to JVM part and an error pops up reading "Application Loader was unable to connect with your device. Please re-connect your device, enter the password, if required, and retry" no matter how many times i try this it doesnt work.
I am at a loss of what to do. I've had the blackberry since early november and this happened once before and the battery pull solved it.
So my 9900 had some charge (about 30%) so I plugged it in to charge it over night, and left it.When my alarm didn't go in the morning, I went over to it and it wouldn't turn on.I unplugged it from the charger and performed a battery pull. The red light came on, and that was it.
I have a Blackberry bold 9900 software version 7.1.0.523. As you all now the battery is a big problem. I have found a solution with a battery skin.[URL].. This battery skin charge the battery with at the bottom two contacts.
When we put in the phone and start the battery skin we get a flash sign in the battery. So it start charging.[URL]..
But after 10 to 15 seconds it stops and we get the plug in battery..![URL]..It rufuse to chrage the battery. I removed all third party apps.
I have had my 9900 for just over a year after upgrade from a 9000. I loved the phone until two weeks ago I did a upgrade to Blackberry Appworld. Once the upgrade completed it asked for a restart and then the phone became a brick. It would not restart and the red light just flashes. After contacting support and following suggestions to try and make the phone connect to the desktop software without success I took the phone back to Rogers who sent it away to the repair shop. The result... not able to be repaired. Somehow this is now the customers problem because something that no one can identify went wrong with the software upgrade process. No support from Blackberry just what Rogers has to offer which is that I can do an early upgrade to another phone for more money.
Phone worked fine for nearly 2 weeks and now it does not work anymore: when you insert battery the phone want comes on and the red led light keep flashing and screen is black nothing more...
We are trader and buy/sell many black berry models but never faced such situation before with any of the older models of Blackberry.
We have more than 100 customers return of Blackberry 9900 bricked, red light flashing.
Note to Mr. jakoby4204 (Moderator) donât make my massage read only so i could not reply to you again!we were expecting your help rather than blocking our reply to you, also we went to [URL] but got no reply from RIM hence we decided to use this thinking someone has a solution for this because we are sure we are not the only one and maybe..maybe its bring s the attention of RIM and help all its customers
Last night, my blackberry bold 9900 battery got so low it turned the radio off. I put it on charge over night and when I woke up this morning it will not turn on. The red light simply shows for about 20 seconds and that is it. I have tried pulling the battery but when I replace the battery it just shows the red light once again for about 20 seconds and the screen remains black.
My blackberry doesnt start up, the red light just comes and goes I don't know what to do ive tried taking out the battery and charging it without the battery then putting it in but nothing seems to work?
The red light is keep on blinking ... And I am not able to start the phone ..... When I put my phone charging the red light appears and keep on blinking .... And it blinks when I remove the battery ..... I tooth my battery might be dead so I charge it from external source and put the battery back wide almost full power ....but its not working .
I left my phone charging last night, and when I woke up I just saw the red LED blinking, but it doesn't turn on. THE DISPLAY DOESN'T TURN ON EITHER, so it's not the problem in which the phone reboots over and over. The LED just blinks and then a long blink and then a pause. My computer won't recognize my cellphone. I tried batter pull but it didn't work.
