My 2 month old phone wont turn on and only a red led light flashes. I tried downloading new software but it wont recognize it. Im abroad now but would like to know where can I take my phone in the states so I can get a replacement.
A few days ago my phone stopped working. It wouldn't switch on, there was no red light, but e battery worked in friends phone so that isn't the problem. All I want is for the phone to switch on, even if it has no contacts etc and is just like it when you get it for the first time.
I have had my 8320 for 5 months now everything was fine until today. I got a white screen with an hourglass so I removed the battery and put it back in after 30 seconds. Then "bam" nothing, no screen at all, just a blinking red light. I came home and plugged it into the charger thinking that this would solve it. Perhaps the battery had died but it charged for six hours and then I got a green light, but no screen.
I was in the process of trying to update the software for my BB 8310 to Ver 4.5 (so I can have the video recorder) but I disconnected my phone with the USB cord and I got a fatal error message. Now my phone is completely dead with the message light blinking red on and off again. I have tried to put it on the charger (even thought the phone battery wasn't dead before) and remove the battery. Nothing. Still will not turn on and the red blinking light is the only life my little phone has.
I was having some issues with my 9900, mainly the touch screen wasn't working. Since I couldn't really use the phone, I left if for a week and know it will not charge.. The phone's red light will not turn on when plugging in and another battery did not work. When you plug it in, the battery charging indicator in the middle of the screen will comeoup showing charging, but after 2 mins the icon disappears and the screen goes black. I have also tried connecting it withhout the battery to the desk top manager to update the software, but it says it cannot connect to device .
All of a sudden my BB Pearl was flashing RED light 3+2 times consistently. Then as per suggestion removed the data card and the SIM and booted with just battery and it started working, then as per suggestion as I added then and tried to start; it started flashing Red again.
I removed the battery and after sometime inserted the same and no light and it is completely blank. Since I bought the new laptop I haven't backed up any contact or memos; so cannot afford to lose any data.I haven't even loaded the BB application on my laptop, was just about to do that. How I can get my BB powered on so that I can copy the data or get it working without losing the data?
Yesterday I was waiting for an important call but needed a shower so I took my phone into the bathroom and put it in a dry safe place where I would hear it ring if need be. It did so I quickly jumped out of the shower, dried hands and answered a message. Few minutes later when back at my desk at home I realized the bold was behaving weird, key presses were not doing the right function, i.e. a press of the back key brought up jk or other letters on the screen etc.
It did not sustain water damage, at worst my hands were merely damp when used so I just figured pop it down for a while and let it 'dry' (it wasn't wet but you know what I mean, its all I could think of) picked it up maybe 15 minutes later and it appeared to have died. Now, its 15 months old (and was a refurbished handset direct from 02 when I got it so its had a hard life) its been bumped, and not long after I got it I broke the screen (LCD bleed) so I had it repaired which forfeited the warranty, also the trackball has been a constant nightmare to me, it stops working in one or more direction regularly.
I've found the solution to this to be to clean the trackball gently with a q-tip dipped in clear alcohol, after some time this usually works, but a couple of months ago I could not get this to work at all so after 2 weeks of a phone that would not scroll left I had the trackball replaced. I now had issues with the trackball not selecting when I push down but this is got around by using the return key or it does sometimes work if you push hard. So, with this new flashing red light failure I took it back to the place that replaced the screen. They kept it for 24 hours and when I went back to collect it they said it was a component failure and beyond economic repair.
Quite truthfully though I got the impression that they actually just couldn't be bothered as it was a hard job. Came home and started researching, other posts I have read lead me to believe that if the LED comes on in any way all is not lost. My computer does not recognize the phone when I try and connect it via USB, although just now I tried again and windows acknowledged that a device had just been plugged in, but the blackberry software still did not detect anything. What can I try now? I am not tech savvy so it will need to be clearly laid out for idiots.
I have this problem with my Bold. I was recently overseas and my battery totally drained out. I was unable to charge my phone till I got back 2 days later. However, when I plug the phone to the USB of my laptop it just shows the white screen with the empty battery icon and a lighning bolt across it. Its been 12 hours since I plugged it in and it still shows that same logo. Its still unable to boot up. I tried the tips on reviving a bricked Bold but I get stuck in the stage where it initializes(step 2) and I get a multi-load stage error and the screen goes back to the one with the battery logo. I do not have a wall charger and I have been charging the Bold via USB for some time. The Bold is out of warranty. Is my phone bricked or my battery dead? Anyone have any advice? I am using the main USB port of the laptop.
I've read through the FAQs, I've read through 100s of posts, I've checked out "how to restore a nuked blackberry", I think I've tried everything, but I thought I would post and see if there was any other possible thing I can try.I got a Bold from Canada and unlocked it for use on AT&T. Everything was good in the world. I've been using it for about a week, and the last couple days I have been connecting my Sony bluetooth headphones and listening to music on the way to work.Yesterday, near the end of a song, the playback froze. I could still navigate, open the browser, use the media player controls, switch songs, but it would never play the track again. I pulled the battery. When I put the battery back in, it would not start up. No LED, no white screen, just dead.I tried a couple things and finally got it to show the red flashing light after leaving the battery out for 10 minutes or so. I got it connected and re-installed the OS. Everything was once again good in the world. This morning, same thing happened with playback, same thing happened when I pulled the battery. This time, I have not been able to get any life out of it. I've tried: leaving it charging on a wall charger with battery + sim leaving it charging on a wall charger with battery and no sim plugging it in to the wall with no battery plugging it into the wall with no battery and no sim plugging it into the wall with no battery then inserting the battery later plugging it into the computer's USB with no battery plugging it into computer's USB with no battery no sim plugging it into the computer with no battery, then inserting the battery plugging it into computer with battery and no sim plugging it into computer with battery and sim leaving it unplugged for an hour with no battery leaving it unplugged for an hour with no battery and no sim The computer, Desktop manager, and App loader all fail to recognize when it is plugged in.I am really hoping that someone here will have a "one last thing I can try" to get it powered on. Is it worth it to leave the battery out overnight or something, or am I just boned?I really, really, really don't want to send this back to Canada. If that's my only option, anyone have any experience with Rogers and their return/exchange policy and procedure? How painful will it be and how long will I be without my new baby?
Background:Bought a bold 9000 the day it was released in Canada. Worked perfectly, maybe dropped it a few times but everything was working. Recently I upgraded to the 9700 and sent my brother my 9000.He had it for a week with Telus (originally on Rogers, and unlocked). He then dropped it off his bed onto a hardwood floor (not very high). Since then it would not turn on, no red LED or anything.I went over all the common steps to getting it working: -Battery pull -Take out Sim Card, and battery -Try connecting to wall charger or pc with and without battery -Basically everything listed in other posts with the same problem So the above steps (search for details on them) work for some people, and not for others. So it was dead, he mailed it back to me to try and fix. I tried all the common solutions again with no luck. Then I decided to try something else. How I fixed it:You know when your computer is screwed up, and someone suggests to reset the bios settings? All computers have a little backup battery to keep your settings, and keep the clock running on your computer. So even when it is unplugged from the wall and you turn it back on the time is right.Well the 9000 has a similar battery, I am not 100% sure what it is used for but removing it completely solved my problem. I know it is used to keep the time when the main battery is removed - what else i'm not sure.. Mine seems to work fine with it removed. It does not reset any other data it seems, all contacts, email themes and everything are still intact.Once this battery was removed, I put the battery back in and everything works perfectly now! The only issue I have noticed is that the time does not advance once the battery is removed.. Since my brother always has his phone on, and it updates the time from the network there is no big problem with this. -Again, the time works perfectly as long as the main battery is in.Here are the steps, you don't even need to dissassemble the blackberry:
1 - Remove the black plastic sticker on the back 2 - using a small screwdriver (or better yet, soldering iron) remove the small circular battery from the PCB. 3 - put battery back in and pray
The picture of my bold with the battery removed is here: bold_9000 on Flickr - Photo Sharing! Disclaimer: This worked on my phone, but your phone may have a different problem. I suggest this only as a LAST resort on phones that are not under warranty anymore. I will not be blamed for anyone breaking their phone (more?).
I have a torch 9800 and i woke up and it looked like it had just died but the red light was on so it obviously isnt dead, ive tried upgrading the software but keep getting error msgsi dont know whats going on but
I just bought a new bb 9000 bold on the weekend with sevice-contract. everything was working fine ..until i decided to import from my old sim-card contacts. well i inserted the sim , put back battery and then waited to start up the phone . it did so with white screen and small watch ,working.
then when it took long with this white screen , i thought there's something wrong . i couldn't turn of the phone with the on/off button, so i removed the battery, and then inserted again the other sim back. then with the battery in place , nothing happens anymore. it went completly dead , no red light flashing , no start up, it won't charge anymore, can't connect via usb (have the latest desktop-software installed} .the program doesn't see the device anymore on the usb.what happened????by any chance the phone burned out or what . can anybody tell?? mean that thing is brand new....
I have had my Pearl for a couple of years now. I have never had any problems with it until now. I recently let my fiance use it and now, after one week, there is no lights, including key pad light, trackball light, or screen backlight. You can barely tell that there is any thing on the screen. it makes the click noises when I scroll the trackball, but doesn't respond to clicks nor does it scroll the selection. I got a new battery,I did a wipe with JL Cmnder(and successfully reinstalled the OS) and still nothing. It is now stuck on the option to run the "Set-up Wizard". She claims to not have got it wet or did anything abusive to my Pearl. She is trustworthy and I believe her. She is just "Bad Luck" with anything electronic.Took Pearl apart, reassembled, still no luck. When I connect pearl to computer without battery, THERE IS LIGHT on the screen but with the "no battery" icon. Leads me to believe that the lights still work, just not properly. What now?
I have the torch 9810 the phone just died. It wont turn on, the red light wont turn on nothing I left it in the charger for a little while and nothing. Is there anything that I can do or is the phone dead?
I was using my blackberry tour 9630 over two years and never had a problem. A couple of days ago I've connected phone to computer, check software update (it says your software up to date) recharged the phone and put it on the desk. Oddly enough it starts blinking like I have message, but phone did not turn on or off it just stop responding. The screen is black and when connected to computer through USB it's not recognized. Weather connected to electrical outlet or usb to computer it Flash red signal 10111 - one red , pause and three red. I've tried pulling out batteries, card, keep it for 24 hours without battery, nothing. Neither laptop nor pc recognise blackberry device. Bell offered "to take a look at it for about " 100 -150 $ without warranty that it will be repaired and I have only 6 month left on my 3 years contract. I've brought the phone to local wireless store and they try to flash OS through loader software without any success. I have two blackberries on my account, was happy with the phones, but now feel like smashing both of them. I don't know if I more mad at "Bell" who told me "product has 1 year warranty and now you are screwed" or at Research in Motion for their blackberries for which I've paid 400 $ upfront and 3 years contract (supposedly device cost over 600 $)
As the title describe very the issue, I have a plain dead Bold, no power, no red lights, no signs of anything, with battery or without it, connected to my PC or the wall charger the situation remains the same.
Alright where can I start... 3,5 weeks ago my X10i gave an android.error and quit... didn't start again and I got the red light flashing. Called t-mobile and send my phone for repairing. Last tuesday I got my X10i back. "part replaced" was the message. It functioned again, acted a bit strange as usual but it functioned. Yesterday I went home from work and I put my X10i in my pocket. When I got home I took the phone out of my pocket and noticed it was turned off... nothing weird because almost everytime I put it in my pocket I have to enter my sim-code when I get it out............ or it is turned off.... But this time it wouldn't turn on.
my brother purchased k810i in singapore in february and started using it in august in india after using it for three days..i switched it off with ear phones connected and i tried to switch it on but of no use no sign of light on the screen of my mobile..only the red light near ir is blinking not even the batery is charging.
Last week my girlfriend dropped my BB in water that was real quick (3 secs | kitchen sink) and it wasn't that bad but as precaution I pulled put battery and put in jar with uncooked rice. After about a week took I out tried it yesterday to get it working for about 6 hours and no use.
It's just total dead just very very long red light flashing I have tried Jl_Cmder doesn't seems to be working I Can see it connected with PC but not DM I have tried APPLOADER with jvm and no jvm just stuck on waiting for device initialization for hours and hours and keep sending error device not found.
And yes there was no sign of life for about 4 to 5 hours but after pulling out battery and connecting it to external charger I am getting a battery sign on screen.
Ive got a big problem with my phone. It went dead last night and i tried to charge it with my pc and all i got was the red light. Once i got it to a wall charger the phone charged for a little booted and everything. It even accepted the txts i recieved while it was off. I leave the house for a couple hours i come back and the phone is off. When i plug the phone in nothing happens not even the yellow charge light. when i unplug the phone the red light comes on for a minute but the phone wont boot ive tried battery pulls and everything but the same thing happens everytime and i have no idea what to do. Ive never had this problem with any blackberry ive ever had.
came home this eve, battery was low, plugged it in and it was charging but then i took out the battery and put the sim that was in the bb in another phone, now it wont charge, the led light is not coming on when i plug it in and i'm using a wall charger. I see where this is a problem for others. can it be fixed or do i have to get a new phone?
My problem is that I have a BB 9000 from telstra. My phone running so good since yesterday but today when in the morning I saw my phone there is no charge in battery and also nothing happened when I press red button. After so many tries nothing happened, only I saw red led light blinks and nothing. I charged my phone with USB. Please tell me is my is dead. Light blinked in three intervals like one time for 1 sec and 3 time for 1/2 sec.
Yesterday my battery died so i charged my phone all night for about 9 hours i tried to turn it on this morning and nothing happens.so i took out the battery and put it back in but all i get is the red light for about 30 seconds then it goes away and nothing happens what can i do to make my phone turn on?
I'm purchasing a used Bold for $10. The owner says she did a master reset by pressing ctrl+alt+del. The phone went black and only the red indicator light comes on. Did the battery pull and charged it for hours but still nothing. Next steps? What may have happened?
I recently upgraded to a bold through Orange (UK Network Provider), phone has been great so far, I have had it for a week. However, I made a call and came back to my phone to find a blank screen and the red light flashing/staying constant intermittently. The phone does not turn on, I have tried taking battery out, sim out, memory card out, attaching it to my computer (which it does not recognize as it needs to be on) charging it etc. I have tried that alt, cap and del reset mechanism too.
Orange told me I will have to send it off this week, but does anyone know any quick fix to turn it on? I have all my contacts on there, stupidly I did not back it up.
Does anyone have a clue on how to restart a DEAD Blackberry Bold 9000. And it had to happen - of course - at a time when my backup also crashed with all my 3600 contacts, professional agenda, and hundreds of notes. In practice, it turned off, there is no more red light, and I'm not able to switch it on again.
I've already tried: taking the battery out and replacing it again; using a battery from another - working - Blackberry; charging it for days and days in a row; pressing the red button and the mute button simultaneously for one minute.
Led doesn't blink and screen doesn't light up, computer won't recognize (Jlcmder, MFI 1.8, DM 4.7, Crackutil, apploader /nojvm). Tried with and without battery. The only thing that does is charge battery (I left a battery charging overnight in the dead phone and use it in another phone and it is fully charged). Led does not do anything even while charging the battery.
I HAVE A BLACKBERRY PHONE THAT I BOUGHT RECENTLY,I REALIZED THAT WHEN I TURN IT ON IT STAYS ON FOR ABOUT A MINUTES THEN THE BACK LIGHT ON THE PHONE TURN OFF AND THEN THE PHONE DOES NOTHING MORE,ITS LIKE THE PHONE FREEZE UP,I REALIZED THAT I CAN STILL SEE THE MENU OPTION ON THE SCREEN EVEN THOUGHT THE BACKLIGHT IS TURNED OFF.I THOUGHT IT WAS A SOFTWARE ISSUE SO I REINSTALLED IT AND THE PROBLEM STILL OCCURS...IM NOT SURE IF ITS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE CIRCUIT BOARD ON THE PHONE.
My phone told me i had to update it to new software. So I connected it to my computer (running win7).I started the nokia phone update software, which correctly identified my phone etc. It told me it was normal it could say the phone got disconnected. After a few minutes, it told me my phone was disconnected and I had to unplug it, unplug battery, put everything back in and press power for 1 second to resume updating. That doesn't workHard resetting with shift + space + backspace also doesn't work. The phone vibrates for a second and does nothing. I do see a little red light inside the navi-pad.
This morning I removed my Bold from the charger and wonder why the Bold was off. After trying to switch on the Phone, the LED begins to flash "one pause three" times. After a battery pull no changes of the behavior. Also without the battery, but connected via USB to a pc the Bold LED begins to flash. JL Commander or loader /nojvm brings no change. The Berry was not recognized by the pc.
Was sent a new Bold by ATT to replace my "dead" one - is there any way to retrieve the contact info. from the BB Bold that won't even power on? I know - I know - should have backed everything up on BB Desktop but I thought it was doing that everytime I synced.
Been out, and been unable to turn my phone off using the power button, stupid me has taken the battery out the back of my phone, replaced it, and still my phone wont turn on. Back home now, put my phone into charge and my phone totally wont turn on, all what comes up when i put my phone into charge is initally the nokia logo then the screen goes white and blank. tried turning my phone on with out the memory card in, as well as pressing green, star and 3, but nothing is happening what so ever.
can anyone help me cause im lost without my phone and also i've got loads of great pitcures from my night out which i need to upload to my comp, and i dont want to loose them even though they're saved to my memory card (i think lol)i havent dropped my phone tonight so it cant be that. having bad luck at moment with electical things, my ipod has died yesterday and now my phone, im totally cursed lol
Just installed a jb app that mentioned something about "quick unlock". I cannot recall the exact title but anyway it seems to have totally killed my 3GS.
Tried all the tricks I know but nothing works. Only the Apple icon will appear on the screen for about 20 seconds. ITunes does not detect the phone so I can not reset/restore it.If I try to recharge it, no battery icon appears.
The camera froze today, and stupidly I pressed all the buttons randomly to see if it would unfreeze. I took the battery out and then recharged it.I got the message that it was fully recharged, unplugged the charger, got the Sony logo and then a "Goodbye" message.
Hey guys, I don't know what to do. My Iphone is completely dead. I tried everything. It will not turn on at all. I even tried to put in restore mode, nutting the screen stays completely black. Is the phone bricked or something, it's just laying there motionless. The battery was full charged, it was on the cradle actually. Plugged it in the pc nutting. I even used a different usb cable from apple.
So I woke up to my phone only partially working on sunday. By that I mean it turns on and works in that sense, but none of the buttons do, so I cannot get it out of standby/sleep mode. I can still back everything up, but cannot figure out a way to get to the contacts. Even syncing with DM will seemingly not allow me to lift the contacts from the phone onto my computer, only to sync with Addressbook.
