how to fix my caller id function on my phone? My contacts are inputted properly but their names do not show with their number for me to identify them when they are calling. I only see their numbers.
Also even though I have facebook linked to my contacts to update their pictures it does not link the pics;
I have this weird problem on my 3GS. This is what happens:
1. Someone calls me from number not in my contacts.
2. I go to my "recents" and click the arrow, and then "create new contact".
3. I type a name (Lyle) and click "save".
4. In "recents" the number now shows up as "Lyle", everything seems ok.
5. In the "contacts app" Lyle does not exist. Therefore also does not sync with mobileme.
If I add a contact in the contact app itself, everything works fine.
just bought a great bb bold 9900 in white and am still geting to grips with this piece if kit, everytime i receive a call all i see is unknown number, now having googled the problem the answer i receive is the following..go to settings, security, encryption, UNTICK include contacts and then UNTICK encrypt.Now everytime i untick encryptions, then save and exit....it automatically ticks the include contacts box...and the end result is caller id fails to work.

I tried deleting everything back to factory settings using Wipe Data but didn't help. Also trying to plugin and out the headset several times but doesn't help either.

Lately when placing and receiving calls I cannot hear anything put dead air. No ring tone when calling out, or the voice of the caller when accepting a new call. To fix the issue I have pulled the battery. However, a few hours later the issue will start again.
I had the tour first and since upgrading to .732 since the BOLD has the same software and i now have the bold 9650-verizon. When my phone rings the last callers name will come up first then automatically change to current caller.Has this been happening to anyone?

Previously with my HTC phone, the solution was to create a new "phone" contact and link it to the exisiting google contact. However I am unable to create a standard "phone" contact, instead only gives option to save as google, yahoo or att phone book, all 3 of which produce low res pics. I've tinkered with diff ways to save contact photos, different account settings, contact list settings, etc for hours and can't seem to get a clear image. I am not particularly interested in any of the market apps for caller ID, and I need google to sync my contacts regularly so would prefer to keep this feature enabled.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter having gone a couple of months withs with Gingerbread without any problems to report I started experiencing a strange thing with incoming calls, texts, emails, etc.For incoming calls, the number displayed is the correct number but the screen pulls an incorrect name from my contacts list and displays a picture (taken from either LinkedIn or Facebook profiles) that is from a third, different contact.So the number is for Contact A and is the actual caller, the name that is displayed is contact B and the photo is contact c.If I go to make an outgoing call, the same thing in the inverse occurs.I choose Contact A and it dials contact A but displays it is calling contact B.This has caused me to have to double & triple check when I am making calls to ensure that it is calling the right contacts.
A similar thing happens for texts, incoming texts display the correct number from which they are originating but display that they are from a different contact name.When I go to send a text and enter a number it indicates that it is sending it to the correct phone number but with a different name assocaited with that number. Finally, something similar is happening in email messaging. If I hit reply, while the actual email address is correct the contact name that it lists is incorrect.
I recently upgraded my bold 9900 with the recommended download. Since then my BB has two of all my contacts i.e. all have duplicates. How can I delete them all and resync with outlook.

It comes with call displays but whenever someone calls me and I have their number saved into my contact list their name wont show up. So I don't know who is calling me even though I have their number saved into my phone. Sometimes it shows up and sometime it doesn't (same people).
