BB Bold :: Retrieving Contact Information And Data From Dead 9900?
Jul 5, 2012
My two months new 9900 dead on me yesterday. I am told there is a short on the system board and BB will not power up. I need to get my contact information and some data in my BB back up somewhere until I receive my new phone, anyway I can do it? I tried many ways including remove battery and connect to USB, I also have my 9900 charged for more than 10 hours already. Still no power.
i had updated my bold 9900 resently as the software was not complete.i had also kept a backup i found photos, video and all but i can't locate my contact information it is horrifing what do i do?
After putting my phone on charge last night, I woke up to my 9900 with a blank screen and a red light that blinks every couple of seconds. No amount of battery pulls would fix the problem. Upon researching for a solution I discovered that this issue is actually a very common problem with the 9900. At this rate, I don't really care about recovering my phone as it seems that the model is entirely unreliable anyway. Just want to know if anybody with this issue has been successful in retrieving files stored on their device. I recorded some important videos a few days back, and stupidly saved it directly onto the device instead of the memory card. Desktop manager doesn't recognize the phone with or without the battery inserted.
My entire contacts list has been wiped out as I changed my password and was unable to remember the new one. After 10 attempts, everything was wiped out. Is there any way, I can retrieve the conatct list data.
Just updated my phone to get an app and assumed my address book contacts would be backed up but it hasn't. Is there any way of retrieving the information and saving it for the future?
Blackberry Bold 9900 a couple of months old, froze today. After taking the battery out and replacing it again the phone is responseless. Nothing. Even connecting to PC or charger does nothing...
I used my Blackberry 9900 ( Carrier : o2 UK, OPerating system: OS 7.1) to make a call and noticed it was running out of battery. I then placed it on my table only to return to find it dead. I have tried everything from connecting the phone to 4 different computers, with and without the battery, I have also used about 3 or 4 other batteries and it still wont come on or show any sign of life. The worst part is whilst researching the issue online, I noticed other people mention a light or a sign comes up but with mine there has been no light, no sign, just DEAD! I tried the App Loader method but no PC recognises the phone when connected. The phone was never dropped or wet or ever misplaced or mishandle. I have had it for just over a year and this is puzzling.
I have had my 9900 for a couple months now and just a couple of days ago it started freezing up, I had to remove the battery every time it would freeze. So one day it froze took out the battery put it back in and never turned on. No lights nothing I even tired a new battery completely dead. So I was told my motherboard could be gone and said to return it to rim because of the one year warranty.
I was having some issues with my 9900, mainly the touch screen wasn't working. Since I couldn't really use the phone, I left if for a week and know it will not charge.. The phone's red light will not turn on when plugging in and another battery did not work. When you plug it in, the battery charging indicator in the middle of the screen will comeoup showing charging, but after 2 mins the icon disappears and the screen goes black. I have also tried connecting it withhout the battery to the desk top manager to update the software, but it says it cannot connect to device .
My provider was not able to. I had to get my phone switched out and I asked them to transfer all information from my old phone to my new phone. Well, to my surprise they returned my new phone to me and it did not have my contact information, my memo notes nor my text messages. They said this information was lost. (1) how this could have happened and (2) Is there anyway to capture this lost information. It is very important that I retrieve this information back..
Purchased 4 months ago Condition before the incident: perfect.
I always took a full care of my belongings (especially the electronics). This phone was only used by me. I never over charged it and always update it. I also never overloaded it with softwares.Today the phone just refused to turn on (no lights, vibration, nothing at all). Even when I tried charging it, the battery never gave a sign of the charging process.
I have used my phone around 3 AM, at that time I remember the phone having between 25 to 20 % of battery life, and was working fine. I went to bed and woke up around 7:30 AM, that is when I found the phone off. I then tried charging it normally because I never thought that it will never turn back on, I assumed that it ran out of battery and that it needed charging. I tried every method of recharge I was able to perform (of the wall, changed the charger, off a USB cord connected to my laptop, etc).
I luckily had a recent back up, because I updated the software then. Yet, I think its ridiculous because I have paid a lot to get this phone (I actually purchased two of them and now I am nervous that the other one will have the same fate). For now, I am using my an older phone (bold 9780) and contacted T-Mobile USA and see if they can help me, and unfortunately they did not have any clue as they claim, about this dilemma. Meanwhile, I found many people owning bold 9900 and 9930 models complaining from the same problem that I have encountered.
I seem to have lost some contact information. Though many of my contacts are still intact, others no longer show a secondary phone number I once entered, or some contacts seem to have disappeared completely. The strange thing is, when I dial one of the "lost" numbers manually, the contact's name does show up! But I can't find it in the list of contacts. I have already checked and unchecked the Business and Personal options in the filter menu, but that didn't do the trick.Any suggestions on what I might be doing wrong?note: this problem is not my own - I'm asking for a friend of mine
Does retrieving music and data from iCloud use up the data plan usage? And is there an adapter that will allow me to charge the iPhone with the standard charging cord for Blackberry and Android?
My E71 has died a slow and painful death. Now I've read elsewhere on this forum that the E71 does not support charging via the onboard USB port however:
- My E71 is absolutely dead flat out of battery; - My E71 is refusing to charge due to some inherant damage to both power charger and charging circuit (because it still won't charge on my Husband's charger); - I have some very important information stored on the phone memory (not SD card) that I need to access and have no real way of doing so; and - I have recently done a backup of the phone, but won't allow me to access the file without the phone connected.
I recently upgraded my bold 9900 with the recommended download. Since then my BB has two of all my contacts i.e. all have duplicates. How can I delete them all and resync with outlook.
Somehow I lingered over the delete too long or something and the confirm came up for one of my contacts. I rolled down to cancel, but after I clicked it jumped back up to delete and removed my contact. Currently, I do not have a back up of my database as it has been a bit more difficult than with my last phone and computer. Let's face it.... I've been procrastinating in tacking the project!
Does anyone know if it is possible to retrieve this contact? I figure the info still has to be somewhere on the phone..
I have 2 contact lists on my 9900. Both with the same name, one will all my contacts in and one with only 36 in. I want to remove the small one as that is the one synching with Outlook, not the big one.
As I want to transfer the contact books into BlackBerry Bold 9900. I downloaded vCard from Google yesterday, but it cannot be read. I haven't join any plan, however, I just only use wifi.
how to fix my caller id function on my phone? My contacts are inputted properly but their names do not show with their number for me to identify them when they are calling. I only see their numbers.
Also even though I have facebook linked to my contacts to update their pictures it does not link the pics;
I have just purchased the new blackberry but when i add a new appointment to my calendar and want to invite someone, I can't figure out how to add that contact.
My iPhone was stolen, so I had to buy a new one, so it's also a new SIM card. When I connected to iTunes, I thought it would ask me if I wanted to restore with my previous backed up data which would have also included all my contacts, notes, pictures, etc. It didn't. Is there any way to retrieve the backed up data from my old phone and sync it to my new phone?
I just replaced a broken 3GS with a 3G I purchased on eBay. When I plugged in the new 3G, I saw the option to restore phone from the last backup of my old phone. When I clicked this option, iTunes told me I had to click the other option to restore as new device before I could use the backup. I did this and now I do not see the option to use the last backup of my old phone. I am wondering how I can access this backup and sync the new phone to it.
this bb bold 9900 is my first bb. been using this for the past 2 months and was great. suddenly over these past few days, sometimes i cant get data conection. ping and dns lookup is ok.
Am using the bb bold9900. I suddenly lost all data pictures, videos and music files.Am able to take pictures and the camera captures as normal but then the pic is not saved strangely enough the total number reduces and no picture saved. Same happens for music files or videos downlaoded or received via either bluetooth or email.Another strange thing is I still have pictures attached to contacts and the ringtone for my profileOther than that everything works well.
