View 3 RepliesI just received a used blackberry bold 9000. I still have not been able to turn it on, it is black with a blinking led light (which only shows when plugged in to either the wall charger or USB). It blinks once (red) and then three times very quickly. I can not wipe the hardware because my computer does not recognize the device. Is there anyway to fix this? I do not want to return it if I can easily fix it.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI left my phone charging last night, and when I woke up I just saw the red LED blinking, but it doesn't turn on. THE DISPLAY DOESN'T TURN ON EITHER, so it's not the problem in which the phone reboots over and over. The LED just blinks and then a long blink and then a pause. My computer won't recognize my cellphone. I tried batter pull but it didn't work.

It also doesnt respond to Desktop Software Manager.
I tried a couple of things from different forums, but with no joy. I read this is a well know issue to RIM,
I baught my blackberry Bold 9900 this year (March 2012). I've been using it since then but recently it started developing problems like freezing and all. Last night the battery was around 30% (Enough to last couple of hours) the phone just freezed and won't turn on. It keeps flashing red light 3 times every 3 seconds.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI don't own one but am scouting out the BBB9900. I saw a uTube video and the phone had a red light blinking on top right hand side of phone. Blinking lights bother me on a device I need to work with. When is it blinking, How long, and when does it not.
Does the BBB9900 have an external antenna port so I can boost the reception ?
Blackberry Bold 9900 a couple of months old, froze today. After taking the battery out and replacing it again the phone is responseless. Nothing. Even connecting to PC or charger does nothing...

View 9 Replies View RelatedI used my Blackberry 9900 ( Carrier : o2 UK, OPerating system: OS 7.1) to make a call and noticed it was running out of battery. I then placed it on my table only to return to find it dead. I have tried everything from connecting the phone to 4 different computers, with and without the battery, I have also used about 3 or 4 other batteries and it still wont come on or show any sign of life. The worst part is whilst researching the issue online, I noticed other people mention a light or a sign comes up but with mine there has been no light, no sign, just DEAD! I tried the App Loader method but no PC recognises the phone when connected. The phone was never dropped or wet or ever misplaced or mishandle. I have had it for just over a year and this is puzzling.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have had my 9900 for a couple months now and just a couple of days ago it started freezing up, I had to remove the battery every time it would freeze. So one day it froze took out the battery put it back in and never turned on. No lights nothing I even tired a new battery completely dead. So I was told my motherboard could be gone and said to return it to rim because of the one year warranty.
View 8 Replies View RelatedAfter putting my phone on charge last night, I woke up to my 9900 with a blank screen and a red light that blinks every couple of seconds. No amount of battery pulls would fix the problem. Upon researching for a solution I discovered that this issue is actually a very common problem with the 9900. At this rate, I don't really care about recovering my phone as it seems that the model is entirely unreliable anyway. Just want to know if anybody with this issue has been successful in retrieving files stored on their device. I recorded some important videos a few days back, and stupidly saved it directly onto the device instead of the memory card. Desktop manager doesn't recognize the phone with or without the battery inserted.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was having some issues with my 9900, mainly the touch screen wasn't working. Since I couldn't really use the phone, I left if for a week and know it will not charge.. The phone's red light will not turn on when plugging in and another battery did not work. When you plug it in, the battery charging indicator in the middle of the screen will comeoup showing charging, but after 2 mins the icon disappears and the screen goes black. I have also tried connecting it withhout the battery to the desk top manager to update the software, but it says it cannot connect to device .

Condition before the incident: perfect.
I always took a full care of my belongings (especially the electronics). This phone was only used by me. I never over charged it and always update it. I also never overloaded it with softwares.Today the phone just refused to turn on (no lights, vibration, nothing at all). Even when I tried charging it, the battery never gave a sign of the charging process.
I have used my phone around 3 AM, at that time I remember the phone having between 25 to 20 % of battery life, and was working fine. I went to bed and woke up around 7:30 AM, that is when I found the phone off. I then tried charging it normally because I never thought that it will never turn back on, I assumed that it ran out of battery and that it needed charging. I tried every method of recharge I was able to perform (of the wall, changed the charger, off a USB cord connected to my laptop, etc).
I luckily had a recent back up, because I updated the software then. Yet, I think its ridiculous because I have paid a lot to get this phone (I actually purchased two of them and now I am nervous that the other one will have the same fate). For now, I am using my an older phone (bold 9780) and contacted T-Mobile USA and see if they can help me, and unfortunately they did not have any clue as they claim, about this dilemma. Meanwhile, I found many people owning bold 9900 and 9930 models complaining from the same problem that I have encountered.
My two months new 9900 dead on me yesterday. I am told there is a short on the system board and BB will not power up. I need to get my contact information and some data in my BB back up somewhere until I receive my new phone, anyway I can do it? I tried many ways including remove battery and connect to USB, I also have my 9900 charged for more than 10 hours already. Still no power.

I've bought a unbranded Bold 9000 (made in Canada) a couple of days ago and after setting up everything okay (.822 OS included) and using WiFi nicely I suddenly got the wifi connection dead error
I've tried:
- reading every thread about it
- several 5 min+ battery pulls
- reinstalling the OS
- delete apps
and no solution so far. Is there any way to fix this without sending it back to warranty?? (I bought it online at a HK shop) I think I'm about to cry now

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded my Blackberry to version 5 from 4.6, and it seems to be having trouble keeping a data connection on 3G, as well as wifi occasionally. It will connect to for a short while (under a minute) to data and the blackberry services but whenever I try to download anything or after a certain amount of time it will disconnect. Wifi is more stable but it does seem to disconnect every now and then. It works fine on GPRS. I've resent the service books a couple of times and I've done multiple battery removing reboots, yet it still keeps doing it. Does anyone have any ideas?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI plugged my 9790 into my PC to sync with desktop manager and was offered a software upgrade first. Desktop Manager loaded new software ok. The Device Software update started and the back up went fine. Software seemed to download ok but is now stuck during the install at 'Reconnecting to JVM'. It has been like this for hours. The screen of the 9790 shows the clock although a reminder message came up which I cancelled - now back to the clock. The text in the update window says that the device must not be disconnected during the update process as it might render it unusable.
