Feb 7, 2012I connected my BB to Desktop Software but there's no button that is supposed to update my OS. It's just written that i have OS: 5.0 Bundle 1149.

BB Bold 9700 :: Updating Firmware On 9700
Jan 5, 2010Im in Uk and bought a 9700 sim free and put my O2 blackberry contract sim in.
I have 5.0.0.321 on at the moment and I looked on the blackberry website under the vendor specific ones and o2 have a newer firmware out.. Ive downloaded it and installed it on my pc then run Desktop Manager, but it says there are no updates for my device..What am I doing wrong?is this the wrong way to update firmware?

BB Bold 9700 :: Start From Scratch?
Mar 26, 2010Tried to play with the Gmail/Contact Lists (see other post), and the bottom line now - something is not right, every other icon in the Home folder is named Browser...I can't stand it. I want to start from scratch.
I know how to do a Security Wipe, but that's not what I need. I want to do a computer-style format and get to a like-new status as if I just took the device out of the box. Obviously I can download the newest OS and install, but how do I get all the AT&T specific software/icons?

Close other applications and try opening the camera again.'I've tried to do some research on this problem and all I've found relates to not having enough free space or the camera lense becoming loose. I've checked my free space and I think I have enough and I've tried pressing on my camera lense with no suceess. There are definitely no applications running. I've tried restoring my phone to old backups and then updating but still no luck.

BB Bold 9700 :: Frozen On Start Up With New Sim Card
Aug 25, 2010I tried searching similar topics but could not find relevant ones. everyone seems to have no issue with swapping out sim cards on their bolds. If there is a thread already open, i do apologize. I'm really frustrated and really need my blackberry to be up and running.
I have a Bold 9700, updated to the latest OS, everything works fine. I recently had some issues with my old sim card so I went to my service provider to change it to a new one (same number, same line, same contract, just a new sim card).
As is expected I was told that when my old sim is deactivated, simply insert my new one and I can use my phone as per normal.
However, when I did this, the phone was stuck at the loading screen (the entire bar is white) for eternity (maybe 5 minutes or so) before proceeding to the homescreen. There is no "verifying security" load bar, the phone is entirely frozen, no buttons work, the touch pad does not work, it shows 3G on the top right without the blackberry sign, there is no service provider name, and once in a while the small clock loading logo appears.
I pulled the battery a couple of times and the problem persists. I called the service provider to reactivate the new sim card, they did it 3 times, same problem. I inserted the sim card into other non-blackberry phones i have and it works on all other phones. When I put back my old deactivated sim card into the 9700, the phone starts up fine within 2 - 3 minutes, "verifying security" bar as per normal, everything moves, just no service connection. When i turn on the phone without a sim card it starts up fine as well with a message at the top saying insert sim card.
I even went down to the blackberry technical service department of my service provider and they were of no help. all they could say was "we have to wipe your phone and reload the software" which I am trying to avoid and I can do myself anyways.
My phone is unlocked, comes unlocked here in singapore, I even checked using the "MEPD" method, all disabled.
This has been very frustrating, especially when I need my blackberry for work. What is wrong with my phone? How can the simple replacement of a sim card be so difficult on a blackberry when it is problem free for ANY other phone I have ever used? I am now dreading when I have to travel abroad for business and require a foreign sim card.

Dec 5, 2014I tried to upgrade my iPhone 6 from iOS 8.1 to 8.1.1 through iTunes, but the phone stuck when upgrading. What's on the screen of the cell phone now is the Apple icon and a process bar below with about 3% finished. The iTunes works fine, showing "updating iPhone software" and the process is stuck at about 30%.Â

Apr 3, 2010i updated to the new os and when i try to start my camera it says unable to start camera try closing other applications and try again i downgraded and then the same thing so i wiped it and then updated it again and the same thing happens dunno think its busted anybody have a idea what it is i even deleted all applications i downloaded and no dice.

Jul 8, 2011Today, I signed up for Blackberry Email Service with T-Mobile. I got a message that an update was available, so I downloaded and installed it. However, when the Blackberry rebooted after the installation, (which seemed to take much longer than normal), the screen reads "Blackberry Platform 6.6.0.195" followed by a listing of all of the programs and apps on the Blackberry. There's also an error message that reads, "Uncaught Exception: java.lang.Null Pointer Exception". When I click "OK" there is another message reading, "Uncaught Exception:ApplicationRegistry.wait For(0xbfca09409ffe99e5) timeout. Then I get another reading, "Uncaught Exception:java.lang.Error" Every application on the list seems to have an error, and nothing will open. But I can't even shut the phone off. I have tried all of the four different reboot methods, but nothing seems to work.
I am wondering if I were to sync the Blackberry with the Blackberry Desktop Manager on my lpatop if it would reset the OS to the way it was before the update.

Oct 15, 2010I have only just got my first HTC phone. I think its quite good so far, however I am have trouble trying to sync with my PC. I have downloaded and installed the latest sync software from the HTC website, then plugged in the phone and selected the HTC sync option. The PC recognises that the phone is plugged in and starts the software start up screen and displays the message 'updating htc library' in the bottom right hand corner. This is as far as I can get and the software eventually times out and closes!!! I have tried on another PC and the same error occurrs!

May 3, 2010After updating my device software to v 5.0.0.586 from v 5.0.0.423, I encountered the following issues: The keylock key on the top left of my device intermittently does not work. Sometimes, nothing happens, other times it switches the screen off but does not lock the keypad.When hitting the green phone button, the list of recent calls is displayed but the most recent call (at the top of the list) is hidden by the input field and you cannot read the number.I tried a battery pull but this did not help. File free = 120MB. I have since reverted to v 5.0.0.423 but would like to do the upgrade again if these issues can be fixed? Does anyone know anything about this?

Apr 30, 2010Got my bold 9700 a month ago and finally decided to update to the latest firmware using the desktop manager.
Everything was going all fine and dandy but it is currently stuck on task 12 of 12 (restore device data) and hasnt moved for 3 hrs now...I don't want to unplug the device as it says unplugging may render some data unusable!
